They should copy Dota 2. You can pick the region you play in, can spectate games with hundreds of people right in the client, it has normal fucking chat. It's not sluggish and awful like Bnet 2.0 is where it can take an eternity just to pull up someones profile. It's in beta and half finished and still a thousand times better than SC2

Everything else I read is important but not a dealbreaker for me, this though, definitely dealbreaker. I played BW when I was very very young, and therefore only the campaign and Fastest Map Possible a little over 2 years ago. There was shared replay!? This would make asking for help and coaching amazing so I don't have to navigate 10 folders, scroll through my multiplayer, drag in into an email and send it to a friend who has to do the same thing backwards so that we can both watch it.

Sorry to say, there's not much we can do. The effect on gamesales can be huge considering they have 2 more expansions coming out, and unless the OP's point (+ quite a few others) are fixed either before, or in, HOTS, I won't be buying them. And i believe I'm not alone in this, but if it's many enough of us to make a dent in their sales I'm not sure (rather doubt it), but it is something they should be worried about if you ask me. Just goes to show that Blizzard, like so many other companies and gamedevelopers, don't give a shit about thier customers because once the game is sold they've already made their money. However, with 2 expansions already planned they should care.

I think blizzard has done an extremely good job on what matters - providing a damn good game. I think their focus has been extremely good - not only have they released a great game, a fun game, but a fairly well balanced and designed game, and they have focused their post-game efforts on balancing the game and releasing new maps and hosting high quality tournaments. I'd much rather watch a blizzon invitational tournament, or get a new balance patch, or a set of maps, or a new ladder season, then get a new UI, or analyzer, or chat. Like I really could care less about chat, for one. I have a phone to call friends, and a forum to visit to discuss the game, and no game has an in-game chat system better than an online forum. This isn't world of warcraft, and I'm not a roleplayer that wants to pretend to be a waitress in the game. I want a good game, and blizzard's focus on this game's balance, maps, and HOTS, is correct. Blizzard is doing an excellent job, and as a result of their focus on game balance and map design than chat and clan support and stupid tags, this game is much better. Like really. Who cares about chat or clan tags. How is that anywhere near as awesome as this game, or the ladder system? I could give a rat's ass about chat. I would not pay an extra dollar to sit in a chat channel, but I will pay money for new units, new maps, new balance patches.

Don't ask dumbass questions like who cares when you've seen countless threads and a ton of people post here saying they do care. Why is it wrong to ask Blizz for more? People give feedback because they care about the game and want to have their experience improved.

For every good implementation they make, there are 10 other problems that NEEDS to be fixed or improved.

Just the fact that they embed pro tournament streams.... That alone means they are so far ahead. How come so many of you are gravitating to LoL and not DOTA? It's like playing protoss instead of terran.

But most improtantly, I keep imagining reading "IU still sub-par 2 years later" when I scan the sidebar. Then I get really angry and then I read again and calm down. ![]()

The DotA 2 spectator/replay/profile system is absolutely fantastic. Chat channels could be better organized but at least they're there, and you've got Steam to handle your friends list and PMs. It's pretty remarkable how much better spectating is in DotA. You can jump in any game (except private games when DotATV is disabled) and watch the game with other viewers. There's a built in 3 minute delay which works with the auto-director camera setting, so that the game automatically highlights the action for you. If you'd rather control it yourself, you can either have a free camera, hero chase or player perspective, which includes the cursor and everything so that it's essentially the same as watching their stream, besides the mic/camera. Ever want to see HuK play without his music? ![]() From the profile, you have the stats of the heroes you've played and a complete match history where you can check the scoreboard and download/watch any of your replays. For replays, along with the auto-director, there's also an auto-speed which speeds up the game and slows it down for combat. Oh and of course when you disconnect from a game, you can always reconnect.. It's really quite sad how poor Bnet 0.2 is compared to what newer competitive games are using. Of course they have to accommodate custom games as well, but the custom game system is quite poor as well, and you will never see a healthy SC2 MOBA scene without a better matchmaking system.

Let's just make it so you can't even chat to your opponents in game, and no one can contact you while you are playing. That way you can get a FULLY immersed experience and focus exclusively on the beauty of the game design and balance. Socializing while playing games? Fuck that!

Even leaving aside my BW elitism, SC2 is a massive failure. I'm utterly bored by both it, and every custom game i've ever played. This from Blizzard's formerly biggest fan. It's not even like they couldn't implement these things. There's no good reason, and the game suffers massively for it. It's fucking disappointing, but there you are.

Blizzard makes good games, but only WoW had the privilege to become a 10 times better game since release. (And then I am talking about cross servers, dungeon finder, interface, added content)
