no offense to Suppy, But he comes from a wealthy America Asian family and is doing something different in his studies and is quite catered to, so has the money and time for both school and sc2. Most of Suppy's college fee's are paid by his parents. Where as Stephano is going into the medical field, being a med student gives you 100% no time for anything else, one of the most time consuming things to go to school for and start a career in. So I'm glad Stephano is thinking about his long term future, Pro gamer is not long term thing you can do, Unless you are Korean on a Kespa team and you are the best of the best.
If you knew that Suppy comes from a wealthy American Asian family (which I didn't know), maybe you should also know that he's currently on pre-med track and is also considering going to a medical school...Add that to the situation in which medical school in France is close to free to attend from what I've heard (someone can correct me if this is wrong) while the US schools take 200k+ in tuition and most graduates come out with a heavy debt.
Has Stephano received some guaranteed acceptance to a med school in the first place? Everyone's been speaking as it's been confirmed, but I don't think I've actually read that he's going for sure.

Ah ha ha ha, couldn't make it in the GSL, so he quits.

But now who will be "best USA hope" ? I`m glad he knows his boundaries. I will miss his playstyle with wins and losses. GL to him irl.

No he has not. Apparantly he won't do it at all and will instead do science or engineering or something.
As I explained before medicine is just another university undergraduate degree like any other in Europe. You go straight from school.

Uhh suppy is rich? never knew that and i actually know the guy. But you do know suppy is also going to medical field as well right? Also, california school system are more expensive then france's since we dont support edumacation over here in murica. Suppy is also in a very good school (best public university in america) and is maintaining a 4.0 in premed track so yeah.. he isnt really catered.

No, we have lower taxes.

Good decision by Stephano, hope he finds success in medical school!

Interesting. Thanks for pointing that out. The passing rate for the exam isn't very high then I assume?

Sad but inevitable. I wish him good luck in both the last few months of his Starcraft career, and his studies in medical school. Not too sure how things are in France, but in America, medical school takes a LOT. I hope he knows how to apply enough work ethic to get through it.

It's clear from what he said that it's because the prize pools are diminishing (he says due to the growing popularity of other games, I assume he means the dota / lol / etc?)
But, long term, going to school is the better option. It's highly unlikely he would be able to keep a 100k salary as a gamer for very long, whereas a doctor can land that easily.
Sad to see him go
