SC Plushies for my store, what do you think?
Protoss Pillow! 30" (2.5 feet!)

I have the design for Broodlord, Pylon, Colossus and Tempest done though, those should be made within this month :3
Later on I am working on Supply Depot pillows, Overlord plush and a big Hydralisk 
Suggestions? Ideas?

While I finish up the Broodlord and Colossus plushies, I thought I'd bridge the gap with 2 small projects, these are first draft, but I will add more details I hope. But so far its more for fun.
Oh! Also working on some Xmas stockings

Phoenix price lowered by $10.
Also, if anyone wants a Broodlord, the first photos of the completed project will be posted on FB within a week. It is almost done. I rather love how it came out, only thing that needs work right now is the mouth.
And any future ideas will be appreciated, at the moment I see that people want Dragoons, Immortals and Banelings.
So I will focus on those while the Colossus gets completed

I've seen Carbot's Zergling done before. I haven't done it because I don't know how good Carbot is about other people selling his designs XD But it's quite simple, I should huh? :D

I do have plans to make carriers with little interceptors but that'd happen mid year if I am lucky. Carriers are capital ships and they deserve detail and care in making them.

For sure, they are adorable, but I dont think he can trademark them because they are based on the SC designs which are trademarked already including its likeness. Blizzard is just smart and doesnt go after people who make stuff they dont.

I'm trying to do units that people haven't attempted, but if people want banelings I'd do them :D Specially for HotS with their Campaign upgrade XD

2 people already have and am in the process of making them :3 They are always challenging :D
I may do an infestor soon I love it. Prob my fav unit after Hydras. I think I'd add the little Neural Parasite tentacle too

That is a great idea acually. Also really good for cosplay. I suppose the problem plushie wise is that it wont feel as sturdy as one made out of cardboard or aluminum. But I could do one and see how it fares

Also what could work well is if you used a sort of semi-solid piece of foam inside the gauss rifle instead of plush stuff. You'd want it to be soft enough that kids could still hit each other with them, but solid enough that the gun barrel doesn't droop when it's being held.

When the WoL beta came out I loooved the observer portrait, I hate they took that out. But I concur. I think I can make a rather cute plush of the observer I mean it saves us 'Toss from DTs, Ghosts and Infestors, they deserve love.
The VoidRay I do have a sketch, but I want it to have something as its beam, so Im looking for the right material to use as beams
Like opening it and having a beam come out or something XD

Hmm I suppose it does. I wanted to make the tentacles, but I decided it would serve best as a normal pillow rather than having parts attached. That way the actual future overlord pillow will be uniquely separate.

Thank you! I do have plans for a carrier, but as I said before Colossus, Tempest and Broodlord have to go first.
I just have a set concept for those and want them to be carried out.
However I do have concept sketches for carriers, so they WILL be made Probably with companion interceptors
Banshee's (and Terran in general) are usually not my focus, but I do have plans for them. I think I can make a cute banshee However, regarding terran I really want to do the SUpply Depot pillow and the Widow Mine plushy before the banshee Still, it will be done, so follow us on FB to get updates XD

But yes, Zerg make better plushies, I think they are more "Animal" as we are used to seeing so we can make them cute based on similar faces (like the :3 face) that can be added to them. Protoss is way too majestic and Terran seems too MegaBlocks. But they all can be made adorable if you know how to manage them XD
I do want to make a probe (plushy mineral/gas included). I will someday soon.

I am really looking forward to the pylon. Seems like the perfect thing to be made into a plush.
I like the overlord pillow more than the phoenix plush just because of the OL-pillows simplicity.
The Pylon should look cute :3 Smallish too so it won't be as expensive as the Phoenix, unless you want it giant sized XD

Although the orders keep me afloat and allow me to do more units.
I AM doing a Colossus and a Broodlord. Designs are pretty much done. So I am working on the pattern and getting the fabric. So you should be able to see a Broodlord and Colossus around the shop very soon :3
Terran might take abit longer. But I'll try to focus on at least one Terran because I havent given them any love XD

:D It should be ready before HotS comes out.
Price should be the same.
Only 2 that are currently planned to be higher are Hydralisk and Mutalisk. Because of the complexity in the plush. But those are abit farther ahead XD

Just one thing, and Im sad to say it, if you mean as a gift for the 14th of Feb. then I'm not sure it can get there on time.
This is due to the fact that its international mail, and even though the US and Canada are neighboring countries it takes longer than domestic. It also has to be made but honestly if its a rush order I can rush that particular pillow soon.
The problem is the mailing time. 
But I am willing to give it a try if you do want to try it, I just can't guarantee the delivery date being the 14th.

This is one of the models I'm also working on
(Well I am actually working on ALOT, but this one is one that has priority at the moment too).
So the design is partly made. Im just debating the middle part.
If you look at the unit, there's a small city within the field that protects it.
Simple thing would be to make the orb just plain blue, but I've been thinking about making a small spiky city inside very rough and a transparent orb to better represent it.
Im still debating it.
But I can and will make it

Why have a flat plushie? I never understood that. Unless that OL is a blanket I cannot imagine that being soft or fluffy enough to be a pillow.

It's not flat, it does have quite a bulge to it. I just took the photo before I got to fill it completely.
Might not look like it but it was actually pretty darn comfy. It has alot of fluff. Also, the lighting didn't get the fluff as good.

If you make money with Blizzard stuff they're entitled to a share.
Make sure that not some day Blizzard's lawyers send you a friendly letter asking for 50% royalties on all your sales.

No, I totally get your point. But honestly, first it's a waste of their time, because based on the cost of material and making them. Profit isn't that high, so they'll be disappointed and they would have spent alot more in lawyers compared to what they'll gain. Also they alienate fanbase that support plushies of one of their franchises that they, themselves, have neglected to act upon. If that day comes I'd be happy to give what they ask. They just might be disappointed in their gain and I think they know this. Based on my profit, I really make it more for the pleasure of making them and sharing them than actual huge profit.

What makes you believe Blizzard could only take part of your profit? Your sales is based on reproducing Starcraft characters that are Blizzard's intellectual property, Blizzard can request a reasonable share of your turnover and you can end up losing money.
If you think they will not because you're too small a fish, you may be underestimating Blizzard's determination to enforce their intellectual property.
Don't take any risk, a simple e-mail could be enough to get their authorization.

While I finish up the Broodlord and Colossus plushies, I thought I'd bridge the gap with 2 small projects, these are first draft, but I will add more details I hope. But so far its more for fun.

I am making them out of fleece now, rather than minky. So, it takes about a week or 2. I try to stay within the one week.
Except for the current orders I have because those are minky and it takes longer to work with them

I might make an update to the first post. But, I really need to pay for college, so I will lower the Phoenix price if anyone's interested.
It will be made out of fleece now though, minky fabric will be more expensive.
Also, if anyone wants a Broodlord, the first photos of the completed project will be posted on FB within a week. It is almost done. I rather love how it came out, only thing that needs work right now is the mouth.
And any future ideas will be appreciated, at the moment I see that people want Dragoons, Immortals and Banelings.
So I will focus on those while the Colossus gets completed

Based on the quality of the products (not saying they are terrible, just clearly not perfect either), if they ever started to make a significant amount of money blizzard would more likely just produce and sell their own at a lower cost (bulk) with a better design. Which in affect would put the OP out of business.
Typically blizzard doesn't enforce it's IP control unless it's damaging in some significant way to their products or profit. Hence why they went after KeSPA when they cut blizzard out because there was a significant amount of money involved that they were not getting a piece of.
Example of them not enforcing it is that technically you have to get blizzards permission to run any SC2 tournament and a lot of smaller scale ones never do.
The only world I could see them go after the OP would be if they started to make plush toys and the OP was beating them in or close to them in sales which is highly unlikely.

Blizzard, like any major companies pays it lawyer an annual fee. Any work required by the lawyer for that year is covered in that fee. OP should not be worried about blizzard taking his profits, he should be worried about copyright infringement.

Honestly, if Blizzard made plushies, pillows or any of that stuff, these things wouldnt be made in the first place.
They are made because we lack it and we want it. How many years have people asked for it and it was never done or produced?
If Blizz starts making plushes or pillows or stuff, trust me, I'd stop making them. These are made mainly for friends and fam, but why not let others have them too? Since they dont even exist. Its not like the profit is too high either.
And yes, afraid of copyright infringement is right. The moment they say to stop, it will be stopped.
But the fanbase wants and needs the plushies. If they aren't going to spend some of their millions into producing better plushies, why stop others from spending work and money on making them for others.

Just to address the whole copyright thing. I am not the only one doing plushies and I think those of us who do them know about it. Profits aren't amazing, so it's not like we are laughing our way to the bank with the orders. We mainly do it for the sake of giving people plushies of things they love that the official company doesnt want to do. You think they dont have the money to do them? How many people wanted one for HotS LE? They either take ages or don't make them. So some of us took the time to make them. We don't do it for free, but we certainly dont earn enough from them. When, and if, they start making them, I'll be done making them. I dont seek to compete or take business from Blizz. I love that company.
But I hate when you want some plush of your favorite character and you never find it. You either make it or ask someone to make it.
So this is like a friend asking me to make one for them and paying me for the material and abit for my time. Same exact thing.
I do them per order, so in a sense you are my friend asking me to do it for you; I don't have a stash of them and mass selling them. It's custom ordering.
We know the risk. Trust me, I think those who make it do. We just want to keep making plushies, because we love the game, the characters and the sense of having those characters around with us. I actually wish Blizz got that and made official ones.
I appreciate the concern and advice though.

Just to have a small update:
Baneling is now fatter, which makes it look alot better. Different fabric too, more cuddly.
The back "bulb" or butt it has may change of fabric to, to something more cool and soft XD I'm working with that.
The green bulbs on the top may also get bulgier, rather than just glued. But I like how it looks now.

NEW Phoenix plush!
This one is smaller, the bigger one is now called a pillow, because its about 2.5 feet!
This new phoenix is cuter and smaller at around 15". I LOVE it. Hope you do too.
