I'm so confused, how did people not know Ace's name? The accounts had names like PlayerA, PlayerB, etc. They announced the winner's team after the first 2 games (so it's known the GSL player is a Startale player). They announced Shy's name after he won. So on one knows if the GSL Protoss is Ace. We dont even know if his mainrace is Protoss (though it can be assumed). Or what his achievements are (some people claim they said "on a GSTL team is enough" on stream others claim "at least Code A"). That's no claim: Khaldor clearly said that the Protoss player was "at least code A material". Now that doesn't mean he IS in code A at least, that mean his overall level is at least of a code A player. Anyone who watches GSL regularly will know that earning a spot through the code B qualifier is sometimes even more difficult than maintaining code A spot.
Khlardor directly said something like this "Its code A player, code B means nothing it just for ppl who are not in code A or S"
So the protoss and the terran for GSL were either code A or S of current GSL.

Ace is not even near the top players right now
I'm not saying it does, read it more carefully please.
Why is it a disappointing result? We should be happy to see these guys catching up.

He said later "he is good enough to be in Code A or better". I dont recall him saying he's a Code A player. He did, however, say as you mentioned that Code B is not an official GSL term. Which still leaves the option of a GSTL player besides the obvious Code A/S one.

I'm a bit more curious who that Terran was. PvP is notoriously stupid, and AcE's worst matchup, so him dropping a Bo3 to what is essentially a Korean GM is not altogether surprising or indicative of anything.
There's no way the Terran was Taeja though, unless he was playing with one hand or something.

I said that there's no reason to be disappointed because if the results say anything, they suggest that we will see the skillcap rise within the next couple months as the sc1 players improve. That is not the same as saying we will see the skillcap rise definitely. Because arguably the results don't mean anything.

No. Khaldor stated early on that all the GSL players are Code A or Code S players and he even had someone confirm it to him. The Korean commentators mentioned that the GSL protoss was "good enough to be in Code A or better", which implies that the player is not only Code A level but someone capable of going through it. Ace of course fits that description quite well.

This whole thing is a joke. No names and most good GOM players are away at foreign tournaments.

But there are tons of players still in Korea. You don't have to be Code S to be considered good. Tonnes of players in Code B can beat a Code S player on a good day. Heck 90% of Code S was probably available. Who is overseas really? Hero, Mvp, MC, DRG, MMA. There are so many other players in Code S still there.

why even bother arguing? everyone has his point of view and refuses to accept arguments form the other point of view. If I come around and say, this proves kespa is certainly going to be a foe to reckon with and proves how fast they are improving people will just claim 'a few games means nothing blablabalbalabl'. And arguments from the other side can be made as well.
If kespa players are going to dominate, the future will tell us. If they are not, the future will tell us. In the meantime stop wasting your valuable time arguing over something when you can't convince anyone of your point of view. Enjoy the games and embrace the future.

That was some really nice probe rush from sHy by the way to punish that 14 CC .

Oh shit. This privacy idea was a stroke of genius. This will only amp up speculation on who's better between the Kespa guys and the GSL players. The hype and attention will only increase after this Kespa win.
The Ro16 OSL (when Kespa will finally vs GSL players offline) is going to be sick!

"GSL players are gonna OWN, RAPE, MURDER and EMBARRASS Kespa players..."
Oh, never mind...It's the other way around, apparently.

Oh, never mind...It's the other way around, apparently. The zerg player that got defeated by 'probably-Ace' lost quite hopelessly though.
