You scored two kills as the ace, tell us your thoughts It took longer than I expected for me to make an appearance in GSTL. I didn’t think I would be nervous but it was as bad as GSL. I am happy to have taken two wins for the team to advance to Round 2. I want to congratulate Cella for advancing to Round 2. How does it feel to be the one cleaning up for your team? (T/N: previously, the question was: "This is the first case of a player from an allied team acting as the ace and winning." TiG fixed it after they realised Huk had already won as the ace for oGs-TL last year) To be the one cleaning up with the team on the verge of defeat, I thought to myself “ah, this is how the teamleague is supposed to be”, it was truly electrifying. I am glad to be able to share the joy of victory with the teammates. Were you planned as the ace? No. I just thought I could win against Line who is a Zerg. Seeing the line up ZeNEX, there wasn’t a suitable Terran left. So, I believed that I could finish up. How does it feel to be in GSTL after such a long time? I think GSTL must be exciting for the fans and even for the players, there’s a different kind of fun to be had compared to an individual league. A team victory is something different to what you experience in an individual league. EG could have participated as its own team, don’t you regret this? The foreign players are not all in Korea and only a small number is coming over so participating as our own team would have been too difficult. Rather, teaming up with SlayerS works to our advantage. On top, when a foreign tournament is on at the same time, our players tend to leave Korea so it’s very difficult for us to be in GSTL as a team. Your PvT is rather terrible with a 9% win rate. Once upon a time, I was confident in my PvT but suffering loss after loss, I think I’ve developed some kind of traumatic disorder. My win rate in practice is okay so as long as I get over this, I should do fine. Your PvZ, on the other hand, is excellent I do want my PvZ to be better than that of any other Protoss (T/N: pfft, we’ll see what Hero has to say about that). Then, I won a bunch of PvZs and with that momentum, I am cruising along. Did you not wish to take on Life? I faced him once in February but he seems a lot better now compared to then. I did think taking him on would be fun. However, our team has many players who are good at vZ so another player would have sufficed. So, I wasn’t too disappointed about not being able to face him. You have some time off now, how will you spend it? I am currently studying for my high school certificate test. As a result, I have been practising a lot less but still did okay today. I want to thank Cella for sending me out despite my shortage of practice. I think I will have to use the time I have left to keep preparing for the exam. Anything to add? I keep hearing that my PvT is too weak out of the three matchups but I will soon overcome this. I hope you have faith in me and keep watching. We’re on a break until the end of the week and since I made it possible, I hope everyone enjoys it as much as they can.

Thank you so much for the translation, but please don't add translator's notes like this (T/N: pfft, we’ll see what Hero has to say about that). I don't really think it's great if the translator puts his own opinions into the translation ;;
edit: Don't get the wrong idea even if I sounded mean above, I'm still really grateful for translating interviews

Yeah because a translator is comprising his role as a journalist by doing such a thing
|
They're wrong about being the first allied player ace, HuK won for oGs-TL beating MarineKing last year
|
With this amount of effort I think you're free to insert whatever you feel like, but I will just add that Hero would probably say: "Yeah, JYP is the best" after losing to a Z yesterday.. ^^
|
Thanks for the translation.
But the interviewer is wrong regarding the first time a member of an allied team has come in as an ace and won. EGHuK (then LiquidHuK) came in for oGs-TL and beat MKP mid-last year in the 2011 GSTL S1.

But couldn't he do the exactly same thing in the comments and leaving the actual translation opinion free? Ofcourse this way his opinion wouldn't get the same amount of attention as it would otherwise.

um, so it's not ok to want to be the best in a match up? why is there this comment so out of place? If you want to clarify something because of translation issues it's ok to write that but this is not the case here. He didn't even say that he is the best pvZer right now

Mmm that's actually a good point. I prefer it this way instead of just outright lying in the translation about what someone said. edit:But you could also hype him up down in the comments.

glad to see JYP in a good mood! and the daily thanks to storywriter ^^

Hero probably wouldn't say much, considering he lost to a Zerg yesterday ^_^

If you want to clarify something because of translation issues it's ok to write that but this is not the case here. He didn't even say that he is the best pvZer right now no one said it's not okay for someone to want to be the best in a match up. If you had exercised your brain just a little bit harder, you would have been able to understand what I was saying: in my opinion and mine only, I believe Hero is the best PvZer by far and he would have good reason to say something like "lol, good luck with that, JYP".
To anyone else who wants to fight me over this issue, while I agree that inserting an opinion into a post is what a journalist, rather than a translator, is supposed to do, I'm not a professional translator. I am paid by no one and receive no recognition from anyone for what I do. In fact, I even gave up the translator icon because this lets me translate whatever the hell I want without worrying about copyright (not that I care that much about the icon). So let this serve as a disclaimer that I will continue to insert whatever opinion I want into my work and if you don't like it, you are free to learn Korean or find your own translator. Hell, my work is 98% translation and 2% opinion. Is it really that hard for you to just ignore what you don't agree with? How do you live your life with such a soft mind?
edit: and no, I will not quote my own translation to leave a comment in my own post to express an opinion I have. That feels weird.

JYP ace
MMA is really slacking
Thanks storywrtier

People: Storywriter's comments are awesome. Untie your panties, please, they are far more functional when unknotted.
Jesus H Christ
Also: JYP, I hate you for knocking Zenex down, but WP :D

people need to stop complaining and leave storywriter alone. I think he's doing a great job of translating and he's doing it all on his own free time. storywriter even takes translation requests, how awesome is that?
|
9% winrate...
fuck didn't realize it was THAT bad
|
Putting an opinion which is clearly noted doesn't change the core of the translation. Don't really think it's necessary to make a big deal about it.
Good job storywriter. You can keep littering your translations with T/N's for all I care. Just don't stop bringing them .

Come on there's nothing wrong with a little friendly jab in a T/N that he worked so hard to bring to us. If you hate smiling at these little nuggets of wit feel free to not read these/learn Korean yourself and translate the interviews/go to General forum for srs debates about RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Gratz JYP, being good at PvNotT is a good quality toi have in a team league. :D

JYP: PvZ so godlike it carries his abysmal PvT

why are so many responding so aggressive to my question? I just thought that the T/N looks out of place. for example if he would have said "I'm the best PvZ player right now" then i could have understand the T/N better.
and i thought that you were an official writer (tl, gom or someone else, judged by your name). As this is not the case there isn't even something to discuss here and you can write as many T/N as you like^^.

For the amount of translation work he's done, I'd buy storywriter a beer or two if he were living in Melbourne

Your original comment sounded a little aggressive to me but maybe that was because I was being sensitive after being criticised.
I can understand why some people who really like JYP or his PvZ may not like my comment as this is his time in the spotlight. But if I didn't consider JYP to be a great player and good enough to be a rival to my favourite player, Hero, I wouldn't even have bothered to make such a comment.

Thanks for the translation <3
JYP has a traumatic disorder about terran, I knew it xD And keep doing your translators notes if you want, it's your privilege and I think you worked hard enough to do whatever you want without being bugged =)

Holy shit 9% winrate, must have given JYP a awkward response.

Havin such bad pvt is baffling given that pvt is so protoss favored right now. Now is the time to be good at pvt.

good interview, GL to JYP in exams!

Lol @ people nitpicking about the T/N. Seriously, the guy literally spends hours and hours translating tons of stuff for us, and you criticize him for putting in a clearly labeled opinion that does nothing to affect the integrity of the translation?
Also, anyone know where they get the 9% winrate figure from?
|
What the heck is with people carrying about the translator note? They don't compromise the interview whatsoever...
EDIT: Pretty much what the guy above said^^.

9% winrate o_o; *tumbleweeds roll by followed by the crow of awkwardness*

9% , damn.... I know it was bad, but not THIS bad. Geez.

His PvT right now is much better than 9% suggests.

If you've seen his PvT it isn't bad at all, but somehow he always ends up falling short If you look at his run of Terrans it's been mostly bomber, MKP, Jjakji, sC who are all really strong in the TvP matchup.
