pretty much this.

That's the only thing that annoys me so much bout the SC2 community. Drama queens and small sensitive roses crying their hearts out if something like "this" happens. Other communities are and were hard like a rock and still everyone had fun playing/casting/watching even with small bashing/flaming here and there.

As communities grow they become increasingly sensitive to stuff like this. If Katu and you were the only two people in the community, you guys could make incredibly insensitive comments about anything and no one would care (my wife and I say a lot of very politically incorrect things when are alone discussing things). But the more people you add into a group, the more you need to watch your tongue, because what upset you, is different that what upsets me. And since it is different for everyone, you need to be sensitive when talking to large groups.

If people want E-sports to be taken seriously and to grow, people who represent E-sports (casters) need to learn to act seriously. So he should take some flak, apologize and move on and hopefully it doesn't happen again. But he deserves the flak.

Katu made his apology personally to Dragon and his fans. So did Playhem TV. Playhem is now even sending Dragon to IPL. Whats the problem?

What time do you live in? The Stone age? Sure, talking about the past is a legitimate reason of bringing up the subject, but what he said was slanderous and I'm pretty sure if he said that to someone IRL, he'd get sued or assaulted. The other guy was smart to stay out of it. As I am assuming he did not agree with the other guys statements.

up to you to have your own opinion. He just talked about Dragon's past. you can think whatever you want, that doesn't mean Dragon wasn't a cheater.

assaulted for what? Where is the slander you are talking about? Did he say "OH SHIT HE OPENED THE STREAM!". no. He just said "well I won't be surprised if that happened"

You think that is 'simply talking about his past'. You need to learn some of your rights and laws mate.

"He that cannot forgive others breaks the bridge over which he must pass himself; for every man has need to be forgiven."

up to you if you wanna forgive him. I don't have any power over sc2 esports, so please let me have my opinion

I'm pretty sure most people have forgiven him. Everyone has made mistakes, and people must learn from them.

Have you ever committed a crime? Done a mistake so bad that you needed someone to forgive you? Then you can relate to Dragon.

ok, when this entire community will have the same opinion that they got for dragon toward Combatex, you can start to talk once again

The difference is that CombatEX was already a piece of shit, then he was asking for freewins, this is different.

Wow......just wow.

Honestly, as a tournament organizer that employs Katu for a pair of high profile events, I find myself in a tough position regarding all of this. I think Katu is a fantastic caster with a lot of potential, however some of the things he said, even if unintentionally, were highly inappropriate and unprofessional.

As a response to this action, he will be taking some time off from casting both the EWM and the KSL for the time being. While this leaves me, as a tournament organizer, unable to broadcast the event he was scheduled for today I feel it's a step that needs to be made. I hope our viewers can understand this, and adjust to the revised schedule for this week, where we will broadcast Saturday and Sunday as well, leading up to the LAN finals on Monday.

On the other hand, it's very tough for me to put any support behind Dragon for this issue. Dragon is a past offender, and is allowed his current fan-base as the result of a promise made after he was caught. I think the community needs to realize that, following his apology he reneged on his words and participated in the GSL, caused a commotion, stepped back apologized again, and is now reneging on his words yet again. I think the offer from Playhem to send Dragon to IPL 4, while noble, is the wrong way to respond to an issue regarding a player who should not be participating in any tournaments without at least a public statement saying he is withdrawing his previous verbal contract with the community. It's one thing to stream your play, and earn a little money. Hell, sAviOr He-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named was streaming on Afreeca for a while and I don't think many people had a problem with that. Should Dragon choose to accept the trip to IPL 4, I for one will be personally disappointed.

TL;DR: Katu will not be casting my events for the near future, sorry for anyone who was going to tune in today. What Katu did was wrong, and what Dragon is doing is wrong as well. Stop witch-hunting and being biased.

They did it - they said he's probably sniping the caster's stream here:

hope he gets free trip to IPL too, would be so much fun

ok now. we've all had our say. isn't it about time to let this whole thing go? does this thread need to get to forty pages? the guy apologized, the org apologized, i doubt dragon cares, and if he does, he ain't in here complaining about it...

i mean, has anything new been added in the last seven or eight pages?

Virgil like a boss! May i ask who will be casting the KSL instead? Katu is a decent caster, i enjoy his voice and his commentary but this incident really makes me lose faith in him. Hope that you replace him with another quality caster! Thanks for this clarification on actions taken on him.

I was waiting for this thread. I was watching Playhem last night and was in the chat when he said those things. The thing that got me the most upset was the fact that he said that Dragon got kicced from SlayerS because of cheating. That is utterly and completely untrue. For one, SlayerS would've released a statement in regards to a player WhO cheated. (Like they did with the CoCa incident) So for the fact that Katu even made something up as Bad as he did for a "troll" just speaks volumes about him. There'S a fine line between trolling, and lying. For one,Katu just apologized for the comments he made. He needs to make clear that the comments were untrue and not just for saying them.He can't jsut say sorry and everything be ok. He need tos to correct the mistake he made. Until then,Katu can go eat dog poop.

After watching the video, I don't see anything that is completely tasteless and unprofessional. Katu called it as he saw it. Tongue in cheek? Yep, a little cocky, yep, but not anything that warrants this kind of reaction.

I mean dragon went 3 command center vs a roach all-in. When the first batch of roaches and lings arrived at his natural, his reaction was to build ANOTHER command center rofl. Katu proceded to clown on him which Dragon definitely deserved.

There was no direct insult or profanity, no "RAINBOWS A FUCKING FAGGOT!" or anything like that.

Katu definitely implied that Rainbow is a stream cheater and gave background information to support that assertion. Katu then trolled his chat because they all were Rainbow fanboyz who stayed up late to root for him.

Katu should not have apologized in my opinion.

Uh, pretty sure a bunch of coaches and such said (publicly) that he should go kill himself/never stream again/other crazy shit when they found out actually.

And shit, I'd make Katu cast every EWM/KSL event for the rest of the decade if Dragon gets a free IPL trip. Who cares about punishment, right?

LOL if only I had enough viewers on my stream for you

OT: Playhem handled the situation well. Although Katu did act very unprofessional and disrespectful, people make mistakes. I'll still participate in future tournaments as they are quite fun.

Are you serious? Playhem handled it awfully - no mention of a punishment for Katu while happily offering a decent sum of money to Dragon, for the sole purpose of appeasing his fans? I wonder how the Korean community will respond when they hear about the cheating, promise-breaking Dragon getting a free ride to IPL.
