Otherwise there would have been no incentive for the gsl players to compete. If they win people go "oh look kespa players suck" and they gain nothing, if they lose then people think that the GSL player sucks, they lose again. I think it was just a way of lowering the stakes for the players involved so if someone lost it wouldn't be blown out of proportion. Although now that the Kespa players have shown that at least some of them can play on a decent level it might be different. Meant to edit not quote >.<

Though I don't doubt at all that Flash will do very well in SC2, i would not base my opinions on this showmatch. As I've already said, i think we can barely learn anything from this event, where a good BW pro (but not great, based on TLPD BW) beat 2 - 1 a E-sports federation protoss from Startale. It is assumed to be AcE, which is a very bad PvPer, but it could very well be Trickster, which has made nothing since getting knocked out of Code A in the first round back in GSL October. (I doubt it's him, but since there's no official statement, i wouldn't be 100% sure) So I wouldn't be so affirmative, and rather wait wisely for this "future" to happen, because I feel it seems very unpredictable at the moment. Don't worry, Flash is still Flash, and given enough practice, he should live up to his name. EDIT : Seen after posting, but also consider "this" On July 09 2012 23:56 vthree wrote: Well, a couple games do not show much. Remember MVP lost to Naama and monchi this weekend. can we claim mid tier EU is better than code S GSL? I think once OSL has the two sides meet, we will get a better idea as to where players stand.

That was a decision by the Korean organizers of this event, only the winner to be revealed. I'm guessing it was a mutual Kespa-GOM agreement, as both sides have some pride to lose while the Kespa players are still catching up with SC2.Thanks. The accounts had names like PlayerA, PlayerB, etc. They announced the winner's team after the first 2 games (so it's known the GSL player is a Startale player). They announced Shy's name after he won. So on one knows if the GSL Protoss is Ace. We dont even know if his mainrace is Protoss (though it can be assumed). Or what his achievements are (some people claim they said "on a GSTL team is enough" on stream others claim "at least Code A").

That's no claim: Khaldor clearly said that the Protoss player was "at least code A material". Now that doesn't mean he IS in code A at least, that mean his overall level is at least of a code A player. Anyone who watches GSL regularly will know that earning a spot through the code B qualifier is sometimes even more difficult than maintaining code A spot.
