if he did the guy is going to fall from existance as a streamer. LoL is NOT a good spectator sport. destiny can shit on SC2 and praise LoL all he wants, but LoL is a BORING game to watch when compared to SC2. his viewer counter dropped to under 1000. he gets 900 viewers now, thats how bad he is falling right now.

He is probably just loosing his SC2 fanbase, and if he becomes as "famous" as he was in starcraft, he is going to get those few thousand viewers back again sometime.

Losing the fan base who made him who he was? Sounds like a genius marketing strategy. No it's not because it's a stupidly impulsive decision, no it's so he can work from the ground up.
Anyways I feel i'm falling away from the OP's point. Blizzard making changes, all good for the right direction. GG thread

Considering the fact that LoL is an easier game to pick up than SC2, and that LoL is FREE, i think it is pretty nice numbers for SC2. Right now it is aprox 79k for LoL and 43k for SC2. Again, if you consider the MASSIVE difference in the size of the player base, SC2 is doing very well.
I saw 141k for LoL and 55k for sc2 (red+blue even though there's probably a lot of the same people on both) while both had games on. Pretty pointless numbers when you have to consider who's playing...

Starcraft is dying because of Blizzard, and League of legends is rising because of Riot. The only other element is how League of Legends has a huge casual base and a large teamplay element that is more important than mechanics. Starcraft: Mechanics, and the pros have to think alot. League of Legends: Mechanics up to a point, and the pros spend nearly of there practice time talking through decisions working as a team theorycrafting planning plotting analyzing studying and thinking. There is just no comparison to how it feels to have a perfectly oiled premade team, and I for one have achieved a much greater level of immersion in League of Legends.

So your argument why LoL is better than SC is because after a while in LoL you stop improving? Yeah, that doesn't really sell the game to me.

This tournament has had such awesome games. SC2 isn't going anywhere.

If you're going to play a moba, why play anything other than dota 2?

First lan rts experience was bw 2v2v2v2, can we have it back? :\

The fact that the game is 1v1 and very time intensive shrinks the casual fanbase size considerably. The whole casual 1v1 thing will help fix this problem, but making team play more viable could help as well. Ultimately, if blizzard put more effort into making their game popular, it would stop dying.

ROFL. Go tell this to the 12k+ viewers that tune in to some of the livestreams on Solomid or the close to a million people that watched the League Season 2 finals. You're telling me that LoL isn't a spectator sport?
EDIT: My mistake, Riot said they had over 8 million unique viewers tune into their stream

You must live under a rock... The top streamers in Leagues most of the time doubles the top streamer of starcraft 2 in an average day. Leagues championship had 1.1 million watching the stream and 8 million through stream and t.v world wide.. Sc2 hasn't passed 500 thousand for one event let alone 8 million. Leagues is the most watched video game currently. The reason why destiny wont get many viewers is because he is bad at leagues and there are really funny and engaging streamers for leagues who are also incredibly good.

Moba games do have a very dynamic meta game as the developers aren't afraid to buff/nerrf items and heroes. Moba games have more engagements/battles in relation to sc2 which contributes to the high entertainment factor. That's why the deathball syndrome have a negative impact on the entertainment factor as the battles tend to be very short.
