Yes, understand what you are saying, but I still can't ignore the feeling that there is something wrong with the graph. It shows a clear downwards trend for the first half of the season, and then it seems to correct itself. No other method shows this behaviour: 1: a graph of opponent DMMR, 2: a graph of wins-losses, 3: a graph of my opponents average league.
But these are weak arguments, I know. It may also be that my eyes are fooling me. If we remove the faulty point and then move some other points within the error margin (due to F uncertainty) it maybe could look a lot more plausible.
But if you find a bug in the code and it turns out I was right, I will tease you about it. :-)

Thats the case because this combination have less error than the real one. This can happen for part of the graph. The wrong data is "better" than the real data when many little problems come together ( deviation, many caped games in a row ..) with new data this will not happen so easy because i fixed a bug that skiped bad games where the webgrabber failed.
MAC UPDATE:
Looks like its an extracting problem. Mac update:
You must make sure the all files are directly in the folder and you dont create an top level folder by extracting. eg. Sc2gears\Plugins\MMRPlugin\MMR.jar NOT Sc2gears\Plugins\MMRPlugin\MMRPlugin\MMR.jar
4.7 out -better mac support -timeline for bad games fixed -dataeditor changed
|
Still not showing up on my Mac. Do I need to rename the file MMR.jar? It is directly in the folder just like it is in Windows 7.
|
I got it to work now. I just have to rename all the files in the folder. You're right. It is an extraction problem!

I had to rename all the files and create a lib folder and put the proper files in it. I just copied it from how it was extracted on Windows 7.
I still don't know if its working properly. The log doesn't show anything except: 21:31:17 MMR-Stats 4.7 21:31:17 --------INIT START-------- 21:31:17 OK Encoding: UTF-8 is avalable on this System 21:31:17 OK Loading DB 21:31:18 OK DB up to date! 21:31:18 OK Settings loaded! 21:31:18 ERROR No Data Found! And nothing after each ladder game.

Can you explain moving avg and what that means exactly?

With nothing you mean, you dont see the posttrigger working blinking in the gui and you dont have any errors in "help" "system information" ? In this case something is wrong with your sc2gears replay-save-settings.
EDIT: found one place that could make trouble if you change the settings. Also used diffrent pack program. Can you download again and try if he extract correct?

i use m-avg 5:
n = nr of game V = mmr value of Vn = sum(Vn-2,Vn-1,Vn,Vn+1,Vn+2) / 5 not existing games are obvious skiped http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moving_average

On June 28 2012 22:09 skeldark wrote: 4.7 out -better mac support -timeline for bad games fixed -dataeditor changed There seems to be bug in 4.7 regarding division names. Previously all division names were shown in lowercase in 'log' dialogs 'analyse' tab. Now after 4.7 all new data uses mixed case regarding division names (both alg A & F+ data). Alg A thinks I have switched division from 'all lowercase' to 'All Lowercase'. Also as this is diamond division it then proceeds to calculate tiers for both separately.
Edit: I had played 3 games after 4.7. Now as I closed and then restarted sc2gears also data for 2 of those games disappeared from the MMR plugin. Now only lowercase division names remain and alg A sees only one division.
Edit 2: I checked the data files. log.txt contained the games that disappeared after sc2gears restart. Also games.dat had been updated just after those two missing games. Also worth to mention the only game that did not go missing from yesterday's session was game # 200 for that account, which could imply some kind of border value problem too.
Edit 3: Now I have played two games more. Again I am seeing mixed case division names and alg A thinks I have switched to new division (from lowered cased to mixed case). I closed the sc2gears and restarted it. The 2 new games disappeared from mmr plugin again. The games.dat once again had been updated just after the games. Now I will take backup copies from the data files and switch back to v.4.6. (fingers crossed that the data files are compatible). I can send the data files if needed as PM.
Edit 4: Same thing is happening with v. 4.6.

Just a question, how precise is the promotion line? Because i am about 100 + MMR over the diamond promotion line, i am placed against diamonds every match for the last 20 matches and still no promotion (still in plat).
English is not my native language so if my formulation sounds harsh, it's not meant that way, i'm only looking for information.

The line doesn't represent when you will be promoted, as promotion requires more than crossing that line, it just represent the borderline between leagues. I am in the same situation by the way, and I am not even top 8 in my division, but there is no one in the division with more than 40 points than me and people are getting promoted all the time in my division.

What i know of promotion is i need to cross the line between plat and diamond (MMR wise) and then stabilize into a division offset. Is there anything else to it?

Or cross the Master boundary, whichever comes first. That's correct.

Hey Skeldark, can you mark promotions on the graph?
|
I think the plugin doesn't save the games anymore. I played this morning and closed sc2gears, now I opened it again and it seemed like some games where missing, played a game, restarted and it wasn't showing anymore.

Looks like the fix for mac crushed the win version. But dont worry the information is still there. its just not loaded correctly. i fix it and make him fix the games.dat update soon(tm) whenever its done. (today)
@korona i dont get it i save division names only in lower case. lets see what next update makes out of it
UPDATE: Before i ladder alot a faster way. Can someone send me a broken games.dat?

I played every game with sc2gears and the new data showed in the graph but after restart the new data was gone.

I can't seem to be able to setup my Bnet profile page. I've used the URL that looks similar as the example. However, when I click 'Save&Exit' the config screen will disappear and then return a second later with a blank profile...
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
- I've used the url from my Bnet page by clicking on my name, then profile. - I didn't get the error that it is an invalid Bnet profile link (like you get when you remove the http:// for example) - I still get "Not enough Data! Need more Games..." error. - During games i see the plugin giving the message 'pre-trigger running...''
