[?] Spades hacking? - Page 211

07:06 KST - method linked here has been disproved here 10:54 KST - Find a full timeline of pro comments (including Spades) in the topic here. 08:47 KST - Summary: Accusations of maphacking have the potential to destroy a player's career if left unaddressed. Because of the potential consequences, we should be careful about accepting unproven accusations. The principle of 'innocent until proven guilty' should be applied here. That does not mean that there has been a conclusion about this case, however, which is why this thread remains tentatively open. Please discuss with caution and use evidence to back up your claims. @Bogeyman: Thank you for taking the time to write these. Could you clarify your definition of Class 0 please? If it was in an earlier analysis I must have missed it. Just like Cornix suspected I just used that when I realized some of the points I found interesting enough to bring up either weren't suspicious or might even be in Spades' favor. On June 06 2012 08:28 Aunvilgod wrote: Sorry, but who are you? If you are a well known GM I apologize but I do not see how every little Silver/Gold/Plat would notice hacking. We guys should rather shut up and listen to what people who were playing competitive RTS for 10 years and even dealt with this specific hacker before have to say. This thread is like a class of 4th graders having an argument with their science teacher about a complicated scientific matter... If you don't approve of me speaking my mind in an elaborate and detailed way, that's fine. Also I don't see a problem with letting everyone know what league I play in. I'm not a pro-gamer at all, I don't even play sc2 as much as I would want to (I'm a perfectionist. I'll either play enough to improve a lot or play hardly at all). I do watch a lot of starcraft 2 though, and I consider myself a fairly intelligent and analytical person. I don't play enough to have my mechanics at even a decent level, but I would like to think I understand the game well. So whenever I've played my placement matches I've been placed in plat, but mostly I play with friends. Maybe you think I'm full of myself for this, but I don't see why the average masters player would be better at notice hacking than I am. Of course, you don't know me at all, so it's a good idea for you to doubt my ability. Anyone who truly wants to form an opinion, check the replays yourself. If you doubt your ability to judge, feel free to read my posts and consider the contents, but I won't ask anyone to consider my words truth. Oh hey, someone might care about this: I played chess when I was a younger, and I was pretty good. I used to train with a guy who was one of the best in the region I lived in back then, and once on vacation in Denmark I played a former nordic champion and beat him. He was solving a rubik's cube while we were playing though so maybe it doesn't count... Anyone give a fuck? Time to sleep.

That could be the cause of grabbing that army and then scanning. What do you think? Thanks again. When is the last time you moved your entire army from one defensive position to another before scanning? Spades had seen an army somewhere off to the right, and sees one unit on the minimap so he pulls all of them back without knowing what it was? Come on.

I can understand studyng Lucifron's style hard, I mean if you win it's good publicity and if you're playing legit and have studied him inside out including all of his TvT timings then kudos, if you're even just playing greedy / risky as ever living fuck and gambling on knowing where he is then kudos as well but still to not address them at all is the worst move imo

It's not a walkover, he's obviously still a competent player without the hack. That said, no point keeping him from playing since he obviously won't be able to hack at MLG.

I might be over thinking this (hence I'm asking you guys) but that's not entirely an accurate depiction of events. He sees a blip, defends at his third -enter speculation- panics and responds to the blip he saw but does not know what it was. Viable story or pushing it? You decide.

No matter what you may think of him as a player or the questionable play in his games, please treat him with courtesy and dignity IRL at Anaheim and leave your judgment of his questionable play here on the internet, and don't treat him with disrespect as a person, even if you believe him to be a cheater.

Last I was on here there were a number of hackers stating that the things CatZ and Co. were pointing out couldnt be done with screen lock/map hacks. I have my own feelings towards the issue but I will never feel comfortable with a guilty assessment until somebody links to the hack that made this all possible. Nice try wanna-be hacker.

He has not been proven guilty as TT1 stated. Vigilante justice is not allowed when the victim has done nothing wrong. Innocent until proven guilty.
