idk if anyone is able to, but could you post the players and the match results (ie: Map and who won on that map). I just saw someone post that KeSPA won and im stoked and would love to see who played and won against whom. :D
I find this awesome that KeSPA is able to keep on par with Code S players, i have a feeling were going to see a much higher tier of competition soon :D

Not all of us are Butt-Hurt. Congratulations to the Winner. A deserved victory.
I will be so happy when we are past all this BW elitism and SC2 arrogance.
Some people might find it entertaining, but I don't. I respect both scenes.
I love BW for the history and SC2 for the -anything is possible- energy.

One SC community for all.

I feel the same.

But it might be too hard for BW elitism to be tolerant, and for SC2 arrogance to respect its elder.

It is a bit hard when there are posts like the elephant one where people said they'd win Code S in their first month(Such as those who though Forgg would win it easy after 3-6 months of practice). I want the Kespa players to get good as fast as possible but anyone who looks at it objectively would have to admit that at best there are 1-2 Kespa players who could be in code S and stay there(I feel I'm being generous with that too)

I'm tired of this misundersdtanding. At the time when the Elephant in the Room was written, it was perfectly reasonnable. Obiously, one year later it's a bit harder.

It wasn't even reasonable at the time, hence all the kerfuffle about it. He isn't misunderstanding anything.

Exactly my thoughts. Sadly the voice of the reasonable is not as loud as the voice of the blind fanboys

not true at all. broodwar will be dead in 2 weeks. loving broodwar just for its history is the sc2 arrogance you are talking about. imagine they ban your game in a few days from professional esports to nothing. sc2 may be a good game (maybe even the best game ever, i dont know) but it has nothing to deal with the fact that we broodwar fans feel sad and cheated that "our players" are forced to play it instead of our game. you may say this is an old discussion but it never become less true.

This - let me suffer in pain, you don't understand what it's like to be me - is .... True, I'm not an RTS player with a BW history, but I feel no shame in admitting that I enjoy reading the articles about the BW players, teams and surrounding organisations. I've also enjoyed watching series like "Nal_rA's Oldboy" and "Hyungjoon Becomes A Progamer". I've shown nothing but respect to the BW scene, I don't understand how this can be called arrogant... I think that is just plain stupid.

SC2 isn't just a "replacement" for BW, other games like WC3 also "died" and as a fan I mourned, but then I also rejoiced as I saw the scene grow, Koreans actively competing with the rest of the world, 10 of thousands of fans tuning into streams.
This is the biggest global RTS scene there has ever been and I'm proud to be part of it.
Curious that we spend more time congratulating people who have succeeded than encouraging people who have not. 파이팅! ᕦ(ò_óˇ)ᕤ"

No it isn't.
Someone new to the scene can love bw only for it's history, for he never experienced it. (not making myself better or quoted person new..)
I can understand how you feel, but let's not see things as black and white atm. There is a change going on, but don't act like a person on one/both side(s) is responsible for it or constantly rub in your own grief. Not everyone is emotionally bound to bw as you are. (no disrespect intended)

No i don't.
i dont know whats going on in this forum but i realized that there is a "new respect" in between those two scenes. but im not interested in talking about those scenes or anything similar. and im not interested in pointing out differences between the games or people who like it. i dont make anyone here responsible for what is happening in korean esports. not at all. i just say my game dies, you don't know how i feel and please please please stop stop stop advising me what i have to do or not and please please please stop stop stop laying your hand on my shoulder and say life goes on. yes i know that. but it has nothing to deal with what i tried to say. it is NOT a bw/sc2 discussion. it is a bw is dying statement and i feel sad and betrayed and angry and i dont want to hear anything of bw fanatics are stupid because blabla. then you are thinking black and white (while i only think black (or white, what ever broodwar is)).

No disrespect but if you don't want people to tell you anything about how you feel, what you think etc .... why are you posting? Do you want us to notice you're sad/angry/whatever it is you are? Why should we care?
You either stimulate some discussion or don't post. Posting just to say "hey, I feel that" is kind of ... pointless ...
Or if there's a place for people to share their sadness to see the BW scene dying than that is the place to post ... but why here?
You're basically asking people not to relate your post to SC2 when you are actually speaking on an SC2 dedicated forum ...

I wouldn't say Code S, but Code A could be possible. Still, this showmatch is one BW pros (and though I know quite little about BW aside from the big names, sHy isn't the best one...) against a quite good SC2 pro, but terrible in this match-up. There's not much to get out of this, just that the skill gap may not be as wide as we may think, but still exists...

And this was a showmatch. It wasn't like a tournament where you get to know your opponent at least one week prior to the match...

Also, Elephant in the room was assuming that they'd be practicing SC2 fulltime. All the brood war pros are trying to balance BW with SC2 for the new PL...

I prefer to think of it that SC2 and esports won ;p

on another note, I wish twitch would offer vods in more qualities... my crappy connection doesn't do well with their 480p vods. Can't wait until my new hardline comes, mobile wifi sucks

So it was Shy vs AcE, or it was just Shy vs STprotoss, and we are speculating that it's AcE? All the posts are confusing me.

That's such a useless thing to say. Criticism isn't always "nice" but it's needed. It was a stupid event lol.
