As emotionally invested as people are on this topic, TL rules still apply. That includes flaming and ad hominem attacks. |

Everyone says stuff like this, but guess what? Naniwa got sponsored. Idra remains sponsored (keeps his unprofessional behaviour relegated to DJWheat-run talk shows where the entire community turns a blind eye), and so on.
Destiny will find his way if he wants to - at the end of the day all that really matters is if he improves his play at MoW and posts good results at a tournament. His role as 'entertainer on stream' doesn't depend on a team that has him on on watch every hour of every day.

If Root were going to release him for that reason, then why let him join in the first place? Surely it was exceedingly obvious at that time that something along these lines would happen sooner or later.

I mean, the guy continues to get involved in all kinds of terrible shit and then goes on his stream and tries to tell people how to be a good person. Like, dude, practice what you preach. Maybe if you acted like half the person you tell other people to be you wouldn't have had any of this crap happen to you. I'm honestly not sorry for him.
For those trying to defend him in this incident I have a few questions for you:
1) I see a lot of people hating on the girl for what she did, and saying "oh it's no big deal what Destiny did to start it". Why is it okay what destiny did but not what she did? He violated her trust by sharing her naked pics with his friends and so she violated his by using his passwords to show people his naked pictures. They are the same thing.
2) How do you like a guy that threatens to have a girls' scholarship revoked and fired from her job? Like what the fuck dude? She posted a picture of your penis, so fucking what. If you didn't want people to see it don't take a god damn picture of it. Also she did nothing to mess with your livelihood so on what grounds do you have to fuck with hers? And even if you can somehow argue that she did mess with your livelihood, then you started it and you should live with the consequences.
ROOT did the right thing letting him go. It's a guarantee that he will get into some other kind of stupid shit that becomes public within the next few months.
We're defending Destiny because he did something in private that had nothing to do with the public and wouldn't have changed anything if it was kept private. What he did was wrong, I agree. But honestly, this stuff is much more common than you think. I'm sure other known members of the community do this type of stuff all the time. However, that doesn't mean we should get them all fired. Stop acting like you and the rest of the community has to be SO PERFECT. We're all human beings we make mistakes. If we fire everyone for every little mistake they make, well then we would have no scene whatsoever.

He was cooperative, active, talkative and open-minded towards other people and not remotely condescending or rude. He was a likeable character one-on-one and completely comfortable and willing to bend his time to fit team matters and matches.
He may not get the achievements everyone holds high standards for, but he had the attitude and cooperative nature to make him so easy to work with and that goes a long way, at least from my experiences and work (as little as it may be).
Very unfortunate to see Root-Gaming let him go.
Unfortunately he is a fucking douchebag as well-.-

Or a total lack of foresight? Actually, it's neither. Picking up destiny makes them look good until he does something that doesn't look good, and they drop him like a stone. This makes them look good as well, and it convinces people incapable of critical thought that root is dedicated to 'professionalism' and 'furthering esports' and whatever else catz said in his form letter.
Just like any other player on any team...and we say kespa is bad with how they treat players!

It's kind of weird seeing him getting done for something he did in private away from public. Also that girl is batshit insane. She suddenly reminded me of all the crazy shit some girls have done in my life to get back at their once loved one.
Although it's probably not right, as they are both in the wrong (more so on the girl) I could also see myself wanting to ruin the girl who leaked pictures of my dick to the public and got me fired from my professional sc2 team.

Destiny is one of the things I love most about Starcraft at the moment, and I've been following since the time Boxer was hot shit.
From what I can gather, this has all lead to Destiny going semi-underground. He'll stream, but he won't talk as much and he'll stop being active on forums.
Congratz people; you've just, effective immediately, removed the thing I loved the most about the SC scene. All this drama doesn't mean jack shit. Nothing that has happened here should have any impact on anything at all. The SC2 community is so busy legitimatizing itself as a sport and proper community that it has forgotten what all this is about. We all love Starcraft and should do that together. Things like this should be fun, not mindbogglingly painful.
We have so few entertaining people in this community, why the FUCK would we try so hard to 'kill' them?

Sponsorship money talks, that's why
Destiny's streaming right this instant, to as many people as he was at this time yesterday. It just doesn't say ROOT in his name. He's doing what he always does, and I'm still entertained.

Because some people honestly do not care and that will hurt us in the end.

So after reading the OP I'm a bit confused; someone from ROOT must have given this girl the logs? Surely this would make Destiny want to leave the team? I wouldn't want to be in a team with people you can't trust, even though I've acted poorly. Who was it and why?
Sorry if this was answered somewhere in the thousands of posts :s

Good riddance I must say. I would care about team such as ROOT if it has at least some standards and personally I'm interested more about the games than just drama queens (like Destiny).

No. It really doesn't. You get away with DUI's, rape, drug use, etc. Just those three are already drastically worse than sharing a picture of a girl with 2 buddies.
