And this is why LoL will always have larger numbers than SC2, Riot actually likes there games and their community.

I laughed. But only because there is a lot of truth to it.
Shame that happened to an amateur tournament.

According to their EULA, they can shut down your account for any reason they like, at any time, with no warning whatsoever. Don't like that? No? Why are you still playing?

It's all true you are saying about Blizzard's policy regarding shiting on the community that actually plays their game. But people, they are not forcing anyone to do it. They don't give a shit if you stop playing. Or they do? Business is everything in this crazy world now, and business is the one deciding about everything. And righfully so! This is the world we created, might as well enjoy it...ccc

There is no more excuse for this Blizzard. I can't see anything but money being the concern in this. Greed is one of the deadly seven sins... and although I don't consider myself a religious man, I do believe that if you just get too greedy you go straight to hell!

I mean battle.net sucks, its a regress from the old 1998 battle.net, the gameplay is worse than Brood War, the campaign was worse compared to Brood War and the support hasn't been there at all.
Blizzard should put in LAN else people shouldn't buy their games anymore and that's the story.
They've used and abused the fan base enough already and have become from one of the best and friendlier companies around to one of the worst and evil companies out there. Blizzard right now are the EA of 10 years ago. It shocks me why people would buy HOTS with so many issues revolving around WOL, including their shitty chat system, interface, etc. I for sure will not be buying it until they fix these problems. I'm not buying it either and not buying D3 either. In fact I may even download it from the internet just because they've been so arrogant and so corrupt. From doing development work myself, I wouldn't ever pirate a game, nor music anymore. Really, it's a kick in the nuts to anyone who spent their time and money developing it. I feel the best way to protest is simply not buy their game. They are obviously neglecting customer feedback, so no reason to continue supporting them. Why not? I'd play it single player, there are always fixes around the online connection or private servers, so not only am I not buying the game from Blizzard, but I'm playing it.
It took years to get the respect for Blizzard and in two short years they've managed to destroy it. I used to be a huge fan, now I'd like to see them bankrupt with all the crap they've been serving their customers.

blizzard suck
never should there be a problem like this at a lan event.

By pirating a game you become another "statistic" which provides the companys with reasons to screw the consumer.
Pirating a game isnt "having your cake and eating it too", piracy is having your cake and shitting on the next cake that comes along.

I mean from bnet 0.2 to the campaign to the multiplayer troubles in SC2 to always online for D3 a single player game to the market place to the bad support and just plain arrogance they've sealed the deal for me.

Yep, this is seriously annoying. I was once at an event where there were around 100 players that had Blizzard approval and we ended up spending the entire 12 hours off and on playing other games because no more than like 16 people could log onto SC2 at any one time. There were people from the tournament on the phone for hours with Blizzard and it never really got resolved.

Holy crap, this is the most juvenile selfrighteous argument here.
What about all the developers, coders, testers, etc. The people who do not make any of the business decisions. You think its going to be the upper tier employees that suffer first? No, pay cuts and lay offs start at the bottom. You can't even defend your statement as just your opinion, its too far wrong for that. If you want to find a way to piss off the one or two guys that made a bad decision, thats your deal, but taking everyone with them is ridiculous.
And by the way, even the most cynical gamer realizes that Blizzard still produces some of the best content around. They set a high bar along with the communities expectations pushing it higher, but overall they dont serve crap. Just not to the level we have come to expect from a major player such as Blizzard.

was at a LAN last night and had the same issue (a bunch of WoW players logged in at the same time to do some race tournament and then BAM howie's game shack got IP banned for a few hours, even though they said they've cleared the IP with blizzard before)
it's actually getting kind of silly now. being at a LAN trying to prep for the tournament and I'm just sitting there playing sc brood war cause I can't log into bnet 2.0, thanks blizzard. then I had to play on someone else's account that was already logged in before the ban FOR the actual tournament.
i feel like going to Irvine, sneaking up to Mike Morhaime's multi billiion dollar home, and taping 50 papers to his door that say "FFS SELL 1 OF YOUR FERRARI'S AND FREAKING IMPLEMENT LAN"

I am not buying Blizzard products anymore as well. No Diablo 3, no HotS. After joining Moneyvision they follow exact patch Bioware followed under EA. Imo only games worth supporting are from indie developers. I wish more people would be willing to do this. SC2 is a step back from BW in literally every single aspect.
Blizzard needs to prove that they're worth spending money on before we spend more money on their games, and part of this is implementing features we already ought to have, like LAN.

I don't think I am going to buy HotS. Not with the lack of respect Blizzard has given its customers.

This can be easily remedied with a higher cap on people on the same IP address

The last game blizzard created that revolutionized something was Starcraft 1.
Since then they've removed all features bnet 1 had since 1995, added facebook integration and called it bnet 2. What a sick joke.
Of course I'm not going to buy their games anymore and of course I'm going to play them from the internet because I can.

I'm in the same boat. There needs to be a laundry list of fixes before I even think about buying HOTS and I need to know they are on that disc before I puchase it. The list includes -
Complete revamp of the SC2 Bnet design + integration + functions. LAN support or some kind of alternative to it. Thought out unit composition and unit integration. Replay functions completley redone.
I don't feel like Blizzard is giving less respect to customers, but I do feel like their business strategy has completely changed from previous releases. They are starting to go the way of EA, and we all know how fucked up that is. When you start believing in, "Gamers never know what they want", then you are starting on a downhill trend. Gamers do know what they want and the majority voice it.

Right. Because otherwise they would never even consider screwing the consumer.
Please stop buying into corporate propaganda. "Screwing" the consumers (and quite often the developers as well) is part of a publisher's job description. Given even a smallest chance and means to get away with it with net gain, they will do it without hesitation, they don't need or care about any other reasons.
