Blizzard has even said they are disconcerted by this move. That sounds not too good to me. They are competing against each other in WCS yeah, and you can absolutely tell that KeSPA players are still leagues behind GSL players in many departments. They show excellent play when they are doing something they're confident in, but they're awful at dealing with any 'tricky' builds and situations due to lack of experience - that would absolutely get abused in the GSL setting. It makes no sense at all for them to risk their OSL or PL chances for a chance to go through 1 or 2 rounds of Code A.

To put in in context for non-Korean speakers, it is a combination of something like "son of a XXXX" and "KeSPA." Also, the word for dog sounds like "Ke." KeSPA: 케스파 "Dogspa": 개스파 See the similarity?

They will soon also be playing each other in ProLeague though, where they will be facing off against some of the top players in the world from GSL, so to me it is obviously more than that, it is a business decision to pit PL again GSL.

I don't think they care though. If people don't vote with their wallets then they can do whatever they want.

I think that has something to do with why Blizzard is stepping in.

While I am pissed, I am willing to give them a shot and a chance to give them a bit more time with their players, but if they skip allowing people in for Season 5, then we may have some issues.

As long as the KeSPA player's performance is comparable (even if it is worse), they can still achieve the goal you stated, as long as GSL players can compete in the OSL.I can see where this is going to lead. With KeSPA players already performing better against the GSL guys, they're banking on the fact that one day the GSL players might be surpassed, in which case OGN is in a great position to become the dominant league as the GSL players won't stop themselves from competing for them however KeSPA teams will be under no obligation to join the GSL which puts GOM in a terrible position of possibly becoming a second-rate league. I think that has something to do with why Blizzard is stepping in.

Same for every qualifier. Uh, the point is that Flash should be able to play where he wants without KeSPa telling him where he has to play. Also, it is not a shitty league, whether you like it or not, they have done a lot for the scene and the fans.

Except that if they tried to qualify for Code A and I am sure some would due to how many of them there are, and succeeded, they could then maybe make the up and downs and perhaps be skilled enough to have a shot at slipping through by that time. Not playing this season means no code S for 2 seasons.
