You have to provide some kind of evidence/proof (screenshots/replays etc.) if you are going to accuse somebody.
Additionally, a supporting comment of what people should be looking for and when will be necessary if you are posting replays/evidence. |

Thank you very much for reporting Pikachoo. It helps us out a great deal, when players like yourself, take the time and let us know when hacks are being used.
I have started the investigation into the actions of that player and we weill be taking the appropriate actions against their account.
Thank you again, Michael.

Seems everyone that's about to quit sc2 cuz of these motherf'ers are trying the maphack themselves.. fun fun playing sc2 nowadays..

Hahaha so many hackers now, holy shit. And the crazy part is how many more that started to hack after this problem got public because people don't get banned for it. Public ladders almost always suck ass, I doubt Blizzard will even be able to get it 100% bulletproof when they are "fixing" this hacking problem. 3rd party anti-cheat programs for the win.

Btw I was suspicious of him myself so I did some research cause I generally don't get surprised by someone suddenly popping out of nowhere on NA and being top 16 gm with sick 70% win. And after all he is on NMx A team and we've already run into one hacker with the NMx tag, though apparently they aren't actually on NMx. Turns out he is Gambino, who was a top 16 gm for a while the season before also with a sick record, and before that he was VPInfused. Now I don't know why I remember the name VPInfused, but I think he's been high rated since the first seasons, or else I wouldn't remember the name. Just a little thought, he's not actually a no name out of left field as I had originally thought. I don't have any reason to suspect him. You can conduct your own investigation if you want.

Please Team Liquid mods can you remove these post??? We see about 5-6 of these threads mad every other week its pretty annoying.
Someone just needs to make a sticky so they can inform players who are map hacking with proof. otherwise these threads are nothing but qq or crying and whinning about how "blizzard fails"
These type of threads should not be on a website like Team Liquid. And posting it on the b.net offcial forms wont get you anywhere as well. Blizzard does not act on player qq in the form of public forums.
If you wish to summit proof of a player hacking, Please send repleys via ticket to blizzard, or email their account hacking team.....Blizzard can't instant ban players and they have thosands of reports daily to look at, most in which are false reports.
If you think you can do a better job at protecting battle.net(none of u can) then summit your master dergree in comp sci to blizzard and work on warden...otherwise these post are just nonsense.
Hacking has been A part of the online gamming world and even other E sport games before Blizzard even made there games considered a e sport.
Honestly nothing you can do about it on battle.net.
That's not to say there is no other purpose for having this thread, people at the very least can be made aware of other maphackers and save themselves a lot of frustration in-game by knowing ahead of time whether that person is likely to be a hacker if they have a history of doing those things from other players. Also if many people report them the chances of them being banned goes up, whereas with just one report it may be overlooked. I'm sure there could be other reasons; maybe people can try to shame them in game or something .
I agree with radscorpion. Its seems very desperate of the people whom complain maphackers when they can simply report said hacker and they get banned.
What is the purpose of being "aware" of maphackers do silent? Your consciousness of them won't change anything. If you suspect them of hacking, great. Press report. Yes, Ive seen the replays, and yes I think some people are hacking. However, 80% of what I seen looks all legit. They're in GM and masters so they have really good intuition.
As far as your last paragraph, silent, people cannot report them if they haven't played them (aside emailing them with a complaint, and do you really want to be that guy?). You should only be reporting people for hacking if you think they are hacking. Other-wise you are abusing the report button and now it will be less likely that hackers get banned since it's being diluted with so many false reports.
Do you really want to be that guy who accuses someone of hacking to make themselves feel better after their own loss? You should just practice more.
Blizzard bans all hackers within a few days. They're ToS and sticky threads on main page of their forums are all very stern about it.
|
Firstly if these people aren't getting banned within a few days it seems the only people getting banned are the ones that get alot of attention via threads like this. Secondly the purpose of being "aware" is to make sure these pathetic people don't get to play any tournaments and win money as well as the better cheaters are good at hiding it so maybe the one or 2 suspicious actions they did in your game isn't very good proof, but then people become aware a certain player is suspicious and they put the replays together and all of a sudden alot of suspicious actions pile up into suitable evidence.

Just popped a new hacker, using some sort of drop hack.
He was absolutely getting creamed and suddenly i dropped, conincedentally when my BCs were over his tanks, raping them all.

No I think the problem isnt they didnt think they wouldnt get banned, because they know they could indeed get banned. I think the problem is that this became so public and known that people either thought... A) People are hacking so I need to do it to get even or B) This game would be easier with hacks so I should use them.
I mean we just pretty much publicly declared hacks are out there to the lesser known and even some sites provided links to said hacks.

More like you completely missed the point of my post. I know the purpose of the thread. That doesn't change the fact that threads like these have only increased the hack paranoia in the community and its pretty obvious. I agree. I support the thread, but it's funny how anyone who has good game sense or takes risks will likely get called a hacker now, especially if they don't scout etc. I wish blizzard would be more active in dealing with this problem so that the paranoia doesn't get worse.
It reminds me of getting banned constantly from pubs in CS because I was good at the game and everyone always suspected hacks. At least tournaments like TSL are monitored closely, but I don't see something like iccup coming any time soon.

plz do some research before u say some weird stuff. there acutally is a strategy on shakuras where u send out 2 probes at 8 and 9 supply, scout their mienrals (not their probes acutally mining) to not be seen and to be able to proxy in the opponents base, at the cost of a lot of mining time. while i cant say if ur opponent did that strat or simply hacks, watch the replay first. i faced this about 3 times in the last 3 seasons and all 3 times there were 2 probes on the map acutally scouting me.

I'm investigating this (reviewing some replays atm) he'll be dealt with accordingly based on conclusive evidence. NMx (A team) does not welcome cheaters on the roster, I just hope people realize cheating accusations are pretty serious and won't badmouth anyone else on the team based on the actions of 1 player.
Btw @ earlier post in this page, the NMxjvaljean guy is not on the team, so I don't see how there are "several NMx hackers"

There is nothing "paranoia" related if you check the replay and see ur opponent plays/scouts through fog of war. It's a fact that people maphack more nowadays (or they actually get caught more because more ppl are checking the replays).
