Well, AoE2 was surely a cool game, but some major design flaws made it impossible to take off as a well-rounded and spectator friendly e-sports. | ||

Aswell as BW, CS introduced infamous Battle reports after matches since like year 2k. They grew together, one was mainly Europe/America one for Asia. Both were the biggest pre moba/sc2(current times) esports. | ||

However, "gg" was used as a tapout (surrender signal) as early as mid 90's, back in the Doom / Quake / Descent days pre-Starcraft. As early as 95 or 96. I know because we used to use it. | ||
