Situation It's Game 3 of the WCS Season 3 World Finals and Dear is doing an attack off with a force of phoenix/immortal/sentry/stalker/zealot with a MSC in tow. The MSC gets sniped by Soulkey before Dear is able to advance to Soulkey's bases so the attack is essentially cut off from retreating. Dear presses on and walks right into a 360 degree surround by Soulkey's muta/ling/corruptor composition. Dear is supposed to lose this. He does not. Outcome Dear proceeds to form a PERFECT donut with his ground forces (there are literally ZERO zerglings getting in between the units and they're forced to wrap around the force with a bunch of zerglings helplessly running around waiting for their turn to attack). The sentry is literally inside the donut casting a guardian shield and only dies when the muta glaive bounce kills it, the +1 zealots are doing work (even though there's one trapped inside the donut) and the stalkers/immortals are holding strong. But wait, there's more going on. Dear's reinforcements arrive just in time from the top and right and they also have perfect surface area (no space in-between the units). The stalkers to the right even start target firing mutas while he warps in reinforcement stalkers in an arc with perfect spacing to make zergling surrounds impossible. Literally almost every group of ground units in the engagement have no spaces between them. The phoenix is even targeting the low hp mutas (lol). He does this without casting ANY forcefields. As the battle clears he even pulls back his stalkers into a ball while the zealots and immortals are left up in the front to protect against any additional ling reinforcements. Context It's worth noting that in the post match interview, Dear himself said he played his best during the games which is a very rare thing for progamers to say. It's usually their condition wasn't great (see SoO's from the same tournament) or that they were happy the games were good. See for yourself!
