Hmm.. wonder what will happen to TheWind though. Nazgul seemed to think that he lost the most from the disbandment of oGs. Hope he gets a paid position in one of the KeSPA teams.
Nice pick up for Team8 this will help strengthen there SC2 skill for sure.

A part of me hoped that Liquid would pick him up as there coach for team league but that didn't happen. I do agree though. I hope he gets picked up by someone as a coach soon (if he even wants that)

Nazgul isn't a bad coach tho.
He also isn't in korea ... which is what I was talking about ...
Cezanne was a mediocre player and he did stupid things as captain like sending himself as ace...can't help but feel that hiring TheWinD would have been a far superior option for T8

This. Ever since OGS disbanded, I've wondered what's going to become of TheWind.

TheWind was on STX soul in BW right? Perhaps he'll become their SC2 coach.

I thought TheWind wants to rebuild the team under a new name?

I guess it has to do with that the TL players house is actualy there own house not that of TL, they might just want more freedom instead of a coach even as cool as TheWind. Who knows.
OT: Grats to Cezanne and T8 things are looking up the team is growing with players/coaches, now all it needs is a proper sponsor.

Well the agreement was that federation teams could not take players yet prime has aria and MVP has lure so I might guess that the plans for a new team fell apart if the federation is recruiting the former members.
Great pickup, good to know jaedong will have an experienced SC2 coach to help him switch over. Unfortunately it looks like oGs wont be reforming all these players and the coach signing new teams.

At his age, being a coach is probably a pretty good transition for Cezanne. He's only two years younger than NesTea and BoxeR, but does not have close to either of their notoriety.

Don't think it was his own decision to send himself him as ace. It was a team decision made because he had trained for DRG (or was it another player).
Honestly, every single Kespa team should be hiring SC2 coaches to train their team. There's got to be some older pros that trained in SC2 pro houses that are interested in transitioning into coaching.

Agreed. I think a lot of the older players from OGS would be a good choice.

When oGs disbanded most of the players were all younglings already. Gon had gone to the military. Which left TheStC as the next oldest after Cezanne and TheWind. Everyone else was like born in 1990 or later.
TheStC probably wouldn't take a coaching role since he's in Code S and I don't think KeSPA teams will be looking to sign any pure-SC2 players. Not until the end of BW leagues.
good move, but I guess this also means that the already slim chances of an ogs revival got that much smaller. ah well, they'll all find new teams eventually...
Foreigner teams need to start using coaches if they ever hope to catch up. And taking koreans with experience for coaches is a good move at first. So I wish some foreigner team gets TheWind as a coach.
Team 8 already have 2 Proleague wins under their belt, and it's only the beginning of Season 2. I'm glad that thye're finally starting to show the potential that they always had. The past few weeks were full of good T8 news. I'm happy for them!
On June 02 2012 20:01 pPingu wrote: I wonder if when the Kespa teams agreed to not recruit sc2 players they already knew they could/would recruit sc2 coaches
I think it was mentioned that kespa teams wouldn't go in and recruit "GOM" players in this first season. If they could do, it would all be a money race and hurt both scenes.
Tbh I have never liked him because he uses as a nickname the name of the artist I admire the most and it's like so fucking disresprectful in my eyes but at the same time I know that it has got nothing to do with him so I am trying hard to skip over that part about him. Gratz to him and T8.

But because of the language barrier, it won't work.
This is not the end! I am glad exoGs members are all starting to find nice new homes. Good luck to you Cezanne, I am sure you can take Team 8's game to the next level!

My thoughts exactly. You could speculate that TheWind was more expensive and therefore not chosen for the job. This is nonetheless a good pickup by T8, over the years Cezanne must have learned something. oGs was a powerhouse in the early days.

Which coach aint a medicore player at playing SC2 tho? I dont see any of them running around competing in the GSL(Perhaps choya but thats it). I wont really judge his coaching skills, but it is not like ogs produced bad players in any shape
Good for T8 tho, they get someone who can teach them how the game works, because at the moment most of the proleague teams seems to have no clue what strats work in sc2....
Shouldnt this news be in the BW section tho(The part with woongjin getting slayers coach is forexample)
This is pretty huge. Cezanne understands sc2 more than any of the bw pros atm, so having him as coach for T8 is HUGE for T8. Pretty excited to see their performances in the coming weeks. T8 FIGHTING!
the article writer should mention who those teams are, i had no idea as i never heard of them before. it took some time to figure it out that they were old bw teams, but the reader shouldn't have to do all the digging.

There has been a lot of news about Brood War recently and also proleague...it's your own fault if you lack the slightest awareness of any of it.

Yeah the interviewer should never assume users of a Starcraft forum might know soemthing about Starcraft.

Anyone else read that as Taters gonna tate ?
Also Gratz to Big C!
What's taters? Boil 'em, mash 'em, stick 'em in a stew.
Interesting to see the oGs players being dispersed among these teams, Korean, KeSPA, and foreign alike. I'm sad that the team itself hasn't reformed, but I hope players like Supernova and TheWind find teams. Too bad they can't really join the KeSPA teams since I think they supposedly have a year-long embargo against recruiting pure SC2 players, and the hybrid format is just not compatible with any pure SC2 player.
This on top of Woongjin hiring former SlayerS coach Ryu Won really shows that some KeSPA teams are really investing in this SC2 switch.

This is a pretty rude assumption. It's posted in the SC2 section where there is probably alot of sc2 players who are still unfamiliar with specific bw teams etc. It's conceivable that someone might have some confusion regarding the news.
As for Cezanne, I think this is awesome news, and shows that kespa is willing to work with entities outside of their organization, rather than put up a bunch of walls and seperate themselves from everyone else.

why is it rude to assume you can google team8 ?
It's not rude to assume that. The way the poster wrote his post imo was rude. You can inform someone of something in a much nicer tone than was given, so that he actually takes the time to look it up, rather than just piss him off and have him start arguing back with you while not really caring to research. If you've been on these boards for as long as I have you can tell there is a continuing trend to lash back after being even slightly insulted, which eventually leads to some form of all out bashing and a derailing of the original thread.
On a different note, I really hope TheWind gets picked up by a team as well. His ties with bw progaming should certainly help him try and land a kespa team. His foot has been in the door for many years, and it definitely seems plausible for a team to pick him up.
I would have prefered cezanne to be playing somewhere, but seeing the kespa teams getting stronger at sc2 is good sign, and it is really good to see team 8 getting stronger. I (like everyone else who follows them) wonder if the pick ups they have been making means that they have a sponsor in the works. Team 8 fighting (even though ace will always be dearer to my heart).
interesting to see cezanne get picked up, team 8 will certainly get a big boost. I wonder if the other teams will start following suit. I hope thewind will find a good place soon
I wondr where TheWind will go. He was a pretty damn good player for being a coach at the same time. He made it in code A and may I dare say code S a few times. He was never a full player in SC2 either. Moslty a coash from what I know. In my knowledge, he'd be the best pickup as of right now for any Kespa team to have.
