This have nothing to do with the website or data at all.
The trigger detected one start and than hang in there.
The only thing i can think of is, that you started the new game before the pretrigger realise that the game is over.
So for him its an endless game. And as long as the pretrigger blocks the posttrigger is not allowed to run.
On the other hand where is the webgrabbing of the one pretrigger run than....

What you posted is all thats in the log file?


Yep, that's everything in the log, also there was perhaps an hours wait between 1st and second game, as I went and did some work (just alt tabbed out).

To be honest, i dont know how this is possible. there is nothing between the "game detected" and the next output that could stop the the function. I will look into it, i must miss something.

About the blizz ts and cs . If you read it you will realise you break it in the second you install sc2.
They say you are not allowed to collect data over the client. This can be reading his memory, this can be reading the name of files...
Its so unclear that they can say about everything you do you violetet their terms.

Have played 31 games by now, it correctly shows the number (and I guess it still adjusts my MMR) but the graph shows 40 games and stopped there (around the 25th real game I think)

I played a few games while the MMR Tool was active, it shows that I have played games but it doesnt show graphs.
How can I fix this?

EDIT: It doesnt show the graphs in the A&D+ tab.

The tool analyse your division offset. Depending on the algorithem he can not use every game. Also he show breaks for not valid games.
Lets say you play 3 games in a row and than 1 game thats bad and 3 in a row again.
So you have 6 games stored. The alg. detect that game nr 4 was not directly after 3. So he adds an "UNKOWN" game between.
1,2,3, 4 ,5 ,6,7
Than he filter all games that give no information depending on the algo. Lets say thats 1 ,2 5
we have now game 3, . 6 ,7 left
so he will add to to graph 3,break, 6 - 7


Because b and d filter different games, you see diffrent games.
B need the data of the player and the opponent, d need the data to be an a spec range.
However if you disable the analyser he does not filter and show the dmmr of all games. ( that dont show anything for you)
so the solution is. Have a lot of games so many survive the filter. Thats not a program or algo problem. The filtered games just dont hold any information, because i only filter what blizzard manipulated in a bad way so it gives wrong values.
They have special rules to e.g. cap people so they cant drop under a min dmmr number. ( happens often if you play against someone in a league above you)

The reason for this special rules is only to hide the mmr better from you. The real skill algorithm behind all this would never use such pseudo rules.

new patch nothing big, i changed the webgrabber because some people had problems with it.
with the new updatesystem you can update in the tool now.


Blizzard webserver is slow again, i suggest everyone to enable "longer wait" in the config
i think i will wait 1 min by default in future.

I was pretty unlucky in my 5 placement matches on my Europe account and got bronze. My internet was crazy and I had to leave in order to not lagfest the game forever, I'd probably drop anyway =(

I'd guess it's a tier 0 bronze, because it makes no sense to lose the 5 placements and be anywhere higher the the lowest possible tier.

Starting tomorrow I will take the opportunity that I was that unlucky and the seasons are locked, so I will try to play till my normal MMR, that is somewhere among the plat players generally. Though I am with a new faster mouse, I might not be able to get used to this new mouse fast enough to survive low plat? Idk.

Anyway. I was going to play till I'd hit my second silver player, however, with only 4 wins I already got my first silver and with 5 wins I got my first gold already o.O Anyway, I have 6 wins now and I won't lose on purpose, but I think it will be interesting to look into this data, as 100% of my opponents whould be their dmmr somewhere way higher than 400. Additionally, I am winning 23 (+23) points for winning, so it might take some games for the data to be relevant, but I will try to play the most I can so you can try to find some patterns maybe? Again, I can't be sure about my division tier, but it will make sense that I am in a tier 0, so keep that in mind.

I think you'll be able to find it in the database? If you don't find me, PM me with whatever you need to find it. I will try to start tomorrow as soon as it's guaranteed the leagues are locked.

I was also unlucky in my beta (1.5) placements, but this time it was the diamonds and masters doing the placement with me. Got silver. 3 wins later, plat mmr o.O

MMR moves so fast now, way faster than before o.o

I wouldn't be so sure I was tier 0 if I were you. Like you said yourself it depends on who the system matches you against in your placement match. Then it guesses your tier/league to be the closest estimate based on your 5 opponents / your 5 games results. If you lose 5 times to Master (extreme example) then maybe Gold is a better guess for you than Bronze.

About MMR change:
I believe MMR changes faster in your initial X games on bnet ladder (or some other criteria for new players). We know that the average MMR change per game is 16 for most players. It's almost certainly bigger for new players, how much bigger I can only guess. 25? 30? 32? Anyway it's no surprise your MMR climbs rapidly at the moment.

Did you ever win +24 points for a match? Recently, not some seasons ago?

+23 games are kinda hard to work with because your opponent's DMMR range is so big. C'est la vie.
Edit: Nevermind your opponents should be closer to +-12 so we should still be able to see how fast your MMR changes.

Is it possible that MMR has a second confidence level associated with it that also effects your rate of change? I know it's not what you'd like to hear considering it would make this more complicated, but in some ways it would make sense.

For example after placement matches MMR can shift dramatically in either direction quite quickly. This could be something like <MMR Value> + (<MMR Gain> * (1+ (1/<Confidence level>))), with confidence level growing larger as it has more samples. This would explain why it shifts so quickly without any previous games, and often isn't seen from player continuing on from season to season as their MMR carries over of course.

It may also tie into confidence levels associated with promotions as they pass MMR offsets for each league.

I haven't looked at the data though, so I'm just throwing it out there and seeing if you noticed anything usual with the initial games of new accounts.

I assume this from the beginning. We did not really search for it but if it play a big role we would notice. I think the confidence level or sigma shrink very fast. After 20 games it should be near 1
This is easy to avoid by not counting players with less than 15 win. However the question is if its a starting value or if it can increase later. E.g. you drop your account from master to bronce and up again. I have the feeling and its only a feeling that sigma can increase on a long win or loose strike to take acount for the jumpers ( i call people who rush leagues up and down jumpers)

Oh it's more than possible, it's certain. You can even read about it in Excalibur's sticky thread, the "uncertainty value". You can read up on the RD value in Glicko system for a good example of what the uncertainty may behave like.

It's something we always keep in mind when trying to determine how MMR behaves. It's also what made me stop looking for the MMR formula. With a second hidden variable for each player, it's just too much.

I believe the uncertainty starts out high, ends low, either through settling down into a narrow value when a player's MMR reaches his true skill level, or artificially through a hard limit of X amount of games. Then it is my hope that it stays relatively constant and at the minimum level, which allows for average MMR change of 16 per game. This is somewhat of an optimistic (but possible) assumption by me. The further it is from reality, the more chaotic MMR is going to appear to us over multiple games.

thats normal d+ can not use every game.
But the diffrence is importand. This rule filter something very special and is new. It should only hit in few cases.
Can you give me the profile link of the account and track the gamedata in your logfile?

Ahhhhhh, sure. I do still have that log from the game where I got the A & B difference too large in that file it turns out (I thought since I hit clear data in the UI, it would be gone, but it looks like it's still there!)

btw these players are really bad I was going to worker rush to lose, but I would've won if I just did a-move worker rush so I had to force attack his nexus/hatchery lol.

ok. The data was bad. He throw it good. However today i see alot of late bnet updates. The server update slower and slower....
I will put in longer trigger waittimes on default and update the version!
EDIT: i wait 20 sec on the pre and 1min on post
if you worker rush and the old trigger is still running the tool gets into trouble
game over = post running , game start , pre want to trigger but cant .... game done, pre still not trigger new post trigger

Few things in Astraflame's history of note:

- The random +46 point game in the match history was against a Placement player who was playing his very first match ever. This means that his MMR is at the initial value (possibly mid-Gold) and could be a clue as to the initial uncertainty range. I wanted to provide context for this game because otherwise it's a bad data point. It's actually far more relevant than we realize.

- The game completed at around Wednesday, Jun 06 7:01am GMT (GMT+00:00) was against an AFK player, and matches are only posted to match history when both players have exited the game. This could introduce problems if a player doesn't immediately leave the game. For example, the 7+7 game actually finished before the 6+6 game, possibly throwing off the data.

- The point gains have been extremely steady, which is somewhat unexpected. The match history actually looks like this:

This is a little strange because even though MMR is climbing for each victory, points are apparently climbing faster. It would seem Astraflame has still not broken into the expanded matchmaking range yet either.
