People don't swamp sponsors with letters and emails and freak the fuck out when Idra says "inappropriate" things.. honestly this community needs to get its head on straight if there any hope of esports growing.

Come on. This is not even close to an accurate summary of what people are talking about.
I've read the whole thread. We've got tons of people here who are completely oblivious about the law
What aspects of the law?
and/or are fucking animals.
I don't think saying this makes you right about anything, although I appreciate that this is an emotionally charged subject.

I don't know about other countries, but in the United States having sex with an underage person is literally called statutory rape. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Statutory_rape That is why the term is being used here.
Have you read what you just linked? Also some still talk about RAPE... which is, wow, thats mindblowing. Rape is possibly the worst thing you can do to a woman, ever. I'd put any rapist against the wall and shoot him without hesitation but calling Stephano a rapist when it PROBABLY was mutual sex ... probably even drunk is seriously way over the top.
Statutory rape, fine, we got a term here... but the sound of it is worse than the act in itself and especially if you consider the whole situation. Its not like he's a teacher and abused her into sex or the kinds of it. No one here does even know the whole story and still jumps on the witch hunt.
Also to be fair, its 2012... in my opinion that law is flawed as the overall age for having sex is decreasing. On the side note, if it would be the other way around, it wouldn't be considered a crime at all which is funny.

True words. I feel sad for the ASUS and DH people.
OMG people need to chill the fuk out. A joke IS A FUKIN JOKE. How come people are so caught up in what people say. Like it's more real to say something than to do something. I mean politicians and priests do that shit for real and they almost never get punished.

There's no point in telling us, it's always SRS who does this stuff and you cannot convince them to stop they legitimately believe they're always in the right.

The part of the community that freaks the fuck out on Reddit and TL, e-mails sponsors and stuff is not the major segment that needs to grow.
lol EG are joke, Stephano was just having fun with his friend and it doesnt matter if community doesnt thinks that joke is funny, because it was a private conversation ...
They are not a joke, they are businessmen and do whats good for business. I bet Stephano understands this as well and there's no bad blood between them. You see, stupid bandwagons are like explosives: can be very useful for many different purposes, but you need to treat them very carefully. Sometimes it's best not to wait till they start writing mails to your sponsors.
"§ 182 Abs. 1 StGB verbietet sexuelle Handlungen mit einem Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren, wenn der Jugendliche durch Ausnutzung einer Zwangslage dazu gebracht wurde.
Its not allowed to have sex or sexual acts with a person below the age of 18 if you are abusing a situation (i.e teacher/student, "I'll fail you if you don't sleep with me")
In Abs. 2 werden sexuelle Handlungen eines über 18-Jährigen gegen ein Entgelt mit einem Jugendlichen unter 18 Jahren verboten.
You may not have sex with a person below the age of 18 and charge money for it. (A hooker can't sleep with you, not allowed)
This part says, that you can't have sex with a person below the age of 16 if you are above 21 years old IF you abuse the lack of ability for taking responsibility own sexual actions. The ability for taking own sexual actions can't be judged by the age alone, but has to be judged for every single case seperately. Being sexually unexperienced doesn't do justice for lacking the ability of taking responsibility for your own sexual actions.
That would be 'Statutory Rape' in Germany (Sexueller Missbrauch von Jugendlichen).
MC publicly threatened Huk's life. I'm not even sure if he threatened me or Huk because he used "you" and that means he wants to kill me right?
I propose everyone sends a letter to SK's sponsors to stop supporting this murderer. We cant have killers just threatening people around on the internet. who knows how many people has MC killed in the past. this has to stop.
fellow inquisitors, let the sc2 scene burn in the cleansing flames of the unquestionable authority of reddit posters.
are you serious ? everyone understands that this is just fun mocking by mc.
if you make stupid comments about having sex with children, things get more complicated.
so bottom line, the problem is that not everyone understands Steph made a joke.
so the complication only happens because people are dumb.
who would have thought.
no, you have to make sure people will understand you are just joking. i repeat, you have to make sure.
I seem to recall Stephano tweeted "it was a joke between friends sorry"
so seems like you just posted for no reason at all.
Actually that's your post that doesnt make sense. A tweet that happened some time after the joke took place has nothing to do with the content and wording of it.
the whole "evidence" is a jpg image taken out of context.
Stephano's claim that it was a joke is just as good as a proof as that jpg.
not to mention that what you quoted 100% negates what the other dude said, so your "makes no sense" comment made no sense.
it negates nothing lol, you just dont understand it. I'll try to rephrase his words for you, mb you can understand it eventually.
no, you have to make sure people will understand you are just joking. i repeat, you have to make sure.
If you meet a friend in a pub you dont great him with grim face saying "I'll kill you". You can say "Remember that... <something>... I'll kill you for that". The difference is the presence of context that makes the "I'll kill you part" a joke. Now, some people can do the first kind of joke, but that would be not funny at all. There is a small chance that Stephano is that kind of people who are just terrible at joking and making good sense but somehow I doubt it. To Stephano's joke again. It totally lacks the part that would make it funny, that kind of context is totally absent, there is not even a single smiley. And it all ends with Stephano freaking out that the chat was being streamed. Aren't jokes meant to be retold so others can enjoy them? That part shows that Stephano knew exactly that his so called "joke" is not that. On the other hand there is the explanation that totally makes sense why there is no context and why the wording is what it is, because he actually wasn't joking. Of course noone can be 100% sure but how people would assume that he joked is more probable than that he didnt is beyond me. And now to your answer to the other guys post. What the tweet has to do with the fact that the Stephano's joke totally lacks context that would make it funny?
One more thing. I also find it funny that though you dont get Stephano's joke yourself you are somehow sure it is one and if people dont see it as a joke you call them
so the complication only happens because people are dumb

The age of consent in France is 15, as specified by Article 227-25, which reads: "The commission without violence, constraint, threat or surprise of a sexual offence by an adult on the person of a child under fifteen years of age is punished by five years' imprisonment and a fine of €75,000.

Incontrol: Man, I've watched that shitty "Black Swan movie 'cause Natalie Portman is so hot..." IdrA: She's even hotter in Thor! Stephano: "You should check out Leon the Professional!"
On a more serious note, I find this reaction to be really unexpected and I would have thought EG would have just ignored that incident. I don't think Stephano deserves the witch hunt he is in now, albeit making a really inappropriate joke, but EG can't just tolerate conduct like that.

It's only expected, after looking at the posts here. Better for EG to be the one handing out internal punishment, than to have the world punish him for it.

Cloud has the point. Please make a new ''couch'' episode about those kids, which only are harming eSports. I remember Stephano tweeting HasuObs: "Go kill some jews if you have to much time and you are bored." Not everybody can handle Stephano's humor, thats for sure. But please kids, don't run to the sponsors and try to force harming reactions.

Okay, the age of consent in France is 15 years. Do you have any evidence Stephano had sex with a girl in France who was 14 years old, and whose age he didn't make a reasonable effort to determine beforehand (applicable in French cases as corroborated by earlier posters)? If you do, shouldn't you be talking to the Police nationale instead of TL?
