I'm impressed that he can play both games at once at such a high level! You don't know PL's current format? Each player has to rotate between each game, so sHy played BW couple of matches ago, so he played SC2 this weekend.

I did know that ![]() My point is that it's impressive, considering this kind of requirement, that he won against full-time SC2 pros. I was trying to clarify to anyone who didn't know that this guy is still playing professional BW matches!

Another month or so? | ||

Wait until we have actual matches between them when money is on the line. Making any argument over this (especially when it isn't even clear who played, besides Shy of course) is beyond stupid. Ace has a pretty unique way of playing compared to Parting or Squirtle.. also neither of those two would have looked so hesitant in the PvP match.

yeah if GSL didn't send mvp / mkp / someone from code S...... they were underestimating the kespa players. fuck yes kespa > gsl anyday.

Yes, that's very true. It's just sad that many people trash on the BW pros or have ridiculous expectations. Losira is very good and was top KR GM, yet he is not even in Code A anymore. The skill of Code A is this high and many who have had Code S in the past and even GSL winners do not always stay in Code S. The takeaway should be for people who have not seen much of the kespa players in SC2 that they are actually quite strong players and many of them will likely make good runs at Code A and beyond.

I like it and shows that there is a bond between the bw pros and sc2 pros that will only help the scene. I do agree with you, except apparently it is taking away from Shy's win at the same time since nobody can decide whether his opponent was a scrub or maybe code S material. I don't mean that offensively, just basing it off of what I have read on these last few pages of comments. Congrats to Shy, this will be a nice boost of confidence and momentum for him going into future matches

Congrats to Shy, this will be a nice boost of confidence and momentum for him going into future matches We know for a fact that it was a Startale protoss that is Code A level or higher. That leaves us with Ace, Squirtle or Parting. All of which were Code S this season.

Obviously top players were scattered all around different other tournaments (hsc, ipl, ...) and obviously this is not necessarily a bad thing. As someone said before, it's a nice ego boost to kespa and i hope we'll see more non-anonymous ( = nonymous?) matches soon.

I know very little of the sc2 scene, but am slowly learning due to the kespa players transitioning and events like this EDIT: On July 10 2012 07:46 emsy1984 wrote: I think anyone who watched PL today will agree with me when I say that the gameplay of players in PL (mby except flash) and gameplay of Shy were on way different level. To me it looks like kespa sent one of the best (if not the best) players while Ace is (let's say) a mediocre code A player. wait... I was JUST told that all 3 possible candidates for Shy's opponent were code S this season, and the majority of the people posting are saying that it is most likely Ace (probably because he's the worst between the 3?) and that he is code A material... I can only guess at why this is the consensus of all the people who are in the dark. Yes, Shy is one of the better Kespa sc2 players. Woonjin was knocked out of PL post season early last time so they got some extra practice time in, and he wasn't really on their starting line up last season, but he isn't the top player on the team let alone the top Kespa player. It's comments like yours that are taking away from Shy's win. Give the man some props

I have tried to watch as many of the PL matches I can and I have seen some bad play but also some pretty decent play as well. I think it's more obvious that a lot of the KESPA players are progressing well and that there are a few good but inconsistent players already. Edit: since good players are consistent I guess I should say that there are a few players capable of playing well already but they are inconsistent.
