Life of a pro gamer pretty tough. FXOTear: First time qualifying for Code A GSL. How do you feel? I’ve practiced so hard but I’ve always had bad luck thus returning poor results. I was extremely disappointed and I was losing passion for the game. So I thought to myself; this is going to be my last attempt and I practiced like a madman. And after getting through the qualifiers…all that hard work I put in, all the sweat and tears I put in, it’s finally paying off.

Even moreso now that they'd have to switch to HotS and the KeSPA crew would be more even by then. Too much work, little to no-pay off, high risks, etc. It's sorta sad to see the reality of progaming with loads of players who have been training and investing time like mad through years to not achieve anything that would make them fulfilled. Now I'm wondering what will Tear do if he gets knocked out in first round of Code A.

I still think esports can have a bright future but it will have to be a different game that leads the charge. LoL could possibly be that game seeing as it's by far the most popular atm, but I hope some other types of competitive games make it big as well.

Also, to the person above me... please don't start that again. SC2 is doing perfectly fine -_-

All of them probably exhausted from practicing SC2 and not achieving notable results, incoming Kespa pros who are eating everything up in sight, and the inclusion of an expansion months from now that will only serve to make the scene even more unpredictable. Sad turn of events, but I wish them much luck in the future. I only hope their transition back into the 'real' world is a kind one.

Still hate to see him retire like this. The worst kind of player that you love to hate: the one that leaves so you can't hate them anymore :<

They probably weren't paid by FXO and they were wasting their time doing something that they weren't good at. I can't see it effecting their GSTL team all that much since it pretty much relies on Gumiho, Tear and Leenock to win anyway. lol? Whale was known for his creep spread and Asd for his micro. Both would come out in team leagues from time to time. The problem isn't their skill level, it's just that there isn't enough viewers or money floating around the sc2 scene to keep supporting so many pro gamers. As viewer numbers continue to decline, so too does the amount of professionals.
