He was the first player I played this season. Same thing to me. I reported, and told people on my real ID to watch out for him but obviously he's still around. Quite sad.

The way I see it, Blizzard needs to step it up a ton in the detection and prevention department. There is no way in hell that Blizzard would ever permban anybody since it may cut to potential profits with the next 2 expansions. No business would do that, especially if the hacker is some random ladder-player. In brood war, iccup and especially regular battle.net hackers got permbanned because the user could just make another account, and the game was already set with the one and only expansion. So the only way of stopping this is from prevention.
My point of view anyway, as I seriously think the only reason Blizzard isnt taking harsh action is the "potential income" argument.

Agreed, I really hope they can manage to do something. Hell, I would be fine with a weekly patch that changed something in the code to make the hacks no longer work. If we can't stop them we might as well make them work their ass off to keep the hacks working.

And this guy is complete trash... he was at 0/0/0 almost the WHOLE entire game.. that lasted 22 mins or so... It's pretty ridiculous at the amount of hackers there are on ladder currently......

Sry to come back to a post this long ago but was just browsing the thread and stumbled upon this. First i dont want to defend anny maphackers whatsoever but sometimes the evidence presented seems realy weak.
In this particular vid the main evidence was the protoss player trying to build a nexus on a place where used to be creep. I dont find this situation suspicious at all (at least not this part). There was an ovie spitting creep at his protoss 2nd expo, protoss went there and killed or chased something. Now we go ahead 4 minutes later when the protoss is attacking, and he cues up a nexus at the location where earlier creep was spreaded, and this is the supposed tell for maphack but this is not weird at all? Protoss would know that if he chased an overlord and some units there 4 minutes ago the creep would have been gone by then and he can just cue up the nexus, even though his vision still has the creep. Are you sure this is a good tell for maphacking? and if so can you pls explain me why since i realy dont understand this situation and why this is a tell for maphack,
i did watch the vid 2 times where you tried to explain it but your explanation makes no sense. Protoss can cue up the nexus there, or try to. There is nothing weird with that at all. If there is still creep, the cue up will fail, if there is no creep, he can simply cue it. If he knows this or not is irrelevant, he had good reasons though to think that the creep would have been gone by then,
@ below: no that isnt true (as far as i know but will check it right away) You can check for yourself, Even if there is creep in your vision, you can still cue something up if the creep is not actually there annymore (though still there in your vision)
. I asumed you could just cue up the nexus and that it didnt depend on your vision Ok thx for clearing this up for me then, i never knew this (i dont maphack btw) Still find this a verry weird mechanic, you should be able to just cue up the nexus without having to return to gain vision, it is verry weird.

It's not because the protoss player wouldn't know, it's because in your vision, there is still creep there, regardless of whether you know it would've faded by then or not. If you kill the overlord spreading creep and then leave the area before the creep has fully receded, the game will not let you put a building there without vision, because in your vision there is still creep. If you maphack, there's no creep in your vision, because you can see that area of the map despite not actually having vision of it.

The thing is that you cannot put a Nexus down where there is creep on your map. In order for the creep to disappear from that spot, you need to go check it out again and see that there is no longer creep, THEN you can build your Nexus there. He forgot to check out if the creep was no longer there and he was able to put a Nexus down where there was creep on his current map. Hence, the only possible explanation is that his map was "updated" (without the creep) with a maphack.

Yeah we dealt with this many pages ago.
Ill break it down super simply:
-- Can't build stuff on creep
-- If you have vision of creep you try to put a building on it, the game says "cannot place there" its a red hologram and your probe won't even try to walk over and put the nexus or whatever it is down.
-- hacker sees no creep in his vision
-- regular person sees creep
-- hacker can queue the hologram so its clear blue and the probe will walk over because the probe just like hacker knows there is no creep there.
-- regular person sees creep, and the probe thinks its all goopy and doesnt want to step on it so its a red hologram and you need to move probe before queuing the building.
I think thats the simplest way to put it out there.
I wonder what happened to the guy who said he found a high GM euro hacker? Did he ever PM Zwei?

He never did PM as far as I can remember (didn't keep all the PM's), or atleast no conclusive proof came out of it or else I would have updated it in here. I have a few names to add to the main page, I've just been really busy lately. No worry, i'm still keeping an eye in here and watching replays being sent.
He trys to hit my overlord with his first marine without ever seeing it
Prepares for my roach/bling/ling attack without knowing anything. No scans or any scouting at all in the game. Yet he sieges his tank in the high ground and builds two bunkers with a line of depos infront
