I'm not implying that you are missing the point. Really.

Not to mention the caster(s) don't represent the views of playhem. I hate most Terran players and never care about any of them, but seriously, you do NOT show that kind of disrespect to any player.
more hate ? lol
He said something bad , because thats what he is doing , talking about Starcraft , and now everyone seems to want that Katu retires from casting ?? ? ?
You must be joking , he already apologized Dragon and playhem , Dragon even got a free trip to be crushed like a bug on IPL4 , what do you guys want more ? Should Katu be sent to Korea to be judged on court of law ? Lets all go read Extradition Laws to judge him, we can also throw some rocks..

Far, far worse than what happened on the stream is all the goddam drama queens in here.
"oh he should never cast again"
"oh he should be banned from the internet
"oh i'll never watch playhem again, this is such a disgrace"
Seriously, to all of you go fuck yourselves. I'm sure some of you are trolling with the most extreme responses (har har har), but really, what is this fucking world coming to? This shit is rampant these days, someone makes a remark in somewhat poor taste, and everyone goes to crucify them and ruin their entire lives. God forbid YOU ever say something stupid.

Um....He was booted from WERRA for either streamcheating/maphack/or fixing matches. WHICH HE HAD ADMITTED TO! Then SLayerS picked him up>dont understand why they would want some1 who admitted to cheating in some form

Playhem runs this daily without any problems for so long now and they even responded with an offer that is mindblowing. Huge props to that organisation and be sure I will continue watching.
All in all great job guys! Good and fast response.

Should edit the OP once again, the trolls won this round.

I want to express my opinion on this matter being an avid and long time fan of Playhem and Katu.
First of all I love how Dragon play his game and his build order is insanely sick and ofcourse that chant with matching eyebrow whenever he wins a game. Katu on the other side I knew him since I think Playhem first started, so It's unfair for everyone to curse him like that. I'm posting this coz the Dragon fans/community easily got "TROLLED" by Katu and he eventually fed them more. I knew that Katu normally trolls other casters as well with other casters in Playhem.
Indeed what he said was too farfetched and I believe that he should take a break from Playhem as his punishment (yes Katu you deserved it).
Long story short. Don't throw negativities to an organization by a simple mistake of one entity. Yes that person made a mistake and should be punished but remember in our lifetime we do commit mistakes, so don't easily judge a person as such.
I still love and support Playhem and Katu, he's one of the best casters out there pouring all what he can to eSport. I support Dragon too.
P.S. I think from this point on we should refrain flaming this thread and give the involved person/s to resolve this issue and move on.

While you're a little overboard, I agree. It's pretty overkill in terms of a reaction, but whatever. Nothing we can do about it now.

There aren't 40 other people waiting in line to take his place? Come on everyone on this forum would give their right arm to be in esports.

i will stop supporting/playing and watching playhemTV untill Katu gets fired, sending tournaments like IPL4 or MLG is not good enough for apogolize because Katu insulting Dragon's personality.
This is really unprofessional, Dragon was BoxeR's #1 practice partner at GSL open seasons.

I swear to god, dude, you JUST posted this in their stream thread, copy pasted it here, I replied to you there, someone posted the same thing a handful of posts above you.

It's really tough to find people who are even half-decent at it and can be available for a tournament run twice a day. And you need a certain rig to stream at all.

I think the bigger issue is that Katu thought "Trolling" the chat was a better use of the time than actually casting. His comments were pretty ridiculous but the fact that he kept looking at chat and going further deserves punishment more than what he said.
He basically made up a story about Dragon that was only partially true while implying that Dragon was cheating then basically acted like "U MAD TROLOLOL" for the next game. Someone with that mentality should not be casting period. I would even go so far as to say that even if he had been factually correct, which he wasn't, he still took it too far afterwards with the "trolling."

Nobody is denying that he has done it in the past. How relevant that incident was during the cast, especially in the accusatory tone, is the issue. People make mistakes and anyone who has followed Dragon since the incident should give him the benefit of the doubt. He has built up a bit of community goodwill since then, and is sincere.
Once again, nobody denies that it happened, but Katu's implied accusations as well as implying that dragon is still a cheater and of poor character is the problem. Plus he got his facts wrong in addition.

Dragon DID cheat..not once...multiple times! For a $$$ tourneys! Not even that long ago! We aren't talking about bw..we are speaking of sc2 (unlike most community cheaters known from bw, lastshadow, tt1). Sure dragon is a crowd pleaser but if you cannot read for yourself and see that Dragon is not a good person and have no respect for the ethics of being a good sport and a true competitor. SaviOr got no sympathy and he was 10x the player of dragon! I realize this is not the highest echelons of a national phenomenon, but certainly everyone here condoning and "forgiving" a player who doesn't give a shit about YOU personally (as proven by his blatantly disrespect for his "peers" by CHEATING MULTIPLE times) is just as disgusting as the behavior of a "professional" caster.
Please source your statements. Using a smurf account, Seo Yeon Ji, Dragon participated in various online tournaments. In particular, he participated in A1 KotH where he finished 1st in September 2010’s overall ranking. Based on this result, he was invited to play in A1 Starcraft2 Tournament #2 which invited top 6 players from KotH and 2 other players. [Liquipedia http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/Dragon ] Implies he cheated enough times in a KOTH, presumably with prizes, to score the #1 ranking one month, and that he then streamcheated in the first round of that tournament before getting caught. Edit: What the fuck, I swear this was an edit =/
that's an extremely vague claim you're making...
stream cheating needs to be prevented, because you simply can't prove people to be innocent of it. do you realise how rediculously easy it is to stream cheat and simply 'hide' the fact? "oh damn i need to counter this - i know, i'll send a random scv scout or dropship into his base and people will see it and think WOW SUCH GAME SENSE instead of DODGY CHEATER"
as i understand it; dragon admitted guilt, publicly apologised and intentionally held back his pro sc2 career to regain some dignity. now, dragon is undoubtedly one of the most popular terran players and arguably the most popular terran streamer because he's such an entertaining personality.
btw juan's exploits are completely irrelevant, but seeing as you're so interested in the despicable and dishonest drama stories - do some investigating.

Come on everyone on this forum would give their right arm to be in esports. How many out of the 40 would even come close to meeting the standards of a vocal minority. The person for a tournament like this would need to donate hours a day. On top of that have fear of a lynch mob appearing by saying something wrong.
Playhem dropping him shortly after, doesn't encourage people to put in effort. If they can spend countless hours assisting with their tournament. Then getting dropped for having a slip, shows very little "job" security.

I'm unsure about the people who seemingly doesn't think Katu was actually trolling. At one time in the dialogue he said "Dragon is obviously stream cheating, look at him, he's building a factory, terrans never build factories". If that was not obvious trolling, I am not sure what is, before that though he was kind of unclear and I can see that some think that he was in fact not trolling (even though the maniac laughters should give it away).
Eitherway though, the trolling was way out of proportion, and incredibelly stupid. But being stupid is not the same thing as being disrepectful or actually trying to imply seriously that a player is in fact cheating. So meanwhile punishment might be appropiate, some people are obviously taking it to far.
|
There's two sides to this for me. Katu most certainly did something very unprofessional and quite unfair to Dragon. I absolutely think he owns Dragon an apology.
On the other hand, people in the SC2 community need to calm down a tad. Katu owes the fans nothing. He owes * Dragon * the apology, not us. So for so many fans to storm in an be outaged and demand an apology and immediate punishment are slightly out of line.
This is between Playhem, Katu, and Dragon. And I guess Bonk as well, since he was put in a tough situation.
Edit: Syntax

I think Playhem handled the situaton beautifully. Offering a sponsored trip to IPL4 must cost a faiiiiiir bit of money.
