There's probably nobody in the world that asks GSL to reschedule based on our schedules more than we do. There's conflicting schedules for our players all the time. If we don't give GSL a heads up on when we can't be there, then we don't expect them to reschedule matches by their own initiative, and they don't. In our case this means that we always tell them weeks in advance when we book. It's never easy to figure it out, and it's a difficult task for management on both parties, but it has to happen. If they would have to keep track of when Liquid players are at MLG, DH, Assembly, IPL, IEM, as well as keep track for everyone else that's probably not a realistic demand because scheduling is actually really hard.

I have no idea whether or not players, teams and/or MLG reached out to GSL to help out with scheduling Code A, but as far as I can tell that information isn't out there yet, so I'm not sure why everyone is upset with that crucial piece of information missing.

GSL could have and should have rescheduled the Code A matches.

It would have been so easy for them to do too!

Good job MLG!

well done MLG, I'm sure the tickets were not cheap. If I could in ANYWAY pay for this, I totally would!

I feel like GSL should cover half the ticket cost for botching this.

I just re-earned the respect I lost as a gold membership user at MLG and will renew my pass, IF IT FUCKING GETS BETTER DESCRIPTION ON WHAT I ACTUALLY GET FOR MY MONEY, but off that rant, shit happened you fucked up about that, but you made amends in my mind by doing this... Class act.

Yea, I kind of feel swindled by the the gold pass debacle as well but the more I read the literature on the site...they have in clear and certain terms its for the pro circuit. That said, it is a little crappy that the foreign league still has to bow and bend to the korean league determinations. Maybe the roles will be reversed in 5 years. Who knows?

But, Nazgul... they don't have to keep track of everyone else. There's this little website called Teamliquid.net that can tell me who's playing in what tournament when - generally as soon as players start announcing or tournaments start announcing.

Still, it's a player issue somewhat - players enter the events, and should try to ensure they aren't "double booked". With Gom this might be a bit of a sticky issue, because GSL tournaments run over the span of several months while all of the other tournaments are "burst" activities - 3 days here, 4 days there, scattered over the course of the year. IE, I know that if I attend MLG, it will be for that entire weekend. Whereas if I'm in GSL (hah, never happen) I could be playing a few times a week for a couple of weeks, a couple of months, or I could burn right the heck out pretty quick and have plenty of free time for the rest of the season.
Yes, I email sponsors... to thank them. Don't post drunk, kids. My king, what has become of you?

Plane Tickets are expensive! Hopefully MLG makes enough from the PPV to cover all the Koreans who need to be back.

They weren't really double booked in this case though. This was a travel scheduling problem. It's one thing to expect Gom to keep track of other tournaments. It's quite another to expect them to know players' travel schedule.

That's pretty Scummy from GSL if they only give you scheduling notice less than a week in advance.

I feel it's MLG's own fault, and they corrected it fair and square. You can't expect a organisation like GOM to check up every single player as to where he goes for a tourny, so a slight miscommunication, no big deal, nicely handled though.

Also considering code S is done, you can expect the code A to go on early in the week it's prity standard, i don't really see it as scummy or a way to undermine MLG, though i do admit they seem rather late with it.

It isn't like they purchased them new tickets.

When i did a flight change from Rome back to the US, it was 99 dollars.
When i did a fairly last-minute domestic flight change, it was free.

It obviously varies by carrier and whether it is domestic or international, but it isn't like they are buying them new 1000 dollar+ tickets.

Hmmm, I don't understand why GSL didn't just change the schedule for these players. They've done so many a time for HuK when he was abroad for tournaments.

Wow that's really impressive, and expensive.
MLG stepping it up!

Edit-

At above responses: You are allowed to move a flight to a later date but you cannot move it to an earlier date I believe.
Therefore it is like buying new tickets. However if mlg cancels the reservations they should have the money back from those tickets to use for future flights.
