It's only possible if you have them in your friendlist. In Warcraft 3 you could just create a 1v1 game and people could join it to obs.

this is minor cause i couldnt give a fuck really, bliz know what they are doing BUT the shading on the 1v1 and ur race when i press f2 isnt as clear as id like it to be . . i could clerly see before the pic in the background AND zerg really lit up, and why is 1v1 on the other side of the screen?

Wasnt the whole point of this to promote custom games?

I agree but it's more than just priorities. Things just need to start getting done a lot faster. I'm getting tired of seeing the competition get killer features like in-client streaming, observer modes, clans, etc. These games are built around a weaker core than Starcraft, but overcome that by delivering the features the community wants quickly. Every time Blizzard is questioned about these features they reiterate that they are on the "wish list". The "wish list" idea has kept me going but eventually you get tired of the baby steps. Even with this beta they promoted us giving feedback but never gave any indicator on how they were using it to shape the design. I see very little (if any) difference between what was shown to us a year ago at blizzcon and what we are seeing now despite the feedback the community offered (especially around improved statistics and UI design). I think the idea of "waiting to get it perfect before implementation" is outdated. We need to start getting these features out there so they can be tweaked to perfection.

He's talking about games that are named for example "1v1 Obs Lost Temple" that you would join and there would be 2 guys playing, with a bunch of spot open for spectators instead of having the game start immediately after two person joined. Oh god is that still the case? Was the main reason why I never played any custom games in SC2.

maybe i've been playing this game drunk all the time but.. now when you patrol units in a group they all get the patrol command individually. am i crazy or has it always been like this?

EDIT: I'm not crazy, i just remember when I did marine splits this didn't happen as well so they did change this!

I don't see in the patch notes about what F1-F5 do in the menu from what I get from reading your posts F2 switches it to quick match view but what do the rest do?

It is relevant if you are the type of player who cares more about custom games than Starcraft 2 1v1, which I suspect is actually the majority of people who bought the game.

They can be customised to take you to various screens. The defaults are something like F1 = Campaign, F2 = Quick Match, F3 = vs AI, F4 = Co-op, F5 = Create Custom Game

Bottom left should be a button that lists them. I don't remember them off hand.

The buttons are uglier, thats about it.

New UI is a huge improvement over the old one.

You should sue Blizzard and ask them to buy you another mouse as this is clearly broken.
I actually think this is quite a major flaw. Designing an interface is all about making the user have fast access to what he/she wants. There's a reason all the apps on an iPhone is right there when you unlock it. Putting probably the most used feature so far away is a flaw... They could add like a favourite button on the startpage which you can customize to (for example) "Find 1v1 match" and the problem would be out of the way.

Isnt there a quick launch setup so you only have to press one button once you log in to already queue a ladder game. Design win

rage dump + Show Spoiler +My fucking MPQ files are gone, what a piss poor excuse for a design team... I could create a better layout using paint simply as a design concept then these shitheads at Blizzard. Not only is it less effective than its previous model, it removes my More GG More Skill from my goddamn score screen, which was the hugest motivator to keep playing (The quote by White-Ra). I feel like Blizzard listens to the community in one ear, and shits all the ideas out the other completely differently than we even suggested in the first place. You can argue it was to "stop hacks" but name a single hack that utilizes MPQ editor in mainstream? They just don't , this was tailored to fuck us over, and they'll probably start selling custom .dds images now
I am extremely frustrated right now, this is upsetting.
EDIT: NO STRONGER TEAM COLORS? WHAT THE FUCK

Do me a favor and hit F2 the next time you start the game.

i think anyone had the opportunity to provide feedback... for months. i like the new approach, i played the beta a bit, and everyone arguing now without submitting some kind of feedback to blizzard weeks ago (it was an open beta mind you) really should not cry now.
the earliest captain hindsight there is ~~
edit: apart from the mpq things, but whining about 2 or 3 clicks is really worthless.

Okay, I'm on a mac(don't troll i know) and when i went to run the patch it opened normally and had the basic layout for updating patches. The patch started to download and once the status reached 100% it prompted me to type in my password as an admin so i did. then it sent me to another screen which said "Updating Setup Files" Once there it went to about 1/3 complete in about 15 seconds then totally stopped. It had been about 10/15 minutes without it moving, wondering if this is abnormal or anyone else is having this issue.
P.S. i closed it out and reopened it all again and it went straight to 100% and straight to where the setup file update left off and still hasn't moved
Thanks!
