I would say thats not many at all considering the amount of time between them.

To OP, just suck it up and stop whining about Starcraft 2. And get the sand out of your vagina.

SC2 is prettier in some ways and the ladder 1v1 matchmaking works well.
In terms of a user-centered design based around players actual DOING something War3 wins. In terms of atmosphere and feeling War3 wins. How many players have commented that things like chat/tournaments/lobbies/clans keep War3 feel vibrant and alive - but SC2 feels lonely and dead, and they subsequently quit playing?
It's not just about usability. Changing the UI changes user behavior, which changes the game in general. The SC2 custom UI makes impossible to even play 95% of the maps created.
And if you are a custom map maker the new interface even worse. It's incredibly discouraging to work on a map and most of the great map creators have already moved on. Even if Blizzard only cared about cashing-in on the next DotA or Tower Defense phenomena, their interface changes have closed off that possibility and removed the chance for great profits here.
The rest of yours posts seem to amount to: "Why are you guys discussing things that would make the game better if Blizzard doesn't care about esports?" A non sequitur. What do you think this website is for?

Agreed. Absolutely detest everything in Battlenet 2.0. Diablo II, SC/BW, WC3 all had better interfaces, and yet this game was supposed to break barriers. Lol.

Oh no, they've created opportunities for themselves to cash in. They've driven out their competition so now when they SELL you their DotA or Tower Defense they'll be the only game in town. You pay or you don't play at all.

Sadly, I feel that this is one discussion that can bare no fruit. Unless there is a SOPA/PIPA level of protest to denounce or blackout not Blizzard, but the Executive Board / Investment company which oversee Blizzard and Activision, things like LAN support and BNet improvements, whether it is cross region connection or simplified game creation, are going to stay things of fantasy. (Not the Executive Board of Blizzard, they actually would have little power here). Anything, that in any tiny or insignificant way can be claimed to reduce profits, even irrationally, is not something this Blizzard can support. I would wager as gamers, many of the Blizzard's Executive Board members would really support these ideas, but they aren't simply ambitious gamers anymore, they are responsible for the well being of not only themselves, but also many employees, for which they have to sometimes bite their tongue and say only what their job demands them to say. To stay "true to themselves", they would have to sacrifice a lot of money and support, which at this point I doubt is even an option. That all depends on that conditions of their merger.

heard a rumour that Blizzard was planning on updating B.Net functionality ALOT for SC2, they are well aware that the Legendary map makers such as yourself are PISSED OFF about the lobby system and I heard at Blizzcon (been going every year YAY!) that they want to re-vamp it and that they still want to implement the map sale system where map makers can charge for a "subscription" to their map, say 1 time buy of $5 and the map is yours and updated for life.
(...)
Have no idea if that information is legit or not, so take that with a grain of salt. Stuff I found hanging about old BW map makers page. Post was written last week.

What we need to do is put together a few ideas that tie the functionality we want in with the value/money that they want. I have a few ideas, and I'll throw them into a post when I get more time.

I'm not buying HOTS until there is a decent custom game system.

2. Automated Tournaments - They bring the community together. If pairing up players for it was based off MMR you would see a TON of people logging in everyday to compete. And throw in some awesome portraits and decals for prizes and you have yourself a happy and thankful community.
3. Shared Replay Watching - It speaks for itself. I don't know how many times I want to show my practice partners a certain build I'm working on or what not, but in order to do so I'll need to upload it on a third party site. Why don't they have this already built in? They had it on Battle.net 1.0!!
4. Statistics - For each race you played on that account with your W/L and your tournament W/L. This also goes back to Clan Support where they had the statistics for your entire clan so you'd know who your better players were.
5. Making Multiple Accounts - I loved how in WC3 you were able to make another account with ease and at no additional cost to you. If you mainly played Human, but wanted to try out Undead you could just make a whole new account so you wouldn't mess up your current one. This is a problem at the moment in SC2. If you play Protoss at a GM level and want to try out Terran on ladder you either play Terran on your main account and jeopardize your league ranking (though ladder is only ranked practice) or cough out another 50 something dollars for a new account. This also goes out to the pros, too. Many of them have to buy new accounts just so they can have legitimate practice sessions on ladder.
in regards to statistics, bnet 1.0 not only showed ur w/l ratio for each race, it also showed your w/l ratio in each matchup if u went onto bnet.com. it had useful stats such as:
- w/l ratio in each mu - w/l ratio after certain time durations - w/l ratio on each map
is also had other interesting facts such as pie charts for how often you used certain heroes, win streaks, and avg resources mined

I totally forgot about this. The wealth of information available was enormous; you could basically analyze your performance based on any criteria imaginable.
But hey, at least we can view our friends' achievements over our B.Net accounts now.

ok, so i posted on the sc2 fanpage, created a ticket and bumped both EU forum posts multiple times.
Does anybody know if there's a blizz sc2 equivalent to gaben@valve.com? Is there someone we can write? I feel this is actually the most important issue with the game right now. Bigger than any balance or expansion issues by far.
