I'm so excited; it's like a new game to me.

I feel Blizzard has added a touch of Broodwar and made the feel of the game more reflective of its "true" story - grim (in a good way), overall. How should I say it.. if any of you play Diablo 3 and compare it to the grimness of Diablo 2, you'll know what I mean : ]

I love it!
Of course.. these are all first impressions.

What about it ? If i have it on, i don't want a non-friend to message me, regardless of whether the non-friend has his option set on or off. What ends up happening if both have it on is that neither can talk to each other unless one of them disables the option, which if you think a little, is how it should be.

I never understand random aesthetic changes when everything is functioning relatively well - just seems like a big waste of time and effort.

It's also a little distracting the way that the terrain looks now on Low, but I'm sure after a week or two I won't even remember what it looked like before.

So it was stuck at 0% and I canceled the optimizer. Now when I open the patcher it won't go and just says its finished at 0%. Please tell me I don't have to re install the whole game.

I love the patch. alot of people probably didnt realize some of the subtle changes in the options menu so here goes:

- In the Graphics tab of the Option menu, there is an option to enable Anti-Aliasing

- CTRL+ALT+F still brings up your current FPS but it also brings up your GPU Temps

- Under the Gameplay Tab in the Options menu, there is an option for your Health Bars to be colored to represent your team colors.

Ill list anything else I find.

much better all around. So much easier to use and to find maps you want to play. Excellent

Dear god yes thank you. That 2 lvl cliff on shakuras was super screwey with showing warp-in space on the high-ground that didn't exist.

The changes aren't stupid, especially for the Arcade. SC2's old custom game system is, to be frank, complete crap, and they're trying to make improvements with the Arcade in 1.5. Sure it might not directly "help eSports," but a lot of people play custom games, and the old interface simply didn't allow for players to get into the quality games that they want to play since the front pages were filled with crap UMS games.

SC2 needs an improved custom game interface. BW and WC3 thrived through their UMS scenes, even spawning entire new genres like MOBAs and Tower Defense games. It will keep people playing the game longer, and every retained player, even a casual one, becomes a potential follower of the pro scene.

So no, these improvements aren't "stupid." They're steps towards fixing a failed interface. They could go farther and be more polished, but it's a decent step forward in many respects as long as they tweak a few things here and there.
