So DRG says he was in danger of losing first place, if Socke would have won against Sase?
If Socke would have won against Sase both him an DRG would have been 4-1, but DRG having the better mapscore. Does anyone know how MLG handles these situations? Must have been 1. Socke 2. DRG, because Socke won against DRG?! Thought Liquipedia ranked based on mapscore so im confused...

I've been wondering about that - now that the BW teams are going to be switching over fully to SC2, Airforce Ace may become a great haven for all of the best players. (Wonder if all the GSL guys still have a Kespa license handy.)

Congrats to DRG for some great games ... this guy is awesome!

Yeah he did say that. He quite literally said that he felt now it was impossible to lose unless he just does a big fuck up. What else do you call that?

This is genuinely just such a great interview. A great mix of personal and more business-y(i guess ) questions with really frank answers.
Thanks TL and congrats DRG !

Learning by practising, the best way. Saving for house is pretty good choice too.

(Wonder if all the GSL guys still have a Kespa license handy.) I don't see that happening. The Ace team won't be there for long I'm afraid. SC2 isn't as big as BW was, there is no national hero as Boxer anymore so they won't see the appeal of having SC2 team in military IMHO.

It's sad that we didn't get to see a DRG vs MKP as good as before because of the patch but oh well, Blizzard acted weird this time (didn't they apply the patch only one week after making it public?).
Nice interview, DRG is still the final boss zerg.

After reading this I had an interesting thought. Maybe the mandatory army service has a lot to do with Korean success in pro gaming. They know they have a limited window to get to the top and how many others are in the same position. Maybe that is a driving force, why they practice so much harder than their foreign counterparts. He has a dream to buy a house before the army, he knows he has to win a lot and consistently perform well with a limited time to do it.

Sorry MKP. DRG will not get out
|
Its fucking stupid that the interviewer called non korean players for foreigners when its not even a korean tournament.

DRG ftw. One of the few zergs I can cheer for in these dark times

So sad about MKP, especially sour about that game 2 vs Alicia. Sayle was right!! Pick protoss and make DTs, best way to win at everything lolol. I guess DRG deserves it though, he's such a monster.

He said that after queen buff, if he doesn't make a mistake he thinks he can beat any Terran.
Meaning that BEFORE the queen buff, he could lose even if he doesn't make a mistake.
That sounds like ZvT balancing out to me... any player should feel like they should always win if they don't make a mistake.

Good interview. Imagine what would have been, had Socke won his game versus SaSe and taken first in their group. Anyways, after MKP had difficulties, it was rather clear that DRG would take the title.
And his English did really improve again. Congrats to DRG!
