YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. Holy shit my minuscule gripes will finally be atoned!
No way :D Global Play ftw :D
Edit: I guess global play isn't really live yet. I knew there was a regions button, but it still doesn't work T_T
is it already live or just a prewiew of whats coming ?
Time to help with overloading the Korean servers!

I hope this fixes fps drops
Sweet, cant wait to play against some different styles from different regions. Also its pretty wicked that you can play a different region if yours is down
Hasn't global been live for a couple of weeks already?
I've been playing on different regions for the past two or so months already, but cool they finally released it for everyone without having to do additional stuff. Also GJ doing the 'no more downloading while playing game' stuff.
Finally time to hang out with Flash,NesTea,Life,Parting and the other cool kids...watch out Korea here i come!!!
Sweet patch, cant wait to try global play out. The low video issues is interesting and may explain why I may have been having trouble.Overall, good patch! Thanks blizz!
For those who weren't aware, Global Play has already been live for a couple months - you just had to download the regions.xml file. But good now that everyone knows about it.
Wait what ? Global play had always been live
does this mean i can switch to KR and get more rolled than I do on US?
Great timing! One week before the game basically dies :p Better late than never though. Good features for the people who are staying with wol.

Well, this basically.

So many bugfixes! Beautiful!

YES! My voice language won't be stuck in Chinese anymore!
And Global play is cool too I guess.

Wonder if koreans see this as "my quality of practice is slightly declining"

Global play, cool! I was a bit worried clicking on this, thought my race would get nerfed.
Blizzard what should i do with my 10 accounts? :o
Maybe this means I can actually download it now.
So wait, when is this going live in the EU?
I totally love this update!!! I wish it came 2 years ago! :D
Wow, I am surprised they fixed the video memory bug as I had that very problem, although I have not tested to see if my problem was fixed.
Nice news but a bit late...1 week before HotS
Is the patch already live?
Seems cool!
Do you have separate MMR in different regions? I assume you do.
I'm super confused. Global play has been live for weeks? I've had that region tab for a while using that fix someone posted.... I stopped playing on Europe because I use micro intensive strategies and the slight delay was just really annoying...
the technology is finally here.
Hurray.... NOT... My graphics bug is still here ;/ ....
Didn't we already have this for a few months >< But YAY it's official now! Glad for the bug patch though, few friends encountered some so good to see them be smashed.
rofl....says clinet mismatch. STill straneded on NA!
I suggest all people who use global play should install the Leatrix Latency Fix for better connections across the globe.

There's your answer right there. Global play wasn't implemented in one big swoop, it was gradual preparations of coding were implemented in the patches, and people were abusing some of the global play implementations (i.e. parts that were finished earlier but unreleased) to access other servers. Now that they have officially finished everything, they activated the region button, which had most of its code already implemented since it was finished before everything else.

While I'm unfamiliar with this Leatrix fellow and his projects, I am familiar with adjusting TCPAckFrequency, which is what their "fix" does. It's system-wide tweak that may improve performance for many games, so you don't need to do anything specific for SC2. While I'm not sure how much it'll help with SC2, I very much appreciated the lower latency while playing World of Warcraft.

so how's the ping from west coast to KR server?
Nice, Global Play!
Now im gonna go on KR server and get owned, lol
Edit: KR server not yet patched.. t.t

Just played 3 exciting and latency filled games on SEA server. That was fun. ^_^

Poor Koreans. They're about to have to wade through thousands of EU and US players wanting to play on "better" turf.
I love how there is a link to the IEM stream on the main screen in game. If they continue to do this for major tournaments, tournaments might get significantly more exposure.

Yeah, it will be interesting to see how many foreigners reach masters on their.

isn't global play in for a while now? i had atleast the chance to get owned on the korean server a bit^^

Also just tried playing on sea, 200+ ping, really unplayable. Oh wells.

Going to have to try the Korean ladder come Hots. Hopefully I can also use the portraits I got from playing on a PC Bang during my trip to Korea last summer too!

Oh so this is it......I got another patch last night in SEA so this is what its for lol

How can you tell/change which server/region the launcher is getting patches from? I have a US client but I had been playing some on the KR server. Now I can't get it to download 2.0.5, and trying to log into US kicks me back to the loader again.
Global Play a week before HotS comes out? Nice. Also, there is no lan so unless I want to play with 300 ping I have to stick to NA. Thanks anyways Blizzard....
Global play has been out for a while, for those who didn't know. But the "Change Region" button has finally arrived with all regions accessible with 1 client! Can finally free up some space as I preferred several clients over relocalizer
I already lag on NA server as is, not sure I can even function on the other servers at this point.

IMO there needs to be a mod note at the top of this thread or something that explains that every single time Blizzard releases an expansion for a game there is a patch for the base game that adds in the quality of life features from the expansion. It's not an issue of them not caring enough or being incompetent.
Nice! Time to finally play in Korea!
I got really excited when I saw there was a patch... and then I read the patch did nothing to fix the issues with WoL balance . . . and then punched myself for being excited about something blizzard was doing as a non-zerg player.
edit: their... there... why do we have 2 of these in english language? such a dumb language... and NO i will not learn it properly - what is this communist china?
It surprisingly isn't too laggy from NA to Asia.
is this should be live in eu? client crashes every time here..
Awesome! I haven't been on in a few weeks, so I'll definitely give this a try soon.

Anyone on EU actually have the regions button on their login screen? I was thinking of playing on NA since EU is undergoing maintenance, but even though my game version is 2.0.5 I can't seem to get it to work.

new internet connection just ready for Korean server!!!

More like they will cheese you. KR is very aggressive haha. However, it is still a very fun experience!

still get huge lag when press menu, the game literally freeze for like 20 sec; its really annoying especially when u lose a game and want to make a new one

Indeed, but perhaps we'll just hear alot of "I'm Diamond but i should really be Masters because Blizzard wouldn't promote me.."
And my client got bugged after the patch, SO SAD RIGHT NOW D;

Global play !! This is gonna help guys like me !
I have the EU version of SC2 but I live in Japan. Unlike people here, I'm not looking for better competition on KR server but only because it's the server on which I should have the best ping by far (it's the case with speedtest). Finally I will have a decent ping when I'm not playing with my friends on EU. I have a good connection but still the ping is hurting for good micro.
would have been nicer to have this way before T.T

Thats exactly my experience... I started playing Wol after the HotS beta was done. Rank 1 7pp pts dia with 33-9. but now is the lock so no promotion for me :'(
does anyone know if one still can get promoted by leaving the league and playing the placement match even during the seasion lock?

Now instead 2-3 characters you can have... 16 characters!
4 profiles per each region Double it, because different ranking for Ranked and Unranked automatch.
In reault you got possibility to have 16 profiles instead 2-3 ones

That's something that Blizzard should've done 3 years ago.......
I guess the techonology just wasn't there yet.

Has anyone from NA had any luck getting into KR? I've been trying the past few hours but so far I keep getting game client version issues. I'm assuming its cause korea hasn't been patched yet but I don't 100% know if thats the case.

Damn I was hoping to play tonight haha. Guess I'll have to wait till tomorrow after class to get stomped lol.

I'm confused. Global play already was enabled if you changed the regions.xml file. Does this just make it an official change (without needing to do that) or is it only because I have a SEA copy (that already had the region button) that this approach already worked? It looks like it was working for non-SEA users, so this is just a formality, no?
Fixed a desync that could occur between Mac and PC if an AI was scouted with a cloaked unit. I am so grateful that I'm not the QA who had to figure out how to reproduce that bug.

If you cant see the region selection to the left at login screen, click the icon next to your battle net login name, when you hover over it , it says : back to account entry

You create new account.
Log out than wait a second. "Region" option will pop out on the left side. Change the server, connect and you will be given option to create new account on that server.
