3 more gsl seasons. They said they had 4 total. 0 clue about OSL.

My guess is that the online part before the ro16 offline will do terribly.

Really? The koreans who are so greatly better than the foreigners and more so have more good players than everywhere else combined only get 5 spots, equal to the much weaker regions? Im all for foreigner only infrastructure but that is pure robbery. Don't be surprised if the 5 NA representatives will be polt, violet and 3 esf/kespa guys I presumed viOLet wasn't coming back to the US, with his team in GSTL now. Anyone have any news on this?
If you don't have to be living in NA to play in NA then it doesn't matter, Violet can still play NA GSL from Korea, but there might be lag issues.

Any Korean not in GSL presently should do this if they have the funding to go to the MLG or whatever event is hosting. So this leaves Koreans on MVP, FXO, ST, Azubu and Axiom that could actually do this. Or maybe NSHS players will try and just forfeit the spot if they get to the lan and just pocket the online prize money. They have to be Code B, though. Axiom is all in Code B right now, so that seems viable, and then a bunch of "no name" guys for the other teams. I fear guys like Dream (obviously decently known but I'm thinking more obscure) winning all of the NA stuff. Like Yugioh. Yugioh to move to Catz's house
It is plausible, he does house some of his players quiet a bit.

Basically the GSL is expanding. Instead of just having the "Korean GSL" we know and love, we're getting a North American GSL and a European GSL. These are run by MLG and IEM, respectively, like how GOM runs the GSL.
Presumably, the NA-GSL and EU-GSL will have the same format as KR-GSL. So we'll actually have an American Code A, American S, European Code A, and European Code S. Though they're actually called 'Challenger' and 'Premiere' instead of A and S.
GSL-KR, GSL-NA and GSL-EU will all run a season at the same time which ends at the same time. So the Code S final for NA, EU and KR will be all on the same weekend, pretty much.
The results from these three regional GSLs are then used for a "GSL World" season final. The Code S Ro4 from each region, for example, battling it out to see who is the world champion for that season.
Then everything repeats for Season 2 and Season 3. And yes, Code A and Code S works the same way as the Code A and Code S we're all familiar with, even in NA and EU. I think? Yeah that's a way to look at it. Just online since NA and EU are too big D: force all players to move to one city imo
I like central studios like the LCS have in EU and NA too. I don't see how this is going to grow their viewership at all to be honest. It's great to finally see Twitch broadcasting the GSL. That I can see gaining more interest. I think the viewership is going to be roughly the same when it comes to the others. Similar to that of major tournaments like MLG Dallas.

heres whats gonna happen
all the koreans go to na
and choya and thebest end up advancing cuz every1 good is gone

My worry: - VoDs - Koreans jumping to NA/EU regions to clear house (I'm looking at you Violet/Polt for NA...) - GSL/OSL just lost some level of prestige. because some of the top players will move onto GSL-NA GSL-EU and unable to participate further until the finals
:Looks like Axiom/Acer will move their players to GSL-NA, not sure about Azubu

Is that correct? 3 more gsl seasons. They said they had 4 total. 0 clue about OSL. OSL is functioning as the WCS in the summer (or Season 2), and the remaining GSL season will not count towards WCS I think.

There is no NA GSL. Its NA WCS produced by MLG.

Only the Koreans who had no chance at a GSL/OSL would move across so how does it lose prestige? you really think Life and MC are going to go and play in GSL-NA?

I dunno about poor numbers. I'm pretty sure I'd watch NA and EU Code S whenever I can.

I really feel we need to know for how long you need to stay in NA/EU to compete there if we are to have a realistic idea of what Korean teams will do. Ro16 to finals for regional leagues will be offline in studio so if that happens over 3 weeks, then I doubt most ESF teams have the resources to send players to NA/EU for several weeks, and I doubt KeSPA teams will do it.

Genna Bain @GennaBain 12s For anyone curious, we chose KR as our region for WCS going forward. Please cheer for us! #axiomfighting
