Is it possible to view the spectator chat in a replay?
Because when I'm watching a replay, there's nothing in the chat log from the spectators. I've switched the view from Everyone to one of the spectators, but still nothing.
It was suggested to me that replays only save what the person who saved the replay sees (so I wouldn't be able to view spectator chat if I was one of the players), but I've tried it with replays where I myself am a spectator, and I know I've commented, but the chat log doesn't show it.
Is there an option somewhere I need to enable/disable, or a hotkey some sort? Or do replays simply not record spectator chat?

If it's a replay saved by the spectator, it saves the spectator chat.

That is certainly not the case. Read the third paragraph of my original post please.

This is certainly true, because if u switch from ur view to spectator view, it's still ur replay, u need the replay from a spectator, that he saved.

Doesn't matter you still need the spectator's view of the game.

Did no one read what the guy wrote? he said specifically he's tried to view the spectator chat when he 'HIMSELF' was the spectator, but still has had no luck.
You guys seriously need to grow a brain or just stop commenting, the amount of shitty posts these days is atrocious
EDIT: and to add something of usefulness to this discussion, i just went through some replays of mine where i know myself as a spectator have commented as well and others and i see nothing as well.
Not sure how to fix your problem though

I'm not completely sure but I think in SC2Gears there is an option for the replay chat, and maybe that has what the spectators said as well. Sorry I couldn't be of more assistance. Hope you figure it out ! Good question though really.

have you tried if referee chat is saved? Seems shortsighted that nothing but the player data is saved (ultimately that's the most important part at least).

The replay system in-game will never show observers chat, even if the replay comes from an observer and the chat is indeed saved in the replay file.
To see the chat, you'll have to open the replay with an app like SC2Gears.

Oh wow does it actually works with SC2Gears? I never knew that. I'll try this myself.

Try the search function or google...And yes it is very good, autosaves replays, has all kinds of data about the replays (APM , EAPM, MICRO , MACRO APM's , resources, army value, ect. ect.), and it can also view the chat of the replays like I stated before I believe, but seriously bro just try to search function, it will do you wonders I promise! :D :D
