UI still sub-par 2 years later. Why don't we care? - Page 11

I especially agree with the OP due to the feeling lonely part. I don't see anybody online aside from seeing "There are 1.000.000 players online on B.net" if they are not my friends. I have 2-3 people who I met on TL due to being practice buddies. Other than that i rarely meet anyone, just saying gl hf due to feel there is someone alive with me. We really need those community supports.

We do care. I care. I care a lot about Blizzard's games.

It's Blizzard that doesn't care about their game's UI, because it's still bad and it never had to be.

For me bnet 2.0 after being online for a while I start to feel tired like "Ugh, I've been sitting in this small space forever..." and then I need to log off and take a break to play something more social like BW or chess.

I do not feel compelled to "chill" on bnet 2.0.

Great great summary of whats missing on battle.net. People complain about the game and while it could stand some tweaking and improving, battle.net is definitely in more need of it. Post this also on the battle.net forums.

i hope they change it to a realy UI 2.0 not 0,5
i enjoy sc2 but i feel so alone. i miss the standart Country channels. we gat back our AUT-1 but its not here from blizzard and we did it our self. but how many ppl are dont know it. and would have fun with other fellows

HOTS comes and i realy hope it changes a whole lot of the game. it saddens me and i started playing League of legends. because its more fun for me than SC2 now.

They're just saving this stuff so they've got additional features for the expansions imo. There's no other reason not to have already implemented some of this basic stuff.

Battle Net 2.0 was one of few most dissapointing and depressing features ive seen in online gaming. In the end of the day it can be the nail in the coffin. Bnet is as important as the game itself, you will never make a casual base without it and casuals will never turn into pros because of it, Bnet discourages casual players (and to be frank its probably better of alt-tabbed when idling than sitting there).

lets encourage husky and day9 to do a live event when they focus on this? tweet bombing Dustin and all the other blizzard people :D make everyone watching send emails, post in the same thread on the battle.net forums etc etc - that would actually maybe do something!

The sad thing is that BNet 2.0, for all the hyping up that Blizzard did about social networking, feels very anti-social.

LoL is terrible too, they make money hand over fist and you still can't spectate, there's no replays, etc.

They should copy Dota 2. You can pick the region you play in, can spectate games with hundreds of people right in the client, it has normal fucking chat. It's not sluggish and awful like Bnet 2.0 is where it can take an eternity just to pull up someones profile. It's in beta and half finished and still a thousand times better than SC2

Seriously. The DotA 2 spectator/replay/profile system is absolutely fantastic. Chat channels could be better organized but at least they're there, and you've got Steam to handle your friends list and PMs.

It's pretty remarkable how much better spectating is in DotA. You can jump in any game (except private games when DotATV is disabled) and watch the game with other viewers. There's a built in 3 minute delay which works with the auto-director camera setting, so that the game automatically highlights the action for you. If you'd rather control it yourself, you can either have a free camera, hero chase or player perspective, which includes the cursor and everything so that it's essentially the same as watching their stream, besides the mic/camera. Ever want to see HuK play without his music?

From the profile, you have the stats of the heroes you've played and a complete match history where you can check the scoreboard and download/watch any of your replays. For replays, along with the auto-director, there's also an auto-speed which speeds up the game and slows it down for combat.

Oh and of course when you disconnect from a game, you can always reconnect..

It's really quite sad how poor Bnet 0.2 is compared to what newer competitive games are using. Of course they have to accommodate custom games as well, but the custom game system is quite poor as well, and you will never see a healthy SC2 MOBA scene without a better matchmaking system.

Everyone hail to the HLTV Seriously when i played CS years ago, i was thinking that by now every game will have this feature, i was wrong...

I can put myself behind all of the points on this list 100%, but what I can't grasp, is the custom game search engine.

I mean, imagine that at some point in its implementation the guys testing it actually agreed "yes, this seems okay." Holy shit i can search for MLG daybreak and i get ESV Cloud Kingdom higher on my search list. What the actual fuck. I might even have to scroll to find the map i searched for.

I can't even begin to wrap my head around how that search works.

The reason why people aren't up in arms about it anymore is because they've announced damn near all of those for HotS, so we're just waiting.

For me, the biggest concerns are sharing replays and clan support. Why should we have to go to some separate website to upload, then download replays when it would be so much easier just to send them directly to a friend, or maybe even a top replay menu, where the week's most popular replays can be seen. This would be great for the community because anyone has the chance to show off their skills/comedic values through epic/funny games that they want to boast. Also, there should really be no need to spend money on changing your clan/team tag.

I rarely venture into the SC2 forums, but I have to say that BNet 0.2 was a huge, huge factor in me basically dropping SC2 altogether and not caring about it anymore.

I love UMS. I loved Brood War UMS, I loved being able to make a Kyprion Pact RPG, or Elements RPG game and see it fill up with random curious players and we could get a game going anytime, any map. I'm bored of the first two pages of SC2's UMS list so I guess I'm just shit out of luck, huh? The map editor was probably the thing I looked forward to the most in SC2, and look what they've done to support it. Nothing. Worse, they actively work against it.

For those of you saying "Just wait, it'll be fixed in HotS": don't fall for it. If you really want these features implemented, then DO NOT BUY Heart of the Swarm unless the features are THERE in the beta, and not just empty promises on the 'coming soon' (coming never) list.

I don't think many people are buying HotS for the single-player campaign and its terrible, terrible writing. Make them fix what's already broken first.

on bw your friends list was too small. only being able to add about 25 people, in starcraft 2 100 people is a great number but i haven't even had a conversation with 100 people on bnet yet on sc2 and i been playing since beta

I'm glad there's so much positive feedback.

The interesting question is - what can we do about it? Boycotting HotS won't work, as none of us would really do that for obvious reasons. And even if it happened, the numbers would be too small to make any impact at all.

But the HotS beta awaits. And with it the beta forums and the beta feedback. This is the best shot we'll have at actually communicating these things. Keeps threads like these active in the beta forums, or post your own ones. Include interface feedback in your beta reports.

None of these issues are, by themselves, complete dealbreakers. That's why they're getting so little attention. But as a whole they totally kill what Battle.Net could be. Don't just limit your beta feedback to balance or design. Mention these things as well. Often. And all of them. Just because we've been promised improvements doesn't mean it'll actually happen; we have to get this through to Blizz.

league system = competitive attitude that made me stop playing. it became about the rating, not the games.

In fairness it was a massive social upgrade for World of Warcraft. Doesn't change that it's fucking awful in sc2 though ~_~
