I love beards, I have a beard but when I worked in a kitchen I had to shave it or wear a beard net, that seems reasonable. Why should it be different in another job? If your employer makes a request involving your personal appearance you have two choices follow their direction or leave the job, it is as simple as that. Beards are awesome though, I haven't been carded at a liquor store in forever.

Even if is forced to do so by GSL, it's a part of their dress code. Holy shit, let's make a thread on TL about it. Because that'll make a Korean company on the other side of the world really change their legitimate dress code. I swear, sometimes I think the SC2/reddit community thinks they have waaaayyyyy too much power. This latest Orb situation didn't help matters at all.

And I don't really understand how a groomed beard make you look any less presentable. Yeah all bearded men in the world are so darn inappropriate. Where did I say that? GSL just views being shaved as being appropriate. Are you disgruntled because an employer is enforcing appearance on an employee (lol)

Damn christians. Professionalism is dictated by norms, standards and cultural views. You just proved so by showing that Sweden is more flexible with professionalism by allowing beards and stubble.

I wouldn't say most of South Korea is non religious as over half the population is religious in some manner with Christianity and Buddhism being the two largest ones. However with almost half the population being non religious and no state-religion I doubt religion has much or any sway over anything, beard growing policies included ^^
