So wait, fungal isn't getting changed into a projectile? That was quite possibly the best change they could have made if they're not going to make it a slow instead of a root.

I saw terrans yesterday at IPL lose purely because they got fungaled and do nothing about it.

I fucking hate infestors so damn match. This is a joke.

This does seem very messy. The infested terran change does very little. The problem is the sheer volume and the ease with which they can pull this off. If they're going to do small changes, I recommend that they reduce the range that Infested Terrans can be cast to 7 or 6. What this does is put infestors inside Colossus and Thor range for longer as well as far inside Seige Tank range and forces the clever use of burrow to really pull off the mass army of infestors trick. They should also reduce the armour of infested terran eggs to zero, as well as nerfing the hitpoints to 70 (two tank shots) thus guaranteeing both storm kills and tank kills.

That might have the effect of reducing how strong infested terrans are in the short term. Does nothing about fungal, of course.

I'd also change the Raven so that Seeker Missiles can be fired from range 9 rather than the free upgrade. That puts them on par with Fungal Growth and means that they aren't sacrificial lambs to fungal anymore.

It is. It was only the doesn't-affect-Psionic part which was removed.

So many people don't seem to understand this and go apeshit about it... we need a mod note or the OP to edit his post with clarification or something.

Ohhh damn I forgot about that. Sorry about over-reacting.

I still don't get how it was too much of a big change though, it just meant zerg needed other units to deal with warp prisms/etc. Ah well hopefully the fungal change will still happen in HoTS because it's a bit of a joke right now.

Well, infestors will still remain extremly OP and unbalanced because blizzard think it's just absolutely fine. Worthless IT change too, btw. Way to spit in our face by Blizzard.

We just published a new custom version of Antiga Shipyard, called "Antiga Shipyard (1.5.3 Balance)," in which we’re testing small balance changes to StarCraft II. This map has different balance adjustments than the previous version we published on November 20. With this test, we’re continuing to consider the meta-game around Zerg. Here’s the situation:

1. After testing the previous adjustment that made Psionic units immune to Fungal Growth, we found it to be too big of a change. We've reverted that change for now.


After my post in which I bitched a good deal, I looked at the post on the Blizzard forums. That was some awfully selective copy/pasting from the OP. It pretty clearly shows that they're only reverting the "Psionic units immune" change.

This is fine, the Psionic change wasn't really as necessary as Fungal Growth as projectile seems to be. I can take DTs being fungaled if we can dodge it now.

is this really what u think? in my opinion I think they are just coming up with excuses/reasoning to not touch the balance because if the change they made goes bad they need to change whole lot of stuff when HOTS is going to come out soon.

The projectile change is planned for HotS.
Fungal in WoL remains unchanged.

fungal become a projectile is the most stupid idea ever.

too slow: fungal is now completely useless and blinkstalker and marines become retardedly OP.

too fast: nothing changes, chain fungal still possible.

just remove the root and make fungal a slow already.

the hp nerf for IT is very nice though. mass IT will become a lot worse. 80 might be too much though since now 1 storm can kill 20 IT eggs which might be too much.

Eggs regenerate 1 HP over 1storm, so they won't die. And yes, storm should counter ITs.
And 80 is really not that much, really not.

Projectile helps slightly. It's as you say, but statistically, it won't be like "clump of marines and I'm in range, DIE DIE DIE". It could be more like "clump of marines and I'm in range; a damn, they were moving and the wrong infestor shot the projectile, so I missed a few of them."

Still can't kill eggs, which would actually be a fair tradeoff considering. The regen of eggs leave them with 1 hp, and only a 1 second window to cast storm for the full effect.

Egg health reduced to 80 (was 100).
they are just mocking on all over the world.
one storm can't kill egg because of regen.

I saw their statement as well and I will add one thing: IF THIS IS TRUE WHY THE F*** ARE YOU EVEN TOUCHING ZERG? They are a walking/talking contradiction. Dustin's threads should really be in a philosophy class of how NOT to prove a statement.

This has to be the most ridiculous statement I've heard in a long time when they are the ones creating "call to action" threads. Blizzard, please just own up to the imbalanced level of infestors and move forward. I understand how "playing down" the problem with imbalance is a good mitigating control for job security, but Dustin and David should just quit at this point.
