You will face Naniwa in ro8 I am not sure how things will pan out but in any case I feel like I will win in the end. I don't want to say anything more than that because I don't want any drama (knowing dramas between Naniwa and Nestea). He said it more compact so the translation doesn't convey the nuance.

I hope he gets crushed so he can realize just how arrogant and disgusting he really is. lol drg just making and honest assesment. Nani is bad vs zerg. DRG is really good. Isnt keeping it real what we like about nani? Naniwa has always been "keeping it real" - as you put, even back in the WC3 days. He always spoke his mind and showed emotions (mostly rage) without hesitation. However I do not remember him being disrespectful or overly arrogant. If he said something which might have been mistaken as disrespect, it was in the end just what he thought - without any intention to insult somebody. When he said he would win something, he did so because he was confident and because by rather objective judgement from his perspective would predict so. The way DRG was quoted in this interview do not only resemble confidence, but arrogance. That is how I feel. The unpleasant thing about this is that I perceived DRG to be a nice guy. Either the interview is a tad misleading or DRG has appearantly changed for the worse. May be too much succes gotten to his head? No idea. But saying finals is no problem (This upsets me more than the Naniwa part tbh), is plain cocky. The point is not that DRG behaves like this, but the fact that he seemed to be a nice, friendly guy - which totally contradicts the things said in this interview. Wait what? You don't think Naniwa acts arrogantly at all? He has shown disrespect to his opponents before as well like wtf lol. Also I am pretty sure it's confidence, it's DRG facing a foreign toss naniwa who's weakest match ups is PvZ. DRG is the best zerg player in the world right now with symbol being a close 2nd. He has every right to be confident, but to see what you just said O_O. Okay, then I will be a bit more precise. If you are arrogant, it imo also involves looking down at others and believing in your own superiority. I really believe that whenever one perceives Naniwa as acting arrogantly, it is rather a lack of mannerism and self-control, than real arrogance or disrespect. If he says something along these lines, it seems (at least to me) that he does so out of emotions or because he objectively thinks so. When he says "I will win" or "I should win the tournament" it is probably because he considers himself to be in a good shape and his opponents skillwise inferior. But I do not believe that involves arrogance or disrespect. When a once humble and nice DRG says something like "Finals should'nt be a problem" when playing in the hardest and most prestigeous SC2 tournament, it is imo no objective assessment of the situation. Sure DRG has a pretty good shot at winning the whole thing, but players have time to prepare and we have seen how PvT god Parting fell to MVP when had already claimed victory before the series had even started. "I have good chances to make it to the finals" VS "Finals are easy peasy, np." See the difference? Lol, ok what I got out of all that is Naniwa can disrespect anyone and act arrogant, but it's just being "honest" according to you. I guess by your logic, Naniwa has been an angel his entire time since he's such a nice and honest guy. I can't believe you actually said you don't remember a time naniwa's been disrespectful or arrogant, or when the 100s of examples are brought up you try to hide behind a non-intent excuse. What DRG said is benign compared to what naniwa has said his entire career. No point in debating someone with such a viewpoint. ![]()

But put them both in GSL settings with time to study Nestea gets the major advantage. On the other hand DRG is able to do very well in both styles of tournaments so I wouldnt even give him a 50/50 chance against DRG

It's not a "Godlike" unbeatable push. If you scout it and prepare accordingly you can completely demolish it. Only reason it seems "Godlike" and "Unbeatable" is because zergs get caught committing way too much to roaches and dont have the tech necessary to defend it as the push is really strong against the pure roach or large roach with lings mixed in style

What DRG said is benign compared to what naniwa has said his entire career. No point in debating someone with such a viewpoint. ![]() The last sentence was in your post was completely unnecessary. I do indeed understand the argumentation brought up against what I wrote. And to some extend, they are right. But my point is not that Naniwa is an angel or DRG an asshole. It is rather that Naniwa has always been consistent in his (bad mannered?) behaviour, but I do not feel that is related to him thinking that he is the best, cooles, most awesome person ever (read overconfidence, arrogance) and that everybody else (his opponents) are trash (AFAIR Naniwa did not want to say that Nestea is trash in that MLG interview, but rather say that he did a bad move. He just ill-worded it. Probe rush was rage rather meant to insult a player.). I believe Naniwa knows where he stands in terms of skill. So to sum it up: I never said Naniwa is an angel. I never said he is nice. He may be akward, blunt, even arrogant. But I have the impression that is arrogance is just a means to deal with certain unpleasant things rather than a sign of him believing he is the uber-baller. Actually, I neither worded his behaviour "honest" nor said that his behaviour was right. I never said that I like Naniwa as a person or that I find him sympathetic. The reason why I actually started taking the position was, that somebody wanted to excuse DRG's statements by saying "But Naniwa did this and that and there everybody finds it 'real' and 'authentic'". However, that should not be a justification for others being "arrogant". Somebody wondered why no one seems to care about Naniwa being "BM", but everybody getting mad at DRG. The reason I see: Given what kind of a cool guy DRG seemed to be, this interview was really irritating and upsetting to some people, including me. It felt like having been deceived. And being disappointed weighs often harder than having to deal with the constant and consistent difficult to like behaviour of "bad boys" like Naniwa. With regards to this, I am glad that somebody posted a more nuanced version of this statement. Apologies for jumping on DRG so quickly. So, I hope this clears things up a bit. Yet my points still stand (on a more general basis though). You may bother to read this, you may bother to get what I am trying to say here and see my point - as I do see yours (and those of others debating my statements), but what I do demand is not to brush somebody off by saying "can't debate with such people anyways." Thanks.
