Doing round of 8 to finals of GSL? Not cool.
Idea is, the players have numerous days to practice cool strats and ideas on maps vs their opponent, to not have that time is not cool. Please dont do this GOM

DRG has been hitting a rough patch lately but Symbol's slump is even worse...

They're gonna have to face ridiculously good opponents through and through to be crowned champion regardless of format, so why complain. I didn't know Starcraft players are only considered good when they win whilst given time to prepare Not less credit, but different kind of credit. The winner will be a GSL winner only in the sense that GOM stuck a GSL Code S sticker on an IPL dual tournament. In reality it would be more like winning an IPL or MLG due to the format. Sad considering now that most top Koreans attend international events, preparation was the one thing GOM had that made their tournament stand out.

I didn't know Starcraft players are only considered good when they win whilst given time to prepare The level of opponents will still be there, but the level of recuperation will not be. One of the things that makes GSL so great, and hard for the players is the preparation they get to put into it. Normally for the finals, those players focus on that match-up on those specific maps, studying their opponent and going in ready for them. Once it goes from 8 to the 2, they won't have any preparation, or at least very little for their opponent. Normally the GSL is like regular sports. One week to prepare specifically for your opponent. Having runs like this makes it more like a bunch of scrimmages against different opponents.

Well if you just want pure awesome, I suggest pro wrestling. They sacrifice legitimacy for pure entertainment. Still don't understand that people don't see how this sucks. But well, time to stop and embrace the "More of X is better" logic.

Preparation doesn't always mean good games though like GSL finals has shown over and over on multiple occasions. Sure it makes them interesting in the mindgames and tailored tactics but those tactics are usually different cheeses which end the games within 10 minutes. I'm not whining about those games though, I'm all for players doing whatever they can to win but I don't necessarily like watching the games. Still prefer it over fake games that they purposefully try to make entertaining though.

I would agree that this GSL will have a different "feeling" as compared to others but that will not diminish the achievement of the eventual champion. I will be there live, cheering for the swarm as always.
