Well, if axslav signed a contract with Reign and got a salary, he'll probably be laughing all the way to the bank now (while looking for a new team)

To make it in the long run a team has to establish itself not only through talent, but financially. Being over ambitious can be costly as we see here. Good luck to all the players. Should be a good lesson for the teams currently around too. I can't imagine many teams around today are doing even close to well financially. I mean, obviously there's TL, which has a huge fansite, but outside of that I can only really think of EG as financially stable in a meaningful way (maybe coL and Quantic, but I don't know all that much about them to be honest and they don't seem to be nearly as big in the community as far as expanding their brand goes). Then we have for example FXO, which is just a way for a rich guy to waste his money for entertainment (not a real business model), and a lot of poorer teams that aren't really paying meaningful salaries. I fear for the scene. :\

That would make 100% of esports a negative thing right? Competition in a new, growing market like this is unforgiving. These groups and companies just need to refine their "build order." ![]()

Hopefully the terms were decent for him though, since I've really been warming up to him lately. I'm just glad these players are based out of NA (and several of them seem to have outside sources of income), since they probably won't be falling upon hard times. Sometimes, having a strong legal system is a good thing. ![]()

With that said, I don't see Slush being without a team for too long. He generates viewers on his stream, solid player, and a nice addition to an existing sqaud. Kiwikaki and Axslav don't have AS hard of a road as some of the other players, but it will be interesting to see how their past tournament results/other circumstances affect them. GL old ReIGN members. I hope this isn't forcasting IGN pulling out of the scene or worry amongst sponsers.
