It's just GOM trying to get the best return on investment for their tournament. KESPA invests a huge amount of money in these players, they don't just have to hand them over to a competitor before they're 100% ready. You could equally say GOM is trying to destroy Proleague's integrity by overworking the BW stars and bashing them in the non-prestigious Code A/B qualifiers.

Think of the shame if a GOM player wins OSL. That and I doubt they think they have 32 people good enough to control Code S at the moment. Give them 1 more season. GomTV Classic is the most famous example of where GOM and KeSPA didn't work together in the past.

But how many of the top players in the world in SC2 actually get a salary? If being good and exposed to the foreign was all it took? Shouldn't teams like Prime, ST, MVP, etc how HUGE international sponsorship deals which would allow them to pay their players salaries like Kespa? Face it, no matter how good you are as a korean. International sponsors will only give the big money to foreign teams and players. Stephano is a great player and he will get a huge contract. But I can name at least 10 koreans on his level and they don't get anywhere close to that. It is just how it works. So I don't think international sponsors are going to be throwing money get kespa players and teams just because they play in the GSL or MLG. So true, international teams are still trying to get to the point of Kespa-like sponsorship. It's always been ironic to me that hardware manufactures are the main sponsors to teenage kids or young adults 75% of whom probably can't afford the shit they're selling anyways. Much better to have companies like Samsung or phone companies.

It just doesn't portray the issue accurately at all. If you're willing to elaborate further on your thoughts behind that sentence, then I could be more elaborate in my criticism of it (or potentially agreement with it) as well! My "simplistic", off-topic point is to elaborate on why I used the word "we" in my on-topic point (which is further up the quote line). I believe I used "we" correctly, in that the ultimate goal of viewers is to have the best possible viewership experience by having the best players in a tournament. It's a simple argument, yes, but it's part of a bigger post and fits into its context. Now, do you dissagree with my use of "we" or my actual point?

That means more money for Gom, and for what, using another organisations players that they have built and supported for a decade. It's easy for Gom to appeal to the fans and cry victim like this, but we really don't know the arrangement or if Kespa is expected to just hand over their stars, which is their only real valuable asset, for nothing Domestically yes, internationally it's already doing pretty good. This is a domestic "turf war", can't tell who's the good guy and who is the bad guy. But IMO if Blizzard doesn't step in quick, it will be bad for SC in Korea as a whole.
