A lot of these maps are absolutely gorgeous! But I think it's a great idea to indicate the watch tower radii like Apom's Fields of Strife. Also I think a lot of the split maps or close air long ground distance maps should consider more strategic/defensive watch tower positions. Overall great job by all the map makers.

The map images are those provided by the participants themselves in the MOTM thread. If you click on the links to the submission posts, most mappers have links to their map threads with additional information.
Fields of Strife is a 2v2 maps, while it is a outstanding maps who deserve to be studied and improved, it can't be compared to the actual 1v1 standards. As such, you should remove it from your poll.
I included all submissions from the MOTM thread, Field's popularity, judged as a 1v1 map, should be reflected in it's rank in the poll. (I believe that close spawns on that particular map have been disabled for MOTM, idk)

You base your assumption that MotM is a 1v1 judging panel, it isn't. I believe it should be judged a a 2v2 map not as a 1v1 map.

It doesn't matter how they're judging it, but I do believe the judging panel is judging every map for exactly what it is, and whether or not it makes it into the top 5(actual result) depends on how well made it is, not on what it does better than other, similar maps. Even a solitary 2v2 map should have a chance, so long as its quality makes it deserving of a top finish.
Of course, I could be wrong, since I'm not on the panel of judges, but if I am, then they need to start doing this so that I'm right. Obviously.
This on the other hand is a popularity poll, to see what all of you fine folks like the most out of all of the maps. If that happens to be a 2v2 map, I see nothing wrong with that. I say leave it be.
wow... some of those maps are so damn beautiful, I really feel bad for some of the creators (who don't win), but at least a lot get to witness their work. Good luck to all of you.
The most common flaw I see is the bases are either too close or too far/iffy base progression. Otherwise, most of these maps are fantastic, but they also have to be more on the safe side when it comes to terrain you can abuse.

thanks I know its a nuisance to do lol
Btw the judges have begun the judging process. We plan on releasing the top 5 before June, but it'll be close.
I'm fairly sure (like 99% sure) that the general position of MOTM judges is that they judge all submissions as 1v1 maps. I can't change the poll at this point anyway.
I'm surprised your Abode map isn't getting more votes, Namrufus, it looks really sweet from where I'm sitting. Like Daybreak, only more technical, and(imo) more pleasing to look at.

It might seem like it to untrained eye, but there are actually many differences, you should give it another look. They might look similar but you should check desert oasis again, my map is much more balanced, I have worked on it quite a bit to make the "close by air, far by ground" format to be good (maybe it is still not that great, but I think it is good). you should see the map thread to get a better look on it.
I like Reactor and Dark Shrines the most simply for their visual appeal Don't really want to make judgements on the quality of each map until I've tried them out and whatnot
The poll will end at the exact time 1pm may 27th KST The finalist poll will begin shortly after. The unofficial popular choice winners from the finalist poll will end on 1pm may 29th KST
It's gonna take me like a day or two to really give an accurate vote, lol. Nice selection, grats to the finalists that made it this far. GL! i'll give my vote when I can figure out a favorite :D
Uh, I smell trolls. Not to be rude or anything, but Agria Rock... made it to the final vote. Not hinting at any grandmaster plan of Ragoo's or anything, just sayin'.

Psst dude, that's a secret!
Doomsday will receive an update very, very soon to make the fourth easier and add another base, unfortunate that I rushed the map for MotM and it's in this poll now like this
Well same for me ragoo, my map is also rushed, I need to update Alamar Depths by making it better in openness variation and how the third is to keep, etc. why does MoTM makes me rush my map all the time?
The number one indeed is number one, very suprised not more people have voted for dark shines, that map looks really good and instead natures hold which has nothing on it.
STOP PUTING SO MANY FING CHOKES ON MAPS ALL MAP MAKERS EVER!!!!!!
