Uh the thing about BoXeR is not so much his results that are interesting/impressive but more his approach to the game and the way he thinks about it. Much like Julyzerg, he has a playstyle that is very unique and will always be able to use his system of thinking to beat top players once in a while.
Also consider that he built team SlayerS. Don't know about you, but imo that's pretty awesome.
This i can buy. But beliving he will get 15k views in a hearthbeat becuse of that is a bit... silly. Personaly i find his playstyle in SC2 a bit boring and predictible. But thats just me.

We watch because we are his fans. As his fans, we do not care if he is a little past his prime (I say a little because the guy is still in the GSL, no small feat). We watch to show support for him and his team. We watch because his games are often extremely entertaining, as Boxer's style revolves around new build orders, multitasking, and micro. It doesnt matter if he is "good" or not, if i wanted to watch specifically for the play I would DL replays and watch those. I watch streams to be entertained. and watching lim yo hwan play starcraft is a pretty good way to do it.

Well, you appeared to be implying something might be afoul with this comment, and that would worry me if I had any reason to believe it was true, which I don't.
Those are hardly what I would call "male geeks." Their lives are relatively balanced compared to say a gaming addict's, or so we've been given pretty good reason to believe, for instance their daily exercise, or other blogs such as the one by cella's female friend (not gf).
Edit: maybe Eve's fan club page shows her age, I don't know.

Boxer didn't become famous just because he was highly skilled at Starcraft, if you've been playing since 98 I'm surprised you don't understand that or at least show more respect. He is the biggest celebrity we have ever had, many of us grew up idolizing him. He isn't just a hall of famer. He has never given up. He's worked harder and given more for esports than anyone else.
Did you seriously describe his play as boring and predictable? Some opinions are wrong, this is one of them.
