This is the controversy surrounding Dragon. You are just making further accusations that you shouldn't be.Your statements will result in me not further watching the KSL or EWM. Any event i hear that you are an organizer for:

Using a smurf account, Seo Yeon Ji, Dragon participated in various online tournaments. In particular, he participated in A1 KotH where he finished 1st in September 2010’s overall ranking. Based on this result, he was invited to play in A1 Starcraft2 Tournament #2 which invited top 6 players from KotH and 2 other players.

In the first round of the tournament, he played against TheStC and won. Soon after the match, TheStC wrote in PlayXP that “Seo Yeon Ji used absurd counter build order without scouting. I know that Seo Yeon Ji is MioWerra’s smurf account and MioWerra has been doing stream-cheating online.”[8]

After speaking with TheStC and members of WeRRa, Dragon publicly apologized to TheStC, members of oGs and WeRRa. After Dragon was accused of maphacking, streamcheating and match fixing on PlayXP-forums[9], he then replied that "he was sorry for what he had done" but didn't go into detail which parts of the allegations were true. Furthermore he stated that he would “never dream of other tournaments, televised matches, or pursue a career as a pro-gamer.”[10]

WeRRa’s clan master Gundam and vice clan master Cella also apologized publicly and Dragon was expelled from WeRRa. WeRRa disbanded a month later, after another scandal surrounding it’s clan master Gundam.

After getting expelled from WeRRa, Dragon joined SlayerS clan. He succeeded in qualifying for GSL 3 In November 2010 which led to a public outcry. Despite public pressure, GOMTV took no action against him. After getting eliminated by NesTea in the first round, he wrote an apology for breaking his earlier promise. Mr. Chae from GOMTV also released a statement explaining their stance on the matter.[11]

While I cant understand why what I've said would cause you to cease viewership of my events, I apologize if I offended you in any way. I hope you change your mind and continue to watch.

Thank you for clarifying. It sounds alot better knowing the intentions behind it. At first it seemed like you were just punishing him. Thinking about it now its a good idea for this. The worst thing you need for your event is this drama following it.

Wow......just wow.

Honestly, as a tournament organizer that employs Katu for a pair of high profile events, I find myself in a tough position regarding all of this. I think Katu is a fantastic caster with a lot of potential, however some of the things he said, even if unintentionally, were highly inappropriate and unprofessional.

As a response to this action, he will be taking some time off from casting both the EWM and the KSL for the time being. While this leaves me, as a tournament organizer, unable to broadcast the event he was scheduled for today I feel it's a step that needs to be made. I hope our viewers can understand this, and adjust to the revised schedule for this week, where we will broadcast Saturday and Sunday as well, leading up to the LAN finals on Monday.

On the other hand, it's very tough for me to put any support behind Dragon for this issue. Dragon is a past offender, and is allowed his current fan-base as the result of a promise made after he was caught. I think the community needs to realize that, following his apology he reneged on his words and participated in the GSL, caused a commotion, stepped back apologized again, and is now reneging on his words yet again. I think the offer from Playhem to send Dragon to IPL 4, while noble, is the wrong way to respond to an issue regarding a player who should not be participating in any tournaments without at least a public statement saying he is withdrawing his previous verbal contract with the community. It's one thing to stream your play, and earn a little money. Hell, sAviOr He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named was streaming on Afreeca for a while and I don't think many people had a problem with that. Should Dragon choose to accept the trip to IPL 4, I for one will be personally disappointed.

TL;DR: Katu will not be casting my events for the near future, sorry for anyone who was going to tune in today. What Katu did was wrong, and what Dragon is doing is wrong as well. Stop witch-hunting and being biased.

LOL so your going to punish him for a (situation) that has nothing to do with you or your events? That is absurd and unjust.

No but has everything to do with the 'community outrage' and Katu as a caster. Really don't you get this? Virgil produces a tournament to entertain the community of starcraft, with this current outbreak of appal originating from 1 individual, it would be unwise to host this event by that individual. Don't rub in an ink stain.

As far as insight goes this seems a right choice. Flaring up emotional fans won't do a event's name any good, Katu brought this upon himself, professionaly he made a mistake and sadly (for himself and others) he can't be associated with any production while intentions meet jugdgement. Luckily, as Chill said, Sc2's judgements are often short. In a month we could have a taiwanese corrupt event organiser for the IPL to cover all the needed drama

Virgil, I appreciate what you're trying to do but the SC community is all bark and no bite. Take Katu out for a week, everyone will forget, and then put him back in. This is the smallest deal in the world and doesn't requier a huge damage control campaign.

I love how chill can tell someone to do this in full view of them all and it will still work. Welcome to ESPORTS.

I can't fathom why he would bring up Dragon's past experiences, being what they are, and think it would be funny. He basically said that Dragon might be stream cheating. It's not trolling in the slightest. That said, yes Dragon is a cheater and him going to IPL4 would be kinda weird.

If a professional starcraft 2 player has been caught stream cheating in the past then they have set themselves up for every god damn ounce of ridicule they ever receive after that point.

Once a stream cheater always a stream cheater in my book. Rainbow seems to have a bunch of fanboyz who can't handle him being made fun of.

That being said, Katu pissed off the guys who pay the bills over at Playhem... he should have had more situational awareness.

Moral level: I couldn't give a fuck less about some stream cheater being made fun of.
Professional level: Katu messed up by angering the boss/angering fans against the brand.

You mean Dragon, not Rainbow.

Seriously, this thread needs to be closed already, nothing good can come from it.

I don't like how nice your being Virgil. I'm afraid I'm going to have to stop watching everything that I enjoyed watching because of you, and every event I hear you organize for, even the ones that I never actually watched anyway (but you don't know that I didn't watch them, ha!)

Hope you step on a crack too. You know, I really didn't want to bring your momma into this, but I just don't approve of you not folding to the mob and my our demands...

This is one of the funnier threads I've seen on TL so far. The Drama is mind boggling. Was he a little out of line? Sure. The way.a lot of you are reacting just makes me laugh at how you probably handle real life issues.

Not sure if people saw, but in the PlayhemTV thread, one o the founders did say Katu will no longer be associated with Playhem.

I doubt any regulars will "stop watching" Playhem over this. To be honest, most of those angry guys were only watching because Dragon was playing. A bunch probably already thought Katu was a crapbagel from his KSL casts. I vaguely recall him mixing up Squirtle/Ace's names and generally being lackluster.

I watched the last game of that Playhem on Cloud Kingdom, and Dragon got.....outplayed. I wouldn't fault an average guy for making fun of Dragon. I was kind of disappointed myself when he played a Del Taco ad then logged after losing. I know I only watched Playhem because Dragon was playing, and I'll probably watch Playhem again if Dragon plays in it again. This is really nothing to lose sleep over, I know Dragon probably won't.

He's getting a-walked by a giant colossus ball as we type, and doesn't look half depressed. Everything will be fine.

I have personally seen/heard alott of Katu as ive beena daily watcher of the KSL, and I must say that I have always enjoyed he's casts, afterall, he does this for 6-8 houres a day!
I want to add that I have never heard him bad mouth or accuse anyone in he's casts before.

I see this as a one time misstake, and will keep supporting him for the good work he does for the community...

And I do hope all of you putt your pitchforks down, trying to take someone down like this doesnt make you any better IMO.
