There are dedicated WCS events in each region in order to qualify for the world finals and in addition to that, events such as MLG, IEM and GSL seasons will award points towards qualification ? Well all in all I must say that I like this anouncement despite the debate which region deserves more or less spots in the finals.

Instead, GSL and OSL count as WCS tournaments.

Definitive statements regarding the events and possible WCS points have not been made yet, however.

Very sad to see blizzard being the one to make foreigners stay outside of korea in hopes of easy money rather than beating the koreans. In the future people will not aim to become better than the koreans, they will aim to become just good enough to make it to the global finals.

I cant imagine any of MVP, MC, Life, Flash, DRG, Leenock, Parting, Rain etc. to NOT play in GSL and only 5 of those will be able to play in WCS GF. So it will be either only 5/6 koreans (host country maybe) or it will be 5 top koreans and 10 koreans who nobody ever heard about that was suddenly better that top EU/NA players. This rules may actually make LESS koreans in the main event.

Also, from the sounds of it, the NA league might not be a walk in the park in any way.

How does this system prevent people foreigners from trying to become better than koreans?

Oh i was wrong NVM | ||
