Oh, please. This isn't about skill, there are several thousand players who are better than her. Don't delude yourself into thinking that the recruitment was the result of skill.
Well aren't you aggressive. I merely put forward an idea that isn't that far out of the realm of possibility. Besides talent isn't directly equal to current skill. A good scout will detect a talent before he/she has become something so they can foster that talent correctly. Now I don't know anything about this player but people are so quick to jump on to the rage-train and it is quite sad. I don't really see how I am raging here, but ok. All I'm saying is that there are several thousand players out there who are working just as hard as her (and some even harder) and are better than her who have not been given the same chance she has been given. You are basically ignoring several thousand players who are better than her just so you can hang on to some outlying possibility that she might have been the best candidate based on skill. I'm sorry but that is delusional by definition. Do you think she should turn this opportunity down because you claim there are thousands of people more suited to the job than her? Does her being picked up by an academy hinder all of these other thousand people from working hard and eventually get noticed? I don't think so. No and that's not what I said. Of course she should take the opportunity, but people shouldn't pretend that this is anything more than a publicity stunt. I initially assumed that this was about gender equality, a publicity stunt however makes by far the most sense. Isn't all team pick-ups for publicity in the end? It's a combination of skill and publicity when it comes down to male gamers, it's publicity when it comes down to female gamers. So yes and no. Holy shit, you need to be banned. While you`re banned, read up on sexism because you are clearly a sexist. You`re speaking out of your ass. You have no idea what her role will be on the team. I feel the need to point out the obvious to you. Men are also recruited due to their prominent role in the community through streaming etc. Look no further than Quantic Nathanias. Stop trying to disguise your hate mongering as logic. Rofl. What a joke. Men are recruited due to their prominent role in other capacities, yes. Is Kaitlyn in that bracket? Had people for the most part even heard of her before this pickup? She can grow into such roles for sure, as things stand I doubt very much that she was picked up for being a prominent community figure why are you rolling on the floor laughing? Just because YOU never heard of her doesn`t mean she wasn`t there. They have the same amount of followers on their twitch streams... just over 6k. And she has been streaming for less time. They also have the same amount of followers on twitter. You`re just another sexist spewing false information. You're the sexist, yay positive discrimination!

I concede I am wrong, her following merits her pickup.
I was 'rofling' at the backseat modding, rather than the pickup.

Hehe, honestly I can understand why some people get butthurt about things like this. All of those aspiring pros and good high masters players who get overlooked and see someone with a lot less skill getting picked up and getting giving a good chance. While I understand all of that I really do not care myself :p So good luck to her and hopefully she ups her level and can make some of these nerds eat their words :p

Although this might be a bit off-topic, I have to defend EG here; Machine, Incontrol and Idra were all pretty decent bw players and EG picked them up very early. ThorZaiN and HuK got signed after their respective DH wins, if I recall correctly, Stephano got picked up, when he was by far the best foreigner and aLive/Oz/JYP/Revival/Suppy are all solid players, that did´nt have a huge fanbase before, so they were no publicity signing either. So in general most EG players were actually hired through results.

The community can't blame organizations for choosing players that our own community gives attention to. If our community and its members stopped showing support and attention to gamers like this, the incentive to pick up the player into their ranks would disappear.
The problem ends up being that all the detractors jump down the throat of this news, and just spark and fuel the debate and attention that a move like this makes. If you feel so strongly about it, don't comment or bump threads like this, and let it go by the wayside. Simply posting and adding dissent doesn't address really anything.

Nathanias was picked up by Quantic as a caster. Katlyn was picked up for publicity. You even said it yourself in one of your later posts when you referenced her stream numbers and following. It wasn't skill, it was publicity. You yourself admitted that already, yet I am somehow hate mongering by simply pointing out that fact.

I still don't understand why they picked kaitlyn over ms spite tho, kaitlyn never gets close to 1k views, or even streams at all very often, her highests is like few hundred.
Ms Spyte is far more skilled imo, would deserve this spot far more. She is Top masters with GM MMR vs kaitlyn who is very low mmr for master player, considered low masters.
MS spyte gets 1k+ viewers at all times, more lately as she streams often.
So still kinda confused. Is it a Canadian based only side or something? As far as marketing and skill, Ms spyte would of been the better option, Also a zerg player.
