As emotionally invested as people are on this topic, TL rules still apply. That includes flaming and ad hominem attacks. |

"Showing pictures of your girls to your friends" is your very definition of being an adult?

This is a gross hyperbola, we're not talking about criminal accusations when it comes to Destiny. Exactly. We don't even need a hypothetical example - we can compare Luxury, accused of (rather shocking) domestic abuse. Pretty much nobody is on his side for that, and I'd imagine if he still had a team to be kicked off, he would be.
Obviously, there is a difference in that case and this one, since public opinion is quite different between the two. Luxury's case is far more severe, and a legal issue - Destiny's is not. Whether that is an appropriate dividing line is another story.

It was in response to:

there is so many people intruding in his privacy make me sick.
In this "example", It is a personal and private issue and not related to SC2 or a team.
The deal here is that progamers (yes, even people who aren't very "pro" but are famous: such as Destiny) are held as idols to people all around the world and are most definitely in the spot light; as such, they should be held to higher standards. This is why professional athletic organizations (NFL, FIFA, UFC, ATP, WTA etc...) hold players accountable for their actions on and off the field. If you ever want e-sports to be taken seriously, we must act the same.
Also, despite what the first guy I quoted said, this is related to SC2 because it was a violation / attack on a member of our community. Even if it wasn't though, people in a position of spotlight / fame should be held to a higher standard.

So where do we draw the line? Obviously privately showing a couple of buddies some nude pics someone sent to you is way over the line and deserves a lynching. But what about not putting your trash in the trash bin? Or playing loud music disturbing your neighbours late at night? Or speeding? That shit's illegal and may endanger the lives others! You have a good point. Contacting sponsors may be a questionable action. But I think whether it is one's business or not is also debateable. As Edmund Burke once stated: "All that is necessary for evil to succeed is for good men to do nothing." If the consequence of people whining to the sponsors is him getting fired, then it's certainly not a punishment fitting the crime. I believe contacting his employer (ROOT) is a much better way of voicing you opinion, or maybe just discussing it in the forum.

It doesn't matter if the conversation was private or public, or that the leak of the fact that he send dicks to random fangirl was not his intention, but the sponsors and team images have been as a result.
Fairly good reasons to be pissed about. The whys and hows don't really matter

As for sharing nude pictures - it is not my cup-of-tea, but in some groups of friends these things are considered normal, and it is a 'gentleman's agreement' that these pictures are only for watching, not for sharing. What the BlueTea did was ILLEGAL.
Just turn it the other way around for a second... a girl shares a nude pic of Destiny in private with her friends, and Destiny shares (via a high-profile twitter account) nude pics of the girls private parts with the rest of the word. An absolute shitstorm would ensue, en nobody would blame the girl here.
Destiny could absolutely file a lawsuit here and claim for financial loss- I don't think he will (or should), and the girl should be very, very thankful for that.
Both actions were illegal. This "private" conversation stopped becoming "private" when 2 people (who were not given permission to see the pictures) were included and shown the pictures. Whether you show 2 people or 200,000 people doesn't matter in terms of legality.

Let me preface by saying I don`t think contacting sponsors to vent your frustration is the right choice....BUT for those who are offended who do they go to? ROOT clearly does not give a shit. Destiny does not give a shit.
Personally I think those contacting sponsors should just completely ignore his immaturity and just not follow the team if they are that mad. Although people saying fans should give teams a chance to make decisions is silly in this case, because ROOT(and other teams) is only doing this because of sponsors not because of their own values and standards.

Catz will listen and care if enough people will tell him that this and that is bullshit and not acceptable if its reasonable. Too bad nobody actually tries that, but instead get their pitchforks.

Yes, I seriously am. Not putting trash in the bin hurts the environment, might kill innocent animals and makes the world a less pleasant place for everyone. The only difference is if someone doesn't put his trash in the bin, his action are actually something that concerns me, because it actually affects me. If some random girl send nude pics to a guy she barely knows and he shows it to a coulpe of his buddies, it doesn't concern me at all. It's a private matter between the two of them.
Edit: But let's continue. Sheth is driving 60mph when the speedlimit is 55mph. Surely he should get cut from TeamLiquid, right? He could've killed someone.

Let's try and clarify this then.
Situation A.
Share some nudes with a girl. You could care a less about her , or her feelings so you show the pics to your friends and laugh about how ugly you think she is like the immature jackass you are.
-Yea I'm sure this happens a lot, because their are a lot stupid shits out there who are more worried about some type of boasting then showing any amount of respect to another person.
Situation B
Share some nudes with a girl. You care about her and her feelings, You would never betray her trust by doing something like showing her naked body to your friends for whatever reason.
-Yea not a lot of people like this around.
So you're right. I'm sure it does happen a lot. What makes this more amusing is that the dipshit from situation A screws himself over when his "private" conversation becomes not so private.
"Oh you don't understand, I was being an immature prick behind closed doors" Nice, but nobody cares. You show zero respect for someone and take it farther by actually taking the time out to ridicule them. Then you act surprised when that shit comes back to bite you in the ass? Come on. What kind of stupid prick puts himself in that situation then tries to claim the moral highground, like he should be put on some pedestal.
Respect isn't just a "some of the time" kind of thing. It's not like makeup you put on before going out for the night, or something you try to do when your at MLG. It's just common fucking decent respect for people. This is such an obvious lesson to be taken away from this, but I severely doubt a person as narcissistic as Destiny will ever learn that lesson, no matter how hard it slaps him in the face.
