GG no re blizzard. Its easy to call Blizzard stupid, but I think you need to observe the circumstances around each of those companies before making any real conclusion for their motivation. I know, but that's what I would say 6 months after the game was released. It's been 2 YEARS and they still keep fkin shit up weekly. I really think they just don't care about fixing it anymore. There's only minor problems, but there's a lot of them and they aren't hard to fix. Yet in 2 years time nothing has been done, there is no logical reason for that other then that they aren't even working on it.
Again, its not about the technical side of things, its about legal and business side of things. Im not talking about piracy either, that is just an easy scapegoat to keep non-gaming/non-techy investors happy.

Lol so sad to read but can't say this shit surprises me. They've done this tons of times before and they will do it again.

I really wonder how many per IP is one too many. When i was a kid we had lan parties at my friend's house and it was often ~15 people. Ridiculous if you need to contact blizzard because you are having a lan with your friends.

There's not much legal issues involved for the stuff Bliizard has to fix, like shared replays, LAN and so on. On the business side it will cost the money to invest in the development of those things yeh, but that would be an awful reason to not do it. Let's just release half a game that every1 will buy in the first week and not actually give a fack about what they think of the game afterwards. Off course that's not 100% accurate but u do get that feeling sometimes. If it's about making profit they really need to take a look at other gaming companies that are beating them at the moment. WoW and Starcraft are both decreasing fast in playerbase, why? Cause on both those games it takes Blizzard months/years to fix relatively easy things and the people that have to play them are done with it. Sure there's some problems involved, but if they really want to fix the issues with their games, it wouldn't take 2 years

Trying to hard to be on second place on most hated gaming companies, right after Electronic Arts.

They want to control the tourney scene with an iron fist this time around. That's why there's no LAN. Forget piracy, it's all about Blizzard being able to track tournaments and make sure they get their cut.

Blizzard is getting annoying these days. We will see what will cost them in the long run.

last week i was at a LAN Party...acutally more than 20 people connecting to b.net at the same time...no problems. I dont think that every LAN Event gets blacklisted...there must be an additional issue.

Well if people stopped stealing video games thru fake copies maybe LAN would still exist in many new ones that have come out recently, you noticed somthing with almost all of them? No LAN on so many of them... this is becoming the trend.

I mean battle.net sucks, its a regress from the old 1998 battle.net, the gameplay is worse than Brood War, the campaign was worse compared to Brood War and the support hasn't been there at all.
Blizzard should put in LAN else people shouldn't buy their games anymore and that's the story.
They've used and abused the fan base enough already and have become from one of the best and friendlier companies around to one of the worst and evil companies out there. Blizzard right now are the EA of 10 years ago. It shocks me why people would buy HOTS with so many issues revolving around WOL, including their shitty chat system, interface, etc. I for sure will not be buying it until they fix these problems. I'm not buying it either and not buying D3 either. In fact I may even download it from the internet just because they've been so arrogant and so corrupt.
I am not buying Blizzard products anymore as well. No Diablo 3, no HotS. After joining Moneyvision they follow exact patch Bioware followed under EA. Imo only games worth supporting are from indie developers.

I was also just at a small LAN tonight. Blizzard shut off connections so no one could log in. We had about 6 accounts already logged in before the shut out, so everyone had to play their games on those computers already logged in. This meant settings were constantly being changed, etc. Complete pain in the ass.
I'm in SoCal btw.

Quit fucking around blizzard, there is no reason not to implement LAN. Quit being so stubborn, your new Battle.net 0.2 isnt "perfect". Far from it.

Are you Serious blizzard ??? Put that *%$^@# LAN mode !

Yeah, keep telling yourself that. -_-
Internet was always going to become the exclusive multiplayer platform no matter what. It makes it much easier for companies to promote and sell various DLC and add-ons, it makes migrating to subscription payment models a lot easier, and in general it makes it a lot easier to keep the players tied and keep them spending money.
Back when every game had LAN, internet wasn't a viable enough platform to be used this way, now it is. That is the only difference and has nothing to do with piracy whatsoever.
|
i for one don't care as much about LAN, but I care about the chat system, which is an integral part of my fun in games, and it sucks ass. I already had the opinion in beta, ánd it still sucks 2 years later. I for one won't be buying HotS.

Time to switch over to IPv6 and you'll be able to give every grain of sand on earth (+ every star in the universe) an unique ip address and still have leftovers.
Add IPv6 support to SC2!
|
Oh you Blizzard, what happened to you?
|
This is why I stopped watching SC2 and watch LoL now. At least Riot supports their game.
|
People pay for the game to be able to play the game.
This is like selling a tennis court and then still want money every time someone plays there.
