I wouldn't say hilarious, I'd more say it'd make the game more interesting.

Currently there isn't an early game all in to do vs toss and same against zerg I'd say unless you proxy 3 rax or something.

2port banshee, marauder hellbat etc.

Marauder HB all in is obviously severely nerfed now, and 2 port banshee is laughably easy to shut down as both toss and zerg..zerg get ridiculous early spores, and toss have fast robo or stargate openings for quick detection

888 reaper and 2 rax still win games on the highest levels (especially 2 rax, 888 isnt used that much anymore although very strong vs hatch first). on the other hand zerg has no all in (flashs high ground CC first even holds 6 pool easily).

all other all ins like roach bane all in or hellbat marauder all in etc. are so late you can scout them and react properly which is fine.

Dude, there is a different between cheese and all in that you dont seem to grasp..the marauder HB all in was scoutable just like roach bane, whereas the 888 (useless now btw) and 6 pool are both cheeses. Though the 888 can be scouted with a drone scout (missing rax, not many workers, early gas). 2 rax is scoutable for the same reason of missing rax.

A cheese is a(n unconventional) strategy that - you hope - your opponent doesn't expect/scout or that relies on an opponent playing overly greedy to begin with.

Marauder/hellbat and 11/11 fall as much into that category as 6pool or 8/8/8, as all of them are quite defendable if the opponent knows early* that they are coming, or straight up rely on an opponent taking a risk (aka CC on the low ground against a 6pool, Zerg not confirming a 3rd CC against HB/Marauder).

*and early is completely situation depend. Scouting 2fininshing proxy barracksis often too late to hold an 11/11, while scouting 3finishing barracks instead of a third CC gives you plenty of time before the marauder/hellbat moves out.


Allin just means that you have to make something big happen with an attack or the game becomes unwinable. Basically all cheeses are allins, but not vis-versa.
