I'd bet my non-existent pride that the RO16 will pull in 30,000. With the finals hitting the 45,000-50,000 mark. Does anyone have the figures of the previous Shoutcraft invitational by any chance?
They had around 20k viewers if I remember correctly.

50K at least once in this tournament is pretty obtainable with the reach TB has and everyone else that will support this day9/husky/teams etc + I'm sure they will broadcast at the perfect time to grab both NA and as many EU viewers as they can.

You wouldn't even know about it because every tournament has invites of old school known guys and Koreans qualify.
And now when we get a tournament for top NA players people are complaining because they don't know them. That kind of shows you how Koreans are ruining NA scene. rofl that last sentence kinda came outta nowhere, or maybe there's simple logic i'm missing Yeah I didn't really go into details as this is not the place. But if you look at most NA tournaments, they invite known players and make a qualifier. Qualifiers are a great way to get some recognition in the scene. All's good until you realize that basically only Koreans get through those qualifiers and what that means is, that new NA talent doesn't get the recognition it deserves. Without recognition they have it harder to become known as top NA players and unless they can beat top KR players they don't have very high chances of becoming known. It can be argued that this leads to players losing incentive which further lowers the quality of the region. Sounds like your problem is with invite-heavy systems rather than Koreans winning qualifiers... Why? Elaborate.

Say what you will about TB, he's a breathe of fresh air in this scene.

Well, again, let's give credit where it's due. This is Genna's event after all.
Still, I 100% agree. Genna and TB are the biggest innovators the SC2 scene's had in the recent couple of years, if not ever.

If this was done before WCS NA it wouldnt even get close to 50k but with the way things are right now and people wanting to prove Blizzard it will probably hit 50k for sure.

Nope he didn't make top 16, and he wasn't good enough to. Not sure where exactly the issue is.
