@VirgilSC2 :
This is the controversy surrounding Dragon. You are just making further accusations that you shouldn't be.Your statements will result in me not further watching the KSL or EWM. Any event i hear that you are an organizer for:
Using a smurf account, Seo Yeon Ji, Dragon participated in various online tournaments. In particular, he participated in A1 KotH where he finished 1st in September 2010’s overall ranking. Based on this result, he was invited to play in A1 Starcraft2 Tournament #2 which invited top 6 players from KotH and 2 other players.
In the first round of the tournament, he played against TheStC and won. Soon after the match, TheStC wrote in PlayXP that “Seo Yeon Ji used absurd counter build order without scouting. I know that Seo Yeon Ji is MioWerra’s smurf account and MioWerra has been doing stream-cheating online.”[8]
After speaking with TheStC and members of WeRRa, Dragon publicly apologized to TheStC, members of oGs and WeRRa. After Dragon was accused of maphacking, streamcheating and match fixing on PlayXP-forums[9], he then replied that "he was sorry for what he had done" but didn't go into detail which parts of the allegations were true. Furthermore he stated that he would “never dream of other tournaments, televised matches, or pursue a career as a pro-gamer.”[10]
WeRRa’s clan master Gundam and vice clan master Cella also apologized publicly and Dragon was expelled from WeRRa. WeRRa disbanded a month later, after another scandal surrounding it’s clan master Gundam.
After getting expelled from WeRRa, Dragon joined SlayerS clan. He succeeded in qualifying for GSL 3 In November 2010 which led to a public outcry. Despite public pressure, GOMTV took no action against him. After getting eliminated by NesTea in the first round, he wrote an apology for breaking his earlier promise. Mr. Chae from GOMTV also released a statement explaining their stance on the matter.[11]

i dont know any1 who builds 3 command centers like he did not knowing there were mass roaches incoming....ITS OBVIOUS WHAT WAS HAPPENING
|
Now Katu is screwed for pointing out the obvious

If a professional starcraft 2 player has been caught stream cheating in the past then they have set themselves up for every god damn ounce of ridicule they ever receive after that point.
Once a stream cheater always a stream cheater in my book. Rainbow seems to have a bunch of fanboyz who can't handle him being made fun of.
That being said, Katu pissed off the guys who pay the bills over at Playhem... he should have had more situational awareness.
Moral level: I couldn't give a fuck less about some stream cheater being made fun of. Professional level: Katu messed up by angering the boss/angering fans against the brand.

Thanks in advance. [troll] since when is being called homosexual like being called a cheater? all homosexuals get free pass to IPL4 from TL now [/troll] I'd like to apologize to all homosexuals and cheaters for my comments. To compensate, TL will be sending them all to Korea. And now with the mods trolling this topic as well can we please close it already >_>
Are you kidding? This is the part where it gets good!
Katu trolls in his casting some random guy bashes him on his first post because of said trolling (lol) Rage ensues Mods come in to laugh at the situation rage continues Mods start trolling
Soon it will be full circle.

Soon it will be full circle.
And everyone will be on North or South Korea

I dont even know what reddit is ... but thats ok , because all i hear from reddit on this site is not good...
Virgil you are overreacting , he didnt even do nothing wrong on your events , no more ksl ? you really are serious?
Dragon fans are like Ron Paul fans (i like ron paul ) Wolverines , waiting by the wall to attack anyone that passes by... So we all know that teenagers forget everything in a week , this almost seems like a probe rush , but its not

Honestly, as a tournament organizer that employs Katu for a pair of high profile events, I find myself in a tough position regarding all of this. I think Katu is a fantastic caster with a lot of potential, however some of the things he said, even if unintentionally, were highly inappropriate and unprofessional.
As a response to this action, he will be taking some time off from casting both the EWM and the KSL for the time being. While this leaves me, as a tournament organizer, unable to broadcast the event he was scheduled for today I feel it's a step that needs to be made. I hope our viewers can understand this, and adjust to the revised schedule for this week, where we will broadcast Saturday and Sunday as well, leading up to the LAN finals on Monday.
On the other hand, it's very tough for me to put any support behind Dragon for this issue. Dragon is a past offender, and is allowed his current fan-base as the result of a promise made after he was caught. I think the community needs to realize that, following his apology he reneged on his words and participated in the GSL, caused a commotion, stepped back apologized again, and is now reneging on his words yet again. I think the offer from Playhem to send Dragon to IPL 4, while noble, is the wrong way to respond to an issue regarding a player who should not be participating in any tournaments without at least a public statement saying he is withdrawing his previous verbal contract with the community. It's one thing to stream your play, and earn a little money. Hell, sAviOr He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named was streaming on Afreeca for a while and I don't think many people had a problem with that. Should Dragon choose to accept the trip to IPL 4, I for one will be personally disappointed.
TL;DR: Katu will not be casting my events for the near future, sorry for anyone who was going to tune in today. What Katu did was wrong, and what Dragon is doing is wrong as well. Stop witch-hunting and being biased.
I understand why a westerner would think that because Dragon cheated once and he's gone back on his words about not entering the GSL he shouldn't be allowed to play, but people need to understand that in Asian culture you work and work and work: You get home from school and work till you sleep, life is about success! If you don't succeed you're basically a failure. It's quite hard to describe to be honest.

i just listen to the vod. I dont think what Katu was so bad. I seen and heard alot worse.
Really the community is overeacting as allways. Like the naniwa/Stephano/idra incidents we seem to have shitloads of drama queens here.
|
There are more posts complaining about drama queens than anything else.. Heres a hint: think this is unimportant and not worth a response? Don't respond. The thread will disappear faster that way.
That way those of us that think there is actually something worth discussing can do so without wading through countless 'I don't understand what the problem is' comments.

Katu did state his opinion and while it might be true, there is nothing unprofessional. Dragon has had shadows upon his accomplishment and it is legitimate to ask the question each time he plays. That's the burden Dragon has to carry.
Moral of the story : People are raising pitchfork once again in the name of professionalization while only a few of them are really making a living out of it. Hypocrisy all the way. You are not fair judges, people of TL. Don't act as if you were.

The people that host playhem couldnt watch replays to see what was going on? No1 does what dragon was doing in a str8 up game

What a pretentious asshole - Never listening to this guy again, he already alienated me from playhemTV (From his constant retarded remarks about players play while slamming his fist into the table trying to cement a point somehow), I had no idea how he could do it further.

I would like to clarify my original statement by saying that I am not firing Katu, and he has not been remoced from the events entirely. He is simply taking a break while the vocal fanbase calms down. This was not an action I took against him on my own, but rather something we decided would be positive for everyone involved.

This looks like an overreaction. Everything could have been fixed with an apology.
Playhem extending the sponsorship to IPL 4 was quite generous (unneeded, but extremely generous considering its a flight from Vegas to Korea and back and any additional costs).
Dragon will accept it because its an opportunity that he might not have had otherwise, as well as its a gift. Turning down a gift is also a gesture that can easily be misconstrued. But Dragon is given the opportunity as a teamless player to go to IPL 4 for minimal costs, I mean that's great for him.
Good luck to Playhem, Dragon in the future. I hope Katu makes a public statement (I don't even know whether its warranted, but it seems like the public wants some sort of response).

Actually, people here are a quite objective. There are the obligatory screaming scandalizing folks, but also a lot of people seeing it more clearly. The reddit guys are over the edge.
Just leave Katu be, wait a few days, everything will be good. He should say on stream what he thinks. All the threats of not tuning in on EWM KSL etc anymore: bullshit, the people saying that will still watch it.
In journalism there is a iron rule: People don't get Irony.
