So what does GOM do with his U/D slot anywyas? Does it go to the next in line player so that the group is still full, or do his opponents all get walkover victories?

HE shouldnt accept invitation in that case. Naniwa or Huk never forfeited their matches. And Rain never should have tried to qualify if he wasn't going to play EVERY SINGLE GAME. Same with Grubby. They should be banned forever and never allowed in GSL for leaving. They should walk to the other side of the street if they see a GSL player or caster, head bowed in shame. If Huk forfits a match because he is going to his own wedding, banned for life. You play every single game, that is how passion works. Looks like real-life doesnt exists :D Please tell me you are not serious about the wedding. Of course I'm not serious at all. I am mocking the people who are freaking out about Stephano forfiting a qualifying match for one event to go play in the World Championship for another event. If this were anythign else but GSL, no one would care. But for some reason, if the GSL set a match for the same date you were already planning to go to another event, you should cancel your plans and play in GSL. The dates for World Champions are known for months... and we had many code a ro24 games in this and last week, but no Stephano has to play in the same week like WC. That is the real problem, it is an embarrassment that the GSL cannot find a calendar or go to TL and click on the “Upcoming Events” tab. Artosis knows how to use TL, he could show them how and then they could avoid this problem in the future. "Now see these dates? Don't set the matchs for the white guy on these dates and he can attend. Got it?" too bad stephano could have played in both if he moved his flight a few hours lol you wanna pay a couple grand to do that? considering he has PL too, eg probably would be able to
That sounds like a terrible plan and a waste of money. And PL is a team league, so some other memeber of the team can fill in.

Stephano is probably done with GSL. Tournament season is back in full swing with IEM. He's not going to commit to GSL for that long. Expecting him to do so was naive.

Well considering people get sick, fall down and have parents and family who die, I am sure they have a system for when people have to cancel.

First it lets the rest of the world continue to attempt proving that a foreigner can win in Korea's (World's) biggest and best tournament. GSL is still the gold standard, biggest feather in your cap tournament out there. If a foreigner was actually able to win, shouldn't he also be able to qualify without problems? Qualification for Code A is one or two days, actual Code A is two weeks. I don't see how you have to live in Korea full time to do that.

I can't imagine PL would allow line-up changes after they've already been announced. Means EGTL will probably have to take a forfeit loss that day on Stephano's game.

The worst decision out of everything is, that they didn't delay the up and downs for 2 or 3 weeks and then make them HotS to begin with. Next season is played in HotS anyways, so it doesn't make the smallest sense that U&D are in WoL.
There are already full tournaments running HotS (see IEM), even before HotS is released. I don't get it, why GOM doesn't do it the same way...

I don't get it. GOM said they took every other tournament schedule in consideration when making groups / scheduling GSL matches. So Why on earth was Stephano scheduled to play 1 before day IEM...

Wow that sucks... So does he get to keep his code a spot?

You should've read the entire thread bro.
First off Stephano plays on March 7th. This match is on March 4th in Korea time. Also, Yonghwa plays on March 5th in IEM and has yet to forfeit.
Secondly, Stephano is scheduled to play in Proleague LATER THAT SAME DAY. This line-up is submitted by the management of EG-TL. That implies there's been some miscommunication on EG's part. Hell, notice that GOM made the group scheduled to play at 11:10 KST which is way earlier than usual groups so Stephano can play in Proleague.
